"Mr. Brown here you are," Jude hurried towards Lucien with a wide smile.
"Jude what's happening here?" Lucien frowned slightly, his eyes darting around, wondering what was happening.
"Sir we caught the thief who stole from you," Jude replied, a smug smile plastered on his face as he spoke.
"A thief?" Lucien's expression darkened hearing this, his eyes darting around.
"Stole it from me?" He muttered again, his brows narrowing into a thin line.
"Yes sir," Jude who heard this nodded hurriedly and stretched out the card Logan had given him.
"Isn't that the reason you were coming to look for me sir? Cause someone stole from you, so you want me to be on the look out and not let the person cash out the money," Jude continued giving Lucien the card.
"But you need to worry not sir, as I've already caught the person, also I fired the cashier who was stupid enough to cash the money out,"
"I wouldn't have been able to do all of that if it were not for this young man who exposed the thief," Jude concluded, pointing at Logan who was grinning and was all over the moon.
"Mmmm," Lucien nodded subconsciously, no one noticed the expression on his face was getting darker and darker with each second.
What the heck was this? Wasn't this the card he gave to the Young man who saved his father?
Now someone was declaring him a thief. What the heck was Jude thinking? Was that how the young man would have been humiliated if he didn't happen to come to the bank?
An inconceivable anger grew in Lucien's heart thinking about this. His body shook with rage as his eyes became red.
He didn't know what he would have done if the young man had been imprisoned.
Probably, even they wouldn't be able to wash the stain off their bodies in their life.
"Sir. I...."
"Paik!"
A loud slap resounded throughout as Jude froze in place, holding his face, his eyes nearly bulging out of their sockets as he couldn't believe Lucien slapped him.
"Sir..."
"Shut your twerp you trash!" Lucien roared, veins bulging out of his head, his eyes red, while his body shook.
"But sir...." Jude stuttered, looking rather confused, wondering why Lucien would slap him.
"I said shut the heck up, or do you want me to make you?" Lucien growled, glaring at Jude, clenching the card in his hand while anger burned through his veins.
How was he supposed to explain this to the young man? He wouldn't have forgiven himself if something had happened to him.
After all, it was his fault for all of these. Taking in a deep breath, he walked towards Julian under everyone's shocked gaze and gave a low bow.
"Esteemed sir, I really do apologize for my subordinate's rudeness, please find it in your heart to forgive him," Lucien apologized, swallowing his saliva, hoping Julian was going to accept his apology.
He had saved his father after all. Besides, that was not the only thing. His father would skin him alive if he were to hear that the person who saved his life was treated like a criminal.
Even if he jumped into the red sea, that wouldn't be enough to wash away all of his guilt.
"It's you Mr. Brown," Julian smiled, feeling rather surprised with Lucien's arrival.
"I was just about to tell them to call you and confirm if you were the one who gave me the card or I really did steal it," Julian chuckled, his gaze landing on Logan.
"So do you believe I didn't steal the card?" He added, the smile on his face grew wider with each second.
"Impossible," Logan shook his head, his eyes nearly bulging out of his sockets.
"Mr. Brown, you must be mistaken," Logan quickly said, approaching Lucien.
"Perhaps, you have mistaken him for someone else," He continued, still not believing his eyes.
"I know this trash, and there's no way he would have done something worthy enough for you to give him such an amount. I'm confident you must have mistaken him for another person."
"Yes, he's been my husband for years now, and yet, he's utterly useless," Lyra chipped in, nodding at Logan's words.
"And you are?" Lucien asked, his brows narrowing slightly, staring at Logan.
"I'm Logan, Logan Anderson, my father is James Anderson," Logan answered, his eyes twinkling with excitement.
"So you're James son," Lucien murmured, a glint flashing in his eyes.
"Yes sir,"
"I see," Lucien muttered, pulling out his phone to make a call.
"Brandon, Withdraw all co-operation with the Anderson family, immediately," Lucien commanded, then ended the call.
Instantly, Logan's expression turned ugly, his face as dark as the coal,
"Sir..."
"Throw this idiot out of my sight," Lucien turned to his guards and instructed.
"Yes sir," The guards answered almost immediately and grabbed Lucien and Lyra who were struggling.
"Sir, you have to believe me, I know that idiot, he couldn't possibly be of any value to you. Whatever he did for you must have been a scam." Logan screamed as he struggled, but to no result, his attempt was futile.
"Sir, please have a Rethink!"
"Break his legs," Lucien said in a cold voice, his eyes held contempt.
What would he be if he was not able to recognize Lucien?
Hearing this, Logan instantly went mute, his body shook and shriveled with fear, his eyes opening wide.
"Hubby please, you can't let them do this to me right?" Lyra suddenly screamed, looking over at Julian.
"You still love me right?"
"We've been together for many years!" Lyra screamed, as she struggled against the guard's grip.
"Let her go," Julian spoke, his gaze landing on Lyra who was covered with sweat and was begging.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know she was your wife," Lucien instantly apologized, at the same time signalling the guards put Lyra down while they carried Logan out.
"It's fine," Lucien replied, sounding rather bland as he turned to Lyra who was rushing towards him.

Julian drove the car out of Brittany’s family compound without saying much. The quiet hum of the engine filled the air between them as the gate slowly closed behind the vehicle. Unlike most of the times Brittany had seen him arrive, this time Julian had come alone and had chosen to drive himself. The car he brought was not one of the imposing luxury vehicles that often turned heads on the street. It was a modest salon car that blended easily with ordinary traffic, the sort of vehicle most people would barely look at twice.Brittany noticed it earlier but had said nothing. Now she sat in the passenger seat, occasionally glancing sideways at him. The night breeze drifted through the slightly lowered window, carrying the distant sounds of the city settling into its evening rhythm.“So,” she said after a few minutes, unable to suppress her curiosity any longer, “where exactly are we going?”Julian did not answer immediately. One hand rested calmly on the steering wheel while the other ta

Julian walked out of the house but Brittany ran after him and stoped him, slowly she was becoming fully dependent on him. “Julian wait,” she called after him and he waited a bit. “You have done a lot for not just me but my family too, yet you don’t accept any form of gratitude at all. Who are you really?” Her eyes were bright with gratitude and her lips trembled slightly. “I just do what I have to do,” Julian had equally grown a soft spot for Brittany so he found himself interfering with matters concerning her and her family just to see her happy.”No, you don’t know what you have just done for my aunt, if your prescription is accurate, you’d have restored decorum in my family as well as my aunt’s confidence.” As she spoke, her eyes glistened with unshed tears, her voice a little thick with emotions.Julian sighed, he wanted to continue the conversation but he didn’t feel her home was the best place for it. “Join me for a ride.” Julian said, his dominantly present confidence never
Double entendre
When Julian told the cab driver his destination, he didn't argue."Who is paying please?" The driver was polite but he had seen people like Julian several times, they claimed to hire cabs to sophisticated destinations just to feel among. To him, Julian looked to poorly dressed to afford a ride, he could have easily taken a rickshaw but he didn't openly berate Julian yet."I have entered your vehicle alone, how then are you asking me that?" Julian was a bit confused. "I thought you have been asked to show up at the location by someone and are hoping on payment from them since you decided to take a cab." The man looked at Julian again through the rear view mirror and concluded that he wasn't all that at all but the confidence that Julian exuded was the reason he was still being polite with him."I am going there in my own. I am paying my bill myself." Julian had decided to take a cab because he didn't have physical cash on him to take a rickshaw. It was not as though he was proud and t

As the manager of the place, he had seen several cases like this and handed them over to the security. Most often just apologized and left but Julian seemed to be hard headed. "You haven't heard from me why I have come yet you have judged me based on the words of your staff." Morning light filtered through the tall glass panels of the city hospital, casting long reflections across the polished floors. The atmosphere inside was tightly controlled, yet charged with anticipation. Security personnel monitored every entrance, and hospital staff moved with unusual precision. Word had spread far beyond medical circles. What had begun as a rumor was now an event.Julian entered the primary consultation wing without ceremony. His white coat was immaculate, sleeves resting neatly at his wrists. There was no theatrical presence in his stride, no attempt to amplify the tension that already hung in the air. Lucien walked half a step behind him, reviewing the schedule one final time.“All one hundred are confirmed and pre-screened,” Lucien said quietly. “Their case files are loaded into the system, but I assume you won’t need them.”Julian’s gaze remained forward. “Open the first room.”The first patient was a middle-aged man accompanied by two younger relatives who car
