Betrayed
“Hey! Move your Rickshaw! It's blocking the damn road!” “Beeeep!” A loud yell came, followed by the loud honking of the cars on the busy road. “Sorry, everyone, I'll move it right away,” a handsome young man, drenched in sweat, apologized as he moved hurriedly towards the rickshaw, pushing it away from the road. “Sorry for the discomfort, everyone,” the young man, Julian, smiled at the crowd and gave a slight bow. However, the crowd didn't care; everyone just continued with their business. “I should head home now; my wife should be back,” Julian muttered, wiping away his sweat. He had just finished his main work and decided to run a few errands. Though it was tiring in the bustling city, it was all for his wife. Besides, it still earned him some extra bucks. Getting into the rickshaw, Jillian started it and drove away slowly while humming. He couldn't help but be lost in his thoughts about getting entangled in his wife's embrace once more. She had gone on a business trip and
I can save him
In a non-existent space filled with darkness, Julian looked around in surprise as he couldn't understand how he had come here. “Since you've appeared here, that means you have the qualifications to inherit my inheritance and experiences!” A voice sounded, and immediately Julian turned sharply, searching for the source of the voice, but there was no one present. “Who are you?” Julian asked, his eyes searching around the void. “I am the greatest marital emperor of all time!” The voice echoed all around the void.. Julian was quite bewildered; the name was rather domineering. Besides, he had never heard of anyone with that title, but before he could ask further questions, he was jolted awake. “Arghhhh!” Julian screamed, holding his head as a lot of information suddenly flooded into his mind. Medicine, and Martial arts, cultivation and so much more. After a while, the pain subsided, and Julian looked around only to realize he was in the hospital. He was covered in so much sweat but w
Make a decision
"Huh?" Both Lucien and the doctors froze, their heads turned slowly towards Julian who stood in a spot staring at them. "And you are?" The lead doctor asked, breaking the silence as he was the first to come back to his senses. "Aren’t you a patient? What are you doing walking around?” He continued asking, his eyes on Jillian scrutinizing the latter as though he couldn't wait to get the information he needed out of him. “It doesn't matter," Julian replied walking towards the bed slowly, his brows furrowing into a thin line with his gaze fixated on the old man. "What matters is that I can save this old man's life," He added, stopping right by the bed. "So if I may," Julian said and proceeded to pick up the old man's arms wanting to read his pulse. "Young man, this is so absurd. How can we let you try anything here? Does all this look like a joke to you?” The lead doctor harrumphed as he stepped forward to block Julian, his gaze not leaving the latter even for a second. Julian wa
An experienced con man
“You see what I was saying, Mr. Brown? This young man here is obviously a con man,” Marcus instantly said, pointing at Julian. “We've already declared your father is beyond saving. Yet he says he could save him. Isn’t that so hilarious?” Marcus continued, throwing a glare at Julian. “Sir, let's…” “Marcus, get out of the way,” Lucien's cold voice came at the moment, interrupting Marcus. He had a grim expression on his face and didn’t look like he was ready to listen to any words from Marcus lipsz His father was lying there, running out of time, and yet Lucien was expected to let an opportunity he got slide? How could he? Even though he wasn’t too sure, he just had to bet the odds. “Huh?” Marcus froze as he couldn't believe his ears. Perhaps his ears were hurting or something. Regardless of what he said, was Lucien about to ignore them all? “I said get out of the way and let that young man treat my father,” Lucien commanded, his cold gaze and his voice held absolute authority. “
Find him
“Young man, since I've promised you, I won't go back on my word,” Lucien broke the silence, staring at Julian. “Here's one billion,” he continued, pulling out a card from his pocket and giving it to Julian. “My father was already at the end of his life and would have died anyway,” “But then I would expect you to give up your conning lifestyle and find something else, pure and legal, to do other than scamming people,” “The only reason I'm giving you this and letting you off is that I admire your confidence and bravery,” Lucien added. At this point, his voice was extremely cold. “Sure,” Julian chuckled lightly and collected the card from Lucien. He had really treated the old man, so there was no need for him to refuse the card. Without any further ado, Julian made his way out of the ward. “Don't worry, your father will wake up in about an hour from now,” Julian's voice sounded just as he was about to step out. Marcus and the other doctors froze seeing this, as they couldn't catch
From where?
Julian, on the other hand, whistled as he stepped out of his apartment, nodding slightly to the melody. After leaving the hospital, he headed directly to his apartment to change his clothes. Luckily, his cheating wife was not at home. This gave him many chances to do what he wanted. He was going to move out. But after looking around, he realized he didn't own more than four pairs of clothes. That was all he ever owned here. He had spent his life toiling away for his wife, barely doing anything for himself. But what did he get in the end? Disdain and getting his limbs broken. That was all to it. Julian clenched his fist as he thought about this, and rage flashed across his eyes. Soon, he calmed down and shook his head. He had already demanded a divorce and would have gone to get the divorce papers if Logan hadn't beaten him up. Now that he was fine, the first thing he would do was... After getting the divorce, he would head to the bank to transfer the money Lucien gave him to hi
Confess right or else!
“Huh?” Everyone in the vicinity froze hearing what Logan said. Then they stared at Julian while also stepping backwards, wondering if something was wrong with his brain. He dared to steal from the Browns? Did he even know what he was doing? Was he in his right senses? That didn't seem to be the case; else, he wouldn't have stolen from the Browns under any circumstances. “Julian, you're so disgusting. How dare you steal? I'm disappointed in you.” Lyra shook her head, disappointment written all over her face. “Disappointed in me?” Julian mused, staring at Lyra, mockery and disdain written all over his face. “Do we have anything to do with each other, or are you just being so delusional?” “Besides, I didn't steal it; one of the Browns gave it to me,” Julian added with a shrug. “Impossible!” Logan countered almost immediately, staring at the card in his hands. “You must have stolen this card; there's no way the Browns would ever give away this card,” Logan sneered, glaring at Julia
You must be mistaken
“Mr. Brown, here you are,” Jude hurried towards Lucien with a wide smile. “Jude what's happening here?” Lucien frowned slightly, his eyes darting around, wondering what was going on. “Sir, we caught the thief who stole from you,” Jude replied, a smug smile plastered on his face as he spoke. “A thief?” Lucien's expression darkened as soon as he heard this. “Stole it from me?” He muttered again, his brows narrowing into a thin line. “Yes sir.” Jude, who heard this, nodded hurriedly and stretched out the card Logan had given him. “Isn't that the reason you were coming to look for me, sir? Because someone stole from you, so you want me to be on the lookout and not let the person cash out the money,” Jude continued, giving Lucien the card. “But you need to worry not, sir, as I've already caught the person. Also, I fired the cashier who was stupid enough to cash the money out.” “I wouldn't have been able to do all of that if it were not for this young man who exposed the thief,” Jude
Throw him out!
"I knew you still loved me," Lyra rushed towards Julian wanting to hug him, but was stopped by his outstretched hands. The onlookers watched on, wondering what Julian was about to do. They had seen how Lyra had dismissed and insulted him. They couldn't help but insult him silently seeing he asked to let her go, wondering if he was a wimp."What's wrong Julian, why did you ask me to stop?" Lyra asked, looking rather confused."Didn't you ask them to stop because you didn't want to see me hurt and want me to come hug you so we can go home and have a good time, live happily for the rest of our lives?" Lyra continued, blinking as she stared at Julian."You're speaking about love, Lyra, don't you find that iconic, huh?" Julian mused as he chuckled."I..." Lyra stuttered, seemingly rather confused, panic flashed through her face.Julian was now acquainted with the Brown family and was even able to make the head of the Brown family treat him with respect. This was even more powerful than Log
No, don't
"Sir," Lucien hurriedly called the moment Julian stepped out of the hotel."Mr. Brown," Julian turned around to meet Lucien who was now panting as though he had just run a marathon."First, I would like to apologize again for what happened back there, it was as a result of my poor management," Lucien bowed slightly, apologizing to Julian."Nah, it's all fine, I don't really hold it against you," Julian answered, shaking his head.Lucien breathed in a sigh of relief hearing Julian's words. It was as though he had just been granted amnesty when he heard that. That was just too awesome and he didn't even know what to say."How's your father, has he woken up?" Julian suddenly asked, pulling Lucien out of his thoughts."He hasn't woken up yet when I left the hospital," Lucien replied, his face going red in embarrassment remembering how he had treated Julian."He'll wake up soon, you should head back and have a look," Julian chuckled and turned around to leave. There was no need to stay her
