this had to be some kind of joke.

There was no other explanation for it.

No way this was real.

I stared at the floating digital screen again, my eyes narrowing slightly as if doing that would make it disappear. Systems like this only existed in games, in novels, in anime. Not in real life. Nobody had ever come out and said something like this happened to them before.

How was this even possible?

My mind kept searching for logic, for some reasonable explanation. Maybe the hospital injected me with something. Maybe I hit my head too hard and my brain was trying to cope with everything that happened by creating illusions.
