"His...his bones are not broken?....." Avery stuttered and immediately took the equipment away from her colleagues as she looked at it.
The expression on Avery's face was changing with each second. It went from surprise, shock, confusion. After a while, Avery took in a deep breath and then looked at Ryder, then back at the machine. She just couldn't understand what was happening. After all, when Ryder was rushed to the hospital, he looked half dead, and his bones were broken. She had thought that even if he was to survive, he was going to spend at least a year on the hospital bed and this gave her a lot of worries. But now, the machine she was looking showrd that her brother was perfectly fine and there was nothing wrong with his limbs. This confused her greatly and though she was supposed to be happy Ryder was fine, she felt a little bit lost and raised her head to look at him again. "Sister, you don't have to look worried, maybe it was the machine that gave the wrong readings." Ryder forced a smile knowing well what the truth was. But there was no way he could tell his sister the truth. After all, this was supposed to stay with him and he was to take it to the grave. Avery stared at her Ryder for a while and didn't know what to say. She just couldn't believe her eyes and even though she wanted to believe what she was seeing on the machine, she still didn't want to believe it. "Sister, could you stop staring at me that way, it's making me uncomfortable," Ryder muttered slowly, his voice snapping Avery out of her shock. "Alright brother, but tell me, how did you do it?" Avery agreed, walking towards Ryder, still staring at him suspiciously. "What are you talking about sister?" Ryder feigned confusion, staring at his sister. "By the way, can you remove the badges on my body?" Ryder continued, changing the topic. "It's making it hard for me to move." He added. "Sorry about that." Avery nodded quickly and then proceeded to remove the bandage on Ryder. "Finally." Ryder sighed, flexing his arms and legs. It was as though they had never been broken before. "Ma'am, I don't think there's anything wrong with him anymore." One of the doctors, still reading the machine, walked over to Avery, who was standing beside Ryder. "Then let's discharge him." Avery stated, feeling a bit relieved. After all, the hospital bill was naturally going to fall on her since she was the eldest. she couldn't trouble her brother too much. Besides, he was a police officer, so his salary was not enough to take care of it. So now that he was fine, there was no need to make him stay at the hospital any longer. "Sister, how many days have I been unconscious?" Ryder asked, turning to his sister. "You've been out cold for about three days." Avery thought for a while and answered. "Damn!" Ryder cursed under his breath. This was not good in any way. Today was the deadline his superior gave him to capture the criminals. It seemed like he was going to have to set everything aside first and go ahead to arrest them. "Sister, where's my uniform?" Ryder turned to his sister, realizing that he was in a hospital gown. "Your uniform has been soaked with blood by the time you were brought in. Also, it was torn, so I've discarded it for you." Avery replied, paused for a while, and then continued. "But I went to your apartment and brought some random clothes for you to change into when you wake up, though I didn't know you would wake up so quickly." "By the way, why are you looking for your uniform, where are you going?" Avery narrowed her eyes, staring suspiciously at Ryder. "Sister, you won't understand." Ryder shook his head and jumped out of the bed. The other doctors had already left the ward, thus leaving Avery and Ryder alone. "I know you're worried and want to report to your workplace about what happened, but at least you could call your superior and inform him about what happened," Avery said slowly, observing Ryder, who had already pulled off the hospital gown and was wearing the clothes she had brought him. "That's not it sister. You won't understand." Ryder shook his head refusing to say anything. "I don't know the rules of your workplace, but I know you won't be punished once you present your medical reports?" Avery continued, seeing that Ryder was not listening to her. "Also, I'm sure that they would help you look for the culprit and make sure to deal with whoever had beaten you up, as it's an offense." Ryder smiled hearing the worry in his sister's voice, but there was no way he was going to listen to her this time. Also, he needed to try out what was going to happen once he completed all the missions given to him by the system. Besides, with the help of his system, he would be able to enact justice. No criminals in the world would be able to escape his iron fist of justice. "If you are not going to listen to me, how about you have a meal before you go?" Avery suddenly suggested, seeing that Ryder was not listening to her. "You don't have to worry, sis; I'll get something to eat on the way." Ryder rejected Avery's offer without a second thought. Besides, he didn't trust his sister. Since she wanted him to stay back, she might add sleeping pills to the food so that he was going to be able to sleep and rest. "But...." "How about this sister?" Ryder interrupted Avery seeing the sad look on her face. "I'll come to your house tonight and have dinner with you," Ryder suggested. "That'll be nice." Avery agreed almost immediately. "Since that's the case, I'll be taking my leave." Ryder smiled widely and dashed out of the door. "I love you, sister!" Ryder's voice came just right after, and Avery couldn't help but shake her head; a smile appeared on her face. After a while, she shook her head, picked the hospital gown Ryder had pulled off, and walked out of the ward.

I Would Still Be A Hundred Times More Beautiful
"Huh?"Ryder froze, then turned around to see who it was as he felt that the voice sounded familiar.Turning around, Ryder smiled bitterly the moment he saw who the other party was, his mouth twitching slightly as he stared at her.Wasn't that Joyce, his ex-girlfriend? What the heck was she doing here and what the heck did she mean by trying to catch her attention?Looking closer, he saw Joyce clad in the same attire that the sales girl before was wearing, and instantly, something dawned on him, then he took a look at the brochure once again.Seeing the name, he suddenly realized why she thought he had come to impress her.He had forgotten that Joyce worked as a sales assistant in a real estate company, and that was how she was able to meet many rich scions.Which in the end caused their break up as she felt that he was not going to achieve anything again. After all, his rank in the police was quite low and it would take almost forever for him to be promoted. Nice Display
Ryder sighed as he stepped out of the station. Tim's words were still echoing in his head, and he still couldn't believe that Tim had such an idea. But then at the same time, he felt as though he was right. Scorpion and his underlings most probably had connections, and it was going to take a bit of work to be able to capture them. But then would they be punished just as Tim had said they would? He was right, at most, it was a life sentence. But if he were to follow Tim's idea, that would mean that he would become a cold-hearted killer, and that was not something that he wanted. He didn't want to become a cold-hearted killer. Not all criminals deserve to die. Some were not into killing, just like the small thugs who would steal bags and stuff.Though some were also deserving of death, like Scorpion and his underlings. All he had to do was just to make sure to draw a clear line and it was going to be fine.Ryder sighed and shook his head, putting the thought to the back of his mind. Th
Tim's World View
(The Next Day)Ryder walked into the station looking deadbeat and tired. As a result, he slept in and woke up late, resulting in his late coming. At the moment, Ryder had forgotten about his fatigue and just wanted to look for a way to get the higher-ups involved in the case.He didn't want the man to escape unpunished, he wasn't going to let it happen.Looking around the cell, Ryder froze as he couldn't find the man and his minions again. What the heck was happening? Didn't his colleague arrest and bring them back to the station?Where the heck were they? He couldn't understand what was happening."Hey, Ryder. What are you looking for?" Ryder's colleague walked up to him, wondering what the latter was looking for in the cell."Someone was arrested yesterday night, and I'm pretty sure he was brought here, now I can't find him." Ryder

"You bastard, how dare you treat children in such a way!" Ryder roared and rushed into the house without caring about anything."Who the heck are you?" The man narrowed his brows, observing Ryder, who had barged in."Your doom." Ryder sneered and rushed forward, not wanting to waste his time with the man."Beat him up." The man commanded, waving his hands at the two bulky men standing by the side.He had seen Ryder's attire and thus didn't give a damn. He was a little bit amused and wondered how a lowly police officer like Ryder had the guts to break into his den.The two men approached Ryder aggressively, they also looked down on him and thus didn't take him seriously. But at the moment, Ryder was pissed, so he charged directly at the two men, grabbed their incoming fists, using their momentum to pull them to himself; he suddenly released them and gave them an uppercut.Just as though they were hit by a moving truck, they were sent flying."Crash."
