Jason remained calm, but something was starting to linger inside him, he wondered why nobody was around.

This place should be busy with people entering and leaving, but nobody is here, could it be everything has been arranged to that extent, then the owner is aware too.

Jason was still lost in thoughts when a barking voice vibrated the room.

“Who the hell is he, who refused to pay for the meals he ordered!!”

Mr. Landon stormed inside with several bodyguards following him from behind.

His red suit was dashing, he was a medium height man with an extremely large belly, his stomach will probably house four kids without issues.

The waitress rushed to him.

“Sir!, this man refused to pay for what he ordered”

Landon examined Jason from head to toe, what a poor bastard, a poor man has no voice in this world, yet he dares to make trouble with the rich, he is definitely after death.

Seeing Jason was more attractive than him even made him more angry, a poor bastard shouldn't be this handsome.

“So you are the one who refused to pay for his dishes, who gave you that courage, to bash inside my restaurant and refuse to pay for what you have ordered”

Mr. Landon step forward to Jason, Jason stands up from his seat, Mr. Landon is one of the top men in Ocean Berry, he can't be involved in things like this, he must explain everything to Mr. Landon, and he even has the camera to back him up, if they temper with the footage, then it's obvious that he was telling the truth.

“Mr. Land—”

“Slap!”

Mr. Landon cuts Jason off with a heavy slap.

“How dare you mention my name while still standing, don't you have manners”

Jason was shocked to the bone, he never believed that Mr. Landon was involved in this too, no wonder Robert was so calm, all of them were so calm, he was sitting there like a fool.

The thoughts enraged Jason.

“Is this how you treat your customers, without giving them a chance to explain themselves”

Mr. Landon's face darkened, he expected the kid to fall on his knees and lick his shoes as a sign of apologizing, but he talked back with so much confidence.

“And what are you going to do. Go to your knees now, then I will listen to you”

“Like you would care. You already know the truth”

Robert and the rest faces darkened, Jason is such a stupid individual, he should be on his knees already, but he is challenging Mr. Landon, what a fool!

“Jason, how dare you accuse Mr. Landon wrongly, are you insane! Do you know who Mr. Landon is!”

Jade cheeks raised to her eyes.

“Do as Mr. Landon says, don't expect us to help you”

Natalie scoffed loudly.

“Shameless bastard!”

Mr. Landon faces Jason with a deadly expression.

“So what if I know, you are just a commoner”

One of his men handed him a document and a pen.

Mr. Landon smashed it on the table close to him.

“You either sign this or die!.

“Either you work for free for twenty years or die, you have five seconds to choose”

He wants to see this brat go on his knees and beg for his life, then he will force him to sign the documents.

Jason sounded immediately.

“It is easy, I chose death!”

Jason's words shake the room, he rather died than waste twenty years of his life working for free.

Jade frowns deeply, she really wanted to see Jason cry on the floor begging for his life, but he chose to be stubborn, death is not a bad thing too.

Robert's face hardened, what a fool he is, he thinks this is a joke.

Mr. Landon's face hardened.

“So be it then”

He faced his men.

“Beat him to death”

One of the men stepped forward to Jason.

“You are going to regret that choice instantly.

“No turning back!”

He smashed his fist forward to Jason, Jason could feel his strength levels, he was better than Robert's henchmen, but his movement was too slow for him.

He evades the punch and sends a powerful one to the man's face.

The man staggered backwards and finally collapsed on his butt.

Everybody was dumbfounded, Jade's eyes widened in shock, when did Jason learn those moves.

Mr. Landon's face darken, it seems the brat knows some moves, no wonder he looked so confident.

What a fool.

“Attack him together!!, bring him to his knees”

He can fight one man, but he can't fight many and besides, that is the weakest among the men he brought with him.

The men launched forward to Jason, Jason managed to send some of them backwards, but they overpowered him and eventually brought him to his knees.

They placed their hands on his shoulder and forced him to the ground.

Jason was struggling with them, but the four men were using all their strength to push him down.

Mr. Landon grabbed the knife on the table close to him.

“There is no turning back kid, since you choose death, death it shall be”

He moved the knife to Jason's head, but a loud voice vibrated the room.

“Halt!! Your movement!”

Everybody's eyes moved to the entrance direction, over ten men dressed in black suits entered the restaurant, in the middle was a middle-age man dressed in a black bathrobe.

His presence seems to be sending out a cold atmosphere.

Robert was stupefied to see the man.

“And who are you!”

His voice was loud, Mr. Landon's heart kicked violently when he heard Robert's words, is he a fool.

He immediately stepped in the man's direction.

“Sir George, it's such an honor to have you here.”

He bows his head low as he walks closer to George.

Robert's heart skipped when he heard the man's name, he looked closely and his heart seized, his legs turned jelly immediately, that is the Mayor.

The Mayor of Ocean Berry.

He didn't recognize him because of his dressing, what had he done, he wished the ground would swallow him.

George's attention wasn't stable, his eyes were moving around the people in the room, it finally stopped at Jason. His eyes capture the ring on Jason's right hand, that is the supremacy ring of the Spectre family.

This boy is the last surviving heir of the Spectre family, his master.

His face darkened when he noticed Jason's condition, four men were pinning him down to the ground, who is doing this to his master.

Who the fuck did this!

Mr. Landon reached George.

“It is….”

SLAP!

George smashed Mr. Landon on his face, the force sent Mr. Landon staggering backwards, he crashed on the table behind him.

Everybody's eyes teared open in shock

George pointed at Jason.

“Release that man now!!”

At that moment, Abigail could only shake her head, the weight of disappointment pressing heavily on her chest. Her perfectly styled hair barely moved, but her fingers twitched by her sides, curling slightly in silent frustration. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go—not at all. She had walked into this meeting with the confident belief that she held the upper hand. She thought all it would take was a bit of pressure, a few sharp words, and Summer would eventually fold. That she would give them what they wanted. That the girl would break under the tension of so many eyes watching her, judging her.But Summer didn’t.And now, Abigail stood there, silently swallowing the chaos that was erupting within her. Because this wasn’t just about authority or pride. No, it was far deeper than that. She had come here with a purpose—one purpose only. Not for politics. Not for status. She wasn’t here to punish or prove anything. What she truly wanted, the only reason she had sat through this st

At that moment, Soma folded her arms, her gaze firm and unwavering as she stood her ground before the panel. Her voice came out with a sharp edge, clear and unapologetic. “Let me make this very clear,” she began, her tone calm but cold, “the person I came with whoever he is, whatever he is that has nothing to do with any of you. It is not your business. Not one bit. So why are you all pressing so hard like I’ve committed a crime? Why are you trying to twist this into something it’s not?”The room went quiet again, but this time it wasn’t the shocked kind of silence it was the tense kind, the one that made people shift in their seats and look at one another, unsure whether to interrupt her or let her finish.Soma continued, her voice unwavering, “If you think I’ve done something wrong, then do what you need to do. Run your investigation. Check your footage. Call in your experts. But if you think I’m going to stand here and hand over that person’s identity to satisfy your curiosity, you

There was no warmth in her eyes now only the cold, calculated tone of someone who had made up her mind before the conversation even started. She said clearly, “So, for everything that has happened, and for the consequences we’re now dealing with, Soma you need to apologize. Not just any apology. A sincere one. And it has to be public. That means you’re going to record a video where you will clearly state that you overreacted, and you’ll admit that you should have followed due process instead of taking matters into your own hands. No excuses. No back and forth. Just a clean, public statement of remorse.”The room became uncomfortably still.Soma blinked in disbelief, trying to keep her expression composed, but anyone paying close attention could see the flicker of shock on her face. Still, she didn’t say a word. But Abigail wasn’t finished.

She had known she was coming for a meeting yes. But she didn’t expect this. She didn’t expect to be the reason the entire association gathered in this room full of respected dignitaries, top veterinary professionals, and people who barely even glanced at her the first time she walked through those heavy glass doors. She slowly turned her head toward Mr. Dave, her eyes searching his face, as if trying to find the catch behind his calm, serious tone. But there was none. He was serious. He meant every word.Mr. Dave, sensing her confusion, continued.“Well,” he began, folding his hands together on the table and leaning forward slightly, “we heard about what happened during the competition. At that moment, she didn't waste any time. She drove carefully, her hands tight on the steering wheel, her mind still swirling with mixed thoughts about Jason, Camilla, and everything happening around her. The city roads felt longer than usual, even though she knew exactly where she was going. She was headed to the Association of Veterinarians Headquarters, a place she had only seen a few times before, but today, she had been personally invited. They had called her earlier that morning for an urgent meeting, and even though her emotions were not fully settled, she had decided to honor the invitation. After all, the association had now become the talk of the town—every top vet clinic, pet hospital, and animal rescue center wanted to be affiliated with it. And she, being a rising star in the veterinary world, was finally being recognized. When she got there, the building itself looked more prestigious than she remembered. She looked directly at Soma with a challenging stare, refusing to back down.“Well, that’s not my concern,” she said, her voice firm and full of defiance. “You’re only saying all this because you’re trying to be nice. Because you’re trying to be kind and proper and careful like you always are.”She scoffed lightly. “But let’s not act like there’s nothing there. There is something. Everyone can feel it, even Jason probably knows it, and you” she pointed at Soma, “you’re the only one pretending not to see it.”She took a sharp breath and tossed her hair over her shoulder. “Since you don’t want to go talk to Jason… since you don’t want to push yourself to say how you feel, then I will. I’m going to do it myself. Nobody is stopping me.”Her voice rose slightly. “Jason is my friend too. And if you’re too scared to be honest, then someone else has to say it for you, and that’s what
