A sleek car pulled over at the entrance of the Oui Devoir, a seven-star hotel exclusive to affluent figures in the country.
"We've arrived at the suite where you'll be staying." Bethany informed. "Please, come with me." "Head inside first." He said to her. "Why?" She asked in confusion. “Being seen with the Chamber of Commerce’s daughter will draw unwanted attention—I won’t allow it.” He replied sternly. “Alright, sir.” She replied and left, respecting his wish. After waiting for at least five minutes after her departure, Irwin stepped out of the car. Hardly had he taken a few steps when someone walked into his path. Actually, when he lifted his gaze, they were two people and not one. "Irwin!" A middle-aged woman exclaimed, showing her surprise to see him. She was Dorathy Rolan, and standing next to her was a young man with a sneer, James Rolan. Those were the mother and brother of Isabella Rolan, his ex wife. "What are you doing here?" Dorathy asked, the surprise still lingering in her face. She has looked at Irwin from his head to toe for a million times and he didn't look like what she expected to see. "Weren't you supposed to be in jail?" She added eventually since Irwin didn't get the look. "I was released early for good behavior." Irwin replied firmly. "What good behavior?" James scoffed. "They must have been fooled." Irwin paid no attention to James. He didn't even spare James a glance. James was a nobody in his presence. Dorathy on the other hand forced an awkward smile as though she was happy for him. "By the way, how did the divorce go with Isabella?" Dorathy asked. "I've signed the papers." Irwin sighed. "There were some faults from my side, too. So don't blame everything on Isabella. Things just had to happen this way." He explained. Suddenly, Dorathy let out a cackle. "Staying in the prison must have fried your brain. Blame my daughter because of someone like you?" She scoffed. "Even if she had refused to divorce you, I would have made sure that you got kicked out of my family with no penny!" She swore. With a look of derision, she shook her head at him, “How could a jailbird like you ever be worthy of her?” She sneered. “Don’t waste words on him. Fresh outta prison and you’ve got the balls to come spend money here?” James glared at Irwin, his face twisted with anger. “How much did you rip off from my sister, huh? Be a smart bastard and hand it over—don’t make me beat the shit out of you!” "Right!" Dorathy seconded. "Don't make me forcefully take it from you and embarrass you!" "I didn't take any money from Isabella." Irwin replied sternly. "What?" James couldn't believe his words. "Our marriage ended due to emotional breakdown and not because of financial gain." Irwin added. "Lies!" Dorathy accused. "Do you think I will believe the words that come out of the mouth of a convict? You must be daydreaming." "Search him, James!" She ordered. "You have no right to keep the money. It belongs to my family!" James advanced with pumped shoulders, ready to search Irwin and manhandle him while at it. Irwin on the other didn't want to get entangled with James. Hence, he easily grabbed the arm of James and pushed him aside as if he was a pluck of feather. James deliberately fell hard on the ground and started rolling on the floor. "My arm!!!" James cried. "He has broken my arm! I need a doctor. You have to pay for my medical insurance!" James was shouting at the top of his voice, and deliberately blocked Irwin's way. Dorathy quickly rushed to the her son's side and started to cradle him. "Somebody help!" She screamed. "This man stole our money and even dared to hit us." Her loud voice started drawing attention to them and a crowd was converging. "Somebody call the security. He has broken the arm of my son. My son can no longer stand up!" She kept screaming. 'What a pathetic sight.' Irwin thought, curling at the shamlessness of this family. Suddenly, he spotted a necklace on Dorathy's neck. It was the heirloom pendant that he had given to Isabella. "Where did you get this from?" He asked. "Hand it over right now." "What are you talking about?" Dorathy asked, taking a break from her show. "That necklace. It's my family heirloom. Hand it over now!" Irwin demanded. Dorathy's attention shifted to the necklace on her neck, 'A heirloom? Doesn't that mean that this would cause a fortune?' She thought as her eyes glistened with greed. Then she shifted her attention of Irwin. “What do you mean it’s yours? Once it’s given to my daughter, it’s ours! What does it have to do with you?” Done with the madness of Dorathy, Irwin advanced to snatch the necklace. Point in time, several security officers blocked his way. "Young man! Show us your VIP membership card or you'll be charged for causing trouble, harassing customers, and disturbing business." The security man said. "For these offenses, you will be detained!" Irwin hesitated and Dorathy mocked him, “What good is being able to fight? Without money or power, you’re still beneath us! Be smart and hand over the money, or I’ll make sure you go right back to prison!” While she was mocking and laughing, a striking and beautiful figure suddenly approached the scene. A young and stunning lady. The aura that proceeds from her gripped the attention of everyone present. Her demeanor and features makes Dorathy and James feel little in her presence. Their eyes haunted every step of her movement as they all wondered where this immaculate lady was headed to. Was she a supermodel or celebrity? They could only wonder. Until her imposing figure came to stop directly next to Irwin. James's jaws dropped. A lady of this class and status was associated with a nobody like Irwin? He thought he was in a trance. As the air stiffened about Dorathy and her son, left in a daze, the lady spoke, "Who said he needs to give you money?" She asked coldly. It was Bethany Colwill.Latest Chapter
Chapter 164
Dowan has a good memory. This had helped him a lot when he was learning coding and several other tech skills that had brought him this far. Although he could meet a person just now, whenever he sees them in a period of time, he could remember them. But this mostly work for sounds than images, especially when it comes to humans. This voice sounded like someone whom he had met not long ago and he was right as he turned to see the young man who had dissed him just now at the vending machine. "You." Dowan muttered, very certain that this obviously wasn't what he wanted to say, but he needed to clear his head first and get his bearing. He needed to understand why anyone in their right mind would suddenly jump at him and snatch his phone for no reason. He had a cool, but this could never be accepted, not even by the self-accreditted meekest person in the world, Moses. "What do you think you are doing?" Dowan was trying not to explode or flare up. "Have you lost your mind?"Earlier he wa

News soon spread out and everyone was wondering what had just happened. No one could tell what this was about or how it had come to be, yet the strength of the news could be found on the wings of the winds."Did you also hear about it?" One of the many students gathered in the cafeteria on the school campus argued. "I thought it was a joke. Who could have ever imagined any iota of truth in that?" "But it had dawned on us as the truth. How can this be? What in the world?!" A pretty red-haired lady wondered. Dowan was one of the people who had just strolled into the cafeteria and could hear the students clamoring over something. At first, he didn't want to bother about it. He was once a student and he knew that every new week, students had something to gossip about. He thought perhaps this was one of those many areas of gossips. But when he stopped for a moment at the vending machine and looked around seeing all the students in batches, discussing the same thing. He didn't think he

Irwin turned away from the strange young lady, who was sitting on the chair in front of him, to Bethany, who now has a smile on her face. Just about a moment ago, Bethany's face held an expression that was harder than a nut or a raisin, too hard to be cracked even by the most rugged part of a rock. Seeing her smile when he had asked a question didn't provoke anger or any hostile emotion. Instead, it struck something urgent inside of him. "Did she leave already or go to the restroom?" Irwin asked again. Without waiting to get a reply from Bethany, he turned back to the strange young lady with warm, elegant features. "Are you related to her?" Irwin asked the young lady, his eyes randomly straying to the pair of simple shoes she wore. Seeing the shoes the young lady wore, it struck a sudden memory in his mind, and his eyes widened as he looked back at her. By the time he looked at the young lady again, there were fresh tears rolling down her face. Her eyes were watery, and there w

Irwin Buckham walked into Perfect Glow. The lobby was relatively small but the interior was heavily invested in to communicate the wealth of its affluence. He looked around for a moment, trying to figure out perhaps he would see whom he was looking for. But when it was to no avail, he decided to approach the receptionist. You would think that now that he was the owner of the Oscow Consortium that everyone would recognize his identity. But he had put it upon himself not to go public yet. Also, he had made sure to stress to his workers that whoever dared to release his image, or sell to some top clients for the purpose of favor currying, not only would they be sacked, but they would be heavily disciplined. Having a fore knowledge of his real identity, no one would ever want to dispute with his order let alone have the guts to want to break the order. They knew their places. "Hello, handsome sir. Who are you looking for?" The blonde receptionist asked with a bright smile. "Bethany C

"Huh?" Isabella's eyes were too reluctant to move from this man to whatever it was that he had placed on the table. She wished she understood what was happening right now but she just couldn't come to process it. It would make sense if it was coming from a beggar or receptionist. But from someone who control the business scope of the consortium? The calm, respect, composure, demeanor. Everything screamed awe. What in the world was happening? Were there truly people who are like doves occupying positions meant for wolves? She started reviewing her own life. How high and mighty she had made herself seem whenever she was meeting with someone lesser than herself. Rolan Group, even at its peak could never cut a one percent deal with Oscow, let alone now that they were in the ruins. But the leader of this top consortium could be this humble? How uncomfortably admirable! She thought. "This is a blank cheque." Edward continued, placing a pen next to it. His words suddenly knocked her out
Chapter 159
Jessica and Isabella were waiting in an exclusive area in Oscow Consortium known at the private office. Jessica has been looking around the office, checking out the interior design. The intricacies were something to reckon with. She wished she knew a little about designs and their intricacies. Perhaps she would be able to appreciate this beauty a little bit more. Suddenly, she recalled that there was someone known to be obsessed with designs and patterns. "This place looks so nice." Jessica was final vocal about her thoughts as she turned to Isabella. When she took a glance at Isabella, it would seem as though she had taken the hobby of Isabella. On a normal day, it was Isabella that ought to be swept off her feet by these details. Isabella on the other hand seemed to be staring at her phone as though she could make something come out of it. "Calm down." Jessica chimed in. "We are here already. They know we are here and are waiting for them.""I know, Jessica. I know." Isabella
