Chapter 3

The girl seemed to realise what she had said. Miley, acting arrogantly in front of Julian and Jaxon, slowly controlled herself.

"Sorry, Jaxon, but that's what you're known for on campus. It's just that I didn't mean what I said earlier. Uh, you know, I just wanted to find out the truth about the rumours about you. It turns out that you're different from the rumours. You may be poor, but you have a good heart, and I'm comfortable with that," said Miley showing her innocent face with gentle words.

Julian, who saw this, became even more upset. "You two are the same. One is a rubbish bloke, and the other is a bitch. I'm getting sick of watching this rubbish romance. You savage!"

When Julian was about to throw a hand at Miley, Jaxon quickly stood up and protected the girl so that he was the one who got slapped by Julian.

Annoyed that his target was missed, Julian threw out his other hand. But this time, Jaxon swiftly blocked the attack.

"One time is enough. You're a man, and you still want to attack women, be ashamed of your attitude," said Jaxon, which made Julian angry and want to hit him. But Jaxon dodged so that Julian fell to the ground because he lost self-control.

"Watch out, Jaxon. How dare you behave like this towards me. I may be graduating soon, but I will make sure the students at all levels hate you," Julian said, then walked away feeling embarrassed because his attack failed.

Miley's attitude sometimes made Jaxon doubt the relationship, but seeing the girl's courage calmed Jaxon's heart. He began to turn a deaf ear to the rumours that Miley was still out there dating other guys.

Because also, every time Jaxon questioned their relationship, Miley would try to be more intimate. Even the girl occasionally kisses Jaxon to reassure him.

It worked because Jaxon began to turn a deaf ear to any rumours, thinking that people were just jealous of his relationship with Miley. Jaxon became increasingly affectionate towards the girl and ignored everyone else's responses.

The time seemed to fly by. Jaxon noticed some changes in their relationship. It was right after Miley finished all her final assignments. The girl he loved started to move away and create distance.

Jaxon even started having trouble contacting her. Often Jaxon also felt that Miley stayed away by giving many little reasons.

For the longest time, Jaxon had heard the rumours that people were saying about him. Miley was always gossiped about because she was a popular student. Jaxon heard other students talk about how Miley used him to boost her grades. When she gets her wish, the girl wants to end her relationship with Jaxon.

The climax came three weeks ago. During the graduation rehearsal, Jaxon saw a man escorting Miley to the event.

"Who is that guy, Miley?"

"Ouch, Jaxon, how come you're here? I'm swamped right now. We'll chat another time."

When Jaxon wanted to ask about their relationship, she refused, saying she was late and busy with graduation preparations. Jaxon then tried to understand.

But at the graduation after-party, Jaxon surprises Miley with a congratulatory bouquet he made himself. But it was a heart-wrenching scene that Jaxon witnessed. Jaxon sees Miley dancing with a man while kissing him occasionally. Instantly Jaxon's feelings were crushed at that moment. He did not think that the rumours he had heard were true.

Jaxon, who was gallantly wearing a suit he borrowed from another student while carrying a bouquet, was frozen in silence. The students began to realise his presence in the middle of the party, as did Miley.

"Eh, you guys, look at that geeky student," mocked one of the women at the party.

"Gosh, why is there a poor guy like him at this graduation party?"

"Of course, to meet Miley. I heard from Julian that the two of them are currently dating."

While some students began to sneer at Jaxon's existence, others began to crowd around Jaxon and pester him with questions; Miley then appeared and pulled him away.

The girl was even at a loss to say, "Jaxon, you're here. I didn't know that. Who invited you?"  Miley was gentle, but it looked fake.

"It's not you because I saw that you had invited someone else to replace me. You even kissed that guy right there. How to mean of you, Miley," responded a hurt Jaxon.

Miley, who had been caught, decided to stop being sweet. The girl said, "Jaxon listen, I'm quite depressed with you. I start to feel uncomfortable every time you bring up the topic of marriage. I'm not ready to get married. Therefore I think we are no longer compatible and should end our relationship already. I'm not the type you're looking for. And vice versa."

Jaxon did not accept Miley's sweet words that seemed to blame him. He replied, "Is that true? I'm a stupid man who was fooled by your sweet seduction. Tell me you didn't approach me to take advantage of me. Is your pussy so itchy that you need to find another man?"

PLUCK!

Miley slapped Jaxon. Even though they were outside, one or two people could see the action. It would be a fantastic piece of gossip to remember their graduation by.

The girl replied, "Times are so modern. So please don't insult me. Jaxon, listen well. You are indeed a good man, smart and handsome. It's just a pity you're so poor. You always mention marriage, thinking I'll live in poverty with you. That's not possible. I love money and freedom too much to let men control me."

Jaxon was stunned. He did not expect to see Miley's original attitude at this time, and it was far from what Jaxon had imagined.

"You better listen to my advice. You're handsome; use your face to get close to the girls on campus. Don't demand too much because you're too poor. It's obvious our relationship ends here anyway," Miley said, leaving Jaxon alone.

During his relationship with Miley, many guys on campus noticed Jaxon. They were often upset that a guy like Jaxon could be close and look romantic with a girl as beautiful as Miley.

As a result, Jaxon is often bullied by some students, especially after Miley's ex-boyfriend spilt everything. Now, the most influential group on campus also hated Jaxon even more. They would all look for any opportunity to humiliate Jaxon.

They have no idea how hurt and devastated Jaxon was when Miley betrayed him. Jaxon was just a man who was taken advantage of and tricked easily, something they shouldn't be irritated by.

"What bad luck. Why must everything I love be taken away from me?" murmured Jaxon, who unconsciously shed tears.
