CHAPTER 03

“Heal.”

A word from Myles’ mouth cast the sickness in the man’s body away all the way. His limbs went back to how they were before, and his strength was restored.

In shock, he stood. And in unbridled happiness, he jumped and hugged Myles and cried and shed tears cooked with warmth and gratefulness.

The guards who witnessed this were left speechless for a good few seconds.

“H-He healed the Black Doll disease just like that?”

“Only top mages can possibly heal such a serious disease, not to mention it’s in a late stage.”

“He must be an alpha mage from another city.”

No matter how many times they rubbed their eyes, the scene before them stayed the same. Their once fellow guard who had fallen sick now looked so healthy and energetic he could go for a wrestling match. It was a miracle. No. It was something much more than that. It was beyond words.

“I’m Justin. Justin Alves,” the once sick man introduced himself, wiping his tears away. “May I know my savior’s name?”

“Myles Mertzel, and I’m not your savior,” Myles replied.

“Haha, you’re the one who healed me when the world left me to rot and die,” Justin humbly stated, “so you’re my savior.”

“I didn’t heal you for free,” Myles responded. “You earned it through your actions, so you saved yourself.”

“My actions?” Justin couldn’t wrap his head around what Myles said, but this wasn’t the time to argue, he thought. “Anyway, I don’t know why you’re here, but if you’re looking for a place, I can help you crash at my place.”

Myles paused for a second and said, “I don’t want to crash your place, but if you mean you want me to stay at your place, then… lead the way.”

“Yeah. You definitely are not local,” Justin led him to the border wall.

“Hold on, Justin,” one of the two guards wielding magic guns blocked their paths. “We can’t let you in until the medical staff gives clearance.”

Justin frowned and looked at Myles who said he could wait. Myles could see that the guards were suffering from minor ailments, but he acted like he didn’t see them.

The guards kept peering at Myles, almost suspiciously. “We need to identify you, sir. Can you tell us your name?”

“Myles Mertzel,” said Justin.

One of the guards captured Myles’ image using a wrist projector and then checked for his identity. “It says you’re Phil Gabriel. Age 26. Works as a private escort in Liger city.”

“That’s the identity of this body,” replied Myles, patiently.

The guards looked at each other once before looking at him. “We’ve heard about gender identity. What the fuck is this body identity? Do we look like fools?”

“You abandoned your friend after he got sick,” Myles sharply stared into their eyes, “so you’re worse than fools.”

They frowned for a second before gritting their teeths. “You bastard. A mere escort dares to mock us border guards?” one of them pointed his gun at Myles.

Myles’ expression turned serious. “You better think before you act.”

“We border guards have the right to kill any suspicious person,” the guard put his finger on the trigger. “Apologize to us, or I’ll leave a hole bigger than the girth of your dick in your forehead.”

Tensions rose faster than the waves in the background.

“I don’t think you know how big my penis is,” said Myles, completely twisting and tangling the tense atmosphere. The guards’ expressions froze. If not for the situation, Justin might have burst into laughter, but now, sweat fought for spots on his forehead. “I think you should…”

As Myles was saying, the guard noticed Myles starting to lift his finger.

“I don’t think so,” the guard pulled the trigger.
