"Finally, a breath of fresh air." Ryder inhaled, as he stepped out of the hospital, scrutinizing his surroundings.
It was almost noon, and so the city was crowded with everyone going their way, no one bothered to look at him, and it was like he was inexistent. Touching his pocket, he realized that he had no money. He should have asked his sister for money before he left. Checking again, he realized that even his phone was not there. It must have been broken, it seemed like he was going to have to get a new one. Also, his scooter was nowhere to be found. Though the scooter was old and would have faults now and then, Ryder still felt a little bit attached to it and thus didn't want it to get lost just like that. But finding the scooter was not his top priority now, so he didn't care. Instead, what he wanted was revenge. He had to make sure to capture the criminals so that he was not going to be dismissed, or else that was going to spell the end of his career. Opening the interface of the System, Ryder checked the map for the location of the criminals. Much to his surprise, the map was well detailed and it was real time showing even his location. "System, can I see the location of other people apart from those you want me to see?" Ryder suddenly thought of something. "Yes, the host can see the location of other people on the map, but that's above the Host's current level." The mechanical voice replied. "The host needs to unlock the intermediate Level before he would be able to access those functions." Ryder knitted his brows, hearing this, wondering what the heck was the intermediate level. But then he couldn't be bothered, according to his knowledge, the system was not going to tell him what he didn't need to know. In the future, he was going to know all about it. "But can I know the location of places?" Ryder asked after thinking for a while. "Yes, the Host can directly check the location of a place or how to get there on the map." The mechanical voice replied. "Good," Ryder muttered, nodding in satisfaction. Then he focused on the red dot on the map. Since it was a direct mission from the system, he was able to track the location of the criminals. After looking for a while, a smile surfaced on Ryder's face and he closed the map and the interface of the System. "So, it's not far." Ryder mused, preparing to head to the location. He had been thinking of a way to get there, but after looking at the map, he realized that they were not far from the hospital. At most, it was a ten-minute walk. Also with his new physique, Ryder felt that it was no problem at all. Thinking about this, he cracked his knuckles and turned around, heading towards the direction of the house. ----- Ten minutes later, Ryder stared at the huge villa and couldn't help but chuckle. Sure these criminals were living a good life. Well, he was not too concerned with this and directly pushed open the door. All he needed was just to capture the three main criminals and take them back to the station. As for the others, he was going to come back for them later. He still needed to keep his job. Walking into the Villa, Ryder couldn't help but frown. After all, he was expecting that the Villa was supposed to be heavily guarded and that he was going to face some troubles But much to his shock, there was no one at all. Well, he couldn't blame them; after all, they were confident that no one in their right senses would dare to barge in. Ryder couldn't care less about the lack of security. Walked directly to the door, and pushed it open. "Welcome officer, we've been expecting you," A mocking voice sounded just as Ryder stopped in the sitting room. The living room was well decorated. On the couch, were three figures all with a cigarette lit in their hands. Behind them were their minions standing and glaring at Ryder fiercely. Ryder turned around, and saw a large television screen showing all that was happening outside. Instantly, he realized they had seen him when he was coming in. Well that was none of his business. It was not like the past. Besides, he had a clear goal, so he didn't care about anything else. Looking over at the three men sitting on the chair, Ryder broke the silence, pointing at them, "You three, I need you to follow me back to the police station; after all, you've neither been granted bail nor have you been tried, so you need to remain in the cell." "Hehehe!" The men immediately fell into a round of wild laughter, their gazes falling onto Ryder, a hint of mockery written all over their faces. "You punny little police officer.” One of the men sneered, his voice turning cold. “Seems like you've not learned your lesson all because you managed to keep your punny life, huh?" He growled, his eyes flashing with a dangerous glint. "You failed when you didn't manage to send me to Hades, so what can I say,” Ryder shrugged, spreading out his arms. "Besides, I need to keep my job, so you should stand up and follow me back to the station." "How dare you!" Another of the men flew into a rage, glaring at Ryder. "Don't you know where you are?" "Ain't I in a house filled with criminals?” Ryder raised his brows, staring back at the man who still seemed rather annoyed. "Hurry up, I have no time to waste." Ryder continued, getting rather impatient. "Or do you want me to force you?" He added, squinting his eyes, a sinister smile spread slowly across his face. "How dare you!" One of the men holding a baton flew into a rage and rushed forward, swinging the baton at Ryder.Latest Chapter

"Ryder, it's been a while," Henry's hoarse voice came from the other end of the phone."Yes it is," Ryder chuckled, knowing he was calling to congratulate him."Ryder," Selena's voice also sounded as she called,"How have you been?" She asked, her tone filled with concern."I'm good," Ryder responded. He heated conversations like this, but there was absolutely nothing he could do about it, so he could only wait to hear what they had to say."We heard about what you did," Selena said, the concern in her voice increased."And I just say you've done a good job," She continued, complimenting him."The higher ups have taken notice of you and I'm sure soon enough you'll be promoted and transferred," Henry chuckled, chipping in.Ryder's eyes flashed with a glint hearing this. That was just perfect for what he wanted. Also, he understood what Henry was implying. His actions this time nearly exposed some certain individuals, thus they would transfer him so he would stop being able to have infl
Judgement
(Three Days Later)"Brother, brother, you've become a celebrity in Orange County, everyone is praising you saying you did the right thing," Jasmine grinned, rushing to meet Ryder who was sprawled on the sofa."That's good," Ryder muttered weakly, nodding at Jasmine who came to show him something.Jasmine frowned seeing the weak Ryder. Well, there was no need to be shocked, she knew just how tiring the day before was to Ryder. At first she and Fiona wanted to head to the courthouse to watch the judgement, but seeing how stressful it was, she balled leaving only Fiona since she had to bring Ryder back.In the end, the two came back in a disheveled state and she wondered how Ryder was up already since Fiona was still snoring her life away.Ryder on the other hand wasn't in the mood to talk. It wasn't that he was that tired, but at the moment, his mind was processing a lot of things. The Brown family nearly ended Andrew and Jake on their way to the courthouse.Say if not for his driving

(The Next Day)"Brother, what happened the night before? Aunt Olivia seemed to enter our rooms multiple times as if to check up on us," Jasmine and Fiona approached Ryder who was about to head to the station."There was a robber, so I asked her to keep an eye on you to make sure you were safe," Ryder explained, lying without batting an eye."Ohhhh," Fiona and Jasmine muttered, nodded, then headed back to continue to slack off."Off to the station," Ryder announced walking out of the villa, wondering what surprises would be waiting for him.In no time, he got to the station. The moment he got to the door, the officers surrounded him almost immediately as if they were waiting for him."Sir," One of them called, his head down, the others Aldi didn't dare look at Ryder."Why haven't you all gone back home to rest?" Ryder raised his brows wondering why those on the night shift haven't left."Sir, something happened after you left," the officer gathered his courage and reported."What happe
Trap
Ryder on the other hand pulled out his phone the moment he walked out of the Police station. He had just gone to see what state Andrew was in. He absolutely wasn't expecting the Brown's family secret to fall into his hands.Well, this was good now. He had Initially planned to call the Brown family, now he had more reasons to call them. There were quite a number of things he wanted to say to them.Dialing the number that called him that afternoon, the call was soon answered,"Hello old man, hope you're having a wonderful night," Ryder chuckled speaking first.Ethan at the other end froze almost immediately, eyes nearly popping out of his sockets as he stood up abruptly.Jackie who was sitting not too far from Ethan stood up instantly wondering who the heck had the guts to anger the old man.But since the family had a lot of enemies, he didn't think too much about it as he knew it had to be one of their enemies. After all, there was almost nothing that could rile up the old man except
Story
"Sir!" The officers on night duty rushed to assist Ryder the moment he stepped into the station with the assassin and the sniper rifle."Throw him into the cell," Ryder ordered letting the officers restrict the man as they dragged him to the cell.He then took the rifle into his office. Now he had a gun. As for the assassin, a smile etched on his face as he seemed to know the man's fate, but there was no need to think about it."Sir, what happened?" The officers gathered around Ryder the moment he stepped out of his office."That idiot tried to snipe me, but unluckily, he was caught," Ryder shrugged, acting like he just didn't face mortal danger.Though if the bullet had hit him, he wouldn't have died. He had the rejuvenating pill, coupled with the fact that he was a cultivator, even though his powers were not that advanced yet, he still wasn't going to die that easily.Seemed like he would need to increase the time he used to cultivate. Caught
He was pretty confident the assassin wouldn't have left. The bullet he flicked towards the assassin was imbued with his Qi.So even if it didn't directly hit him, it would at least scare him. In a case of direct hit, he would drop dead immediately.Dashing out of the villa, Ryder immediately headed towards the spot. The villa was in the midst of other villas and most importantly, Scarlett or what was her name lived in the villa right next to his.Though he wasn't sure if she had packed out after the incident. But that wasn't the main purpose. On the roof of the villa right next to Ryder's, a man dressed in black holding a set up sniper wiped away the blood on his cheeks.Just now, right after Ryder counter attacked, he managed to evade the first bullet, but wasn't so lucky to evade the second one which came right immediately after the first one.He had only managed to evade it and in the end, it grazed his cheeks.Muttering angrily, he looked back at the Villa, wanting to finish off e
