Chapter 1
The Fall of the Emperor
The sky split open as nine colored lightning tore across the heavens, and the Heaven Ascension Altar was filled with millions of cultivators watching from below.
The world's strongest sect masters, emperors, and saints had all come to witness the first person attempting to ascend beyond Heaven, their gazes fixed on a lone figure standing atop the ancient stone platform at the summit. He was Lin Yuan, the youngest and strongest Heavenly Emperor in recorded history, the man who had unified the cultivation world, the only cultivator to stand at the absolute peak of the Nine Heavens. Today he would attempt what no living being had ever accomplished — to step beyond Heaven. As the tribulation clouds gathered, Lin Yuan stood silently atop the ancient platform, his gaze fixed on the Heavenly Gate slowly taking shape above the endless sea of clouds before him. A pair of gentle hands smoothed the folds of his white robe. "You've never cared about your appearance," a soft voice said with a faint smile. "If you're going to become the first immortal beyond Heaven, at least let history remember you looking presentable." Lin Yuan turned and smiled. Standing before him was Mu Xue, the woman who had walked beside him for over a thousand years. To him, she wasn't merely his wife she was all he had. Lin Yuan gently took her hand and touched her hair. "When I return," he said, "I'll take you beyond Heaven with me." Her eyes shimmered as though holding back tears. "I'll wait for you," she said, squeezing his hand tightly. "No matter how long it takes." Before Lin Yuan could reply, a booming laugh echoed across the platform. "You two still act like newlyweds after all these centuries." A tall man in white robes walked over, carrying a wine gourd in his hand. It was Shen Luo, his sworn brother. He uncorked the gourd and tossed it toward Lin Yuan. "One last drink before you become someone I can't even call my brother anymore." Lin Yuan caught it effortlessly and laughed. "No matter where I go, you'll always be my brother." Shen Luo grinned. "I'll remember those words." A calm, aged voice interrupted them. "Enough." An elderly man with snow-white hair stepped forward, his hands clasped behind his back, and the moment he appeared, the surrounding spiritual energy became tranquil. It was Venerable Tianxu, the man who had raised Lin Yuan from childhood, his master. "You have already surpassed me," the old man said with pride. "Today, you carry not only your own hopes, but the hopes of every cultivator beneath Heaven." Lin Yuan bowed deeply. "If not for Master's guidance, this disciple would never have reached this day." The old man smiled warmly. "I've always known you would surpass us all." For a brief moment, everything was perfect. The woman he loved stood at his side, his sworn brother smiled without reservation, and his master looked upon him with pride. If someone had asked Lin Yuan what true happiness was, he would have pointed to this very moment. The heavens trembled, and a deafening roar echoed across the world as the endless tribulation clouds parted. Golden light poured from the opening in the sky, illuminating Heaven's End Peak like the dawn of creation itself, and above the sea of clouds, a colossal gate slowly descended. It was ancient beyond measure. Countless runes shimmered across its surface, each one radiating an aura that surpassed the Great Dao, and merely looking at it caused countless cultivators to feel as though their souls were being drawn from their bodies. The Gate Beyond Heaven had opened, and an awed silence fell over the world. Then a voice rang out. "The Heavenly Gate has appeared!" "It actually exists!" "He succeeded!" One by one, the great powers lowered their heads in respect, witnessing the birth of a legend. Lin Yuan slowly closed his eyes. For thousands of years he had walked this path. He took a slow breath and stepped toward the Heavenly Gate, and the world held its breath. A gentle hand suddenly grasped his sleeve. Lin Yuan stopped and looked back. Mu Xue stood behind him, her eyes glistening with tears, a faint smile blooming on her lips. "You promised," she said, "that you'd come back for me." Lin Yuan smiled softly. "I never break my promises." She stepped closer until only a single breath separated them, then wrapped her arms around him. For a moment, Lin Yuan simply embraced her in return, thinking it was a farewell. Then a sharp, icy pain exploded through his chest. A blade pierced straight through his heart, and Lin Yuan's body froze, his pupils contracting as warm blood trickled from the corner of his lips. He slowly lowered his head. A black dagger, covered in ancient crimson runes, protruded from his chest, having pierced not only his heart, but his soul. He looked up at Mu Xue, disbelief filling his eyes. "...Why?" Her gentle smile was gone, replaced by a cold expression he had never seen before, her crimson lips curving into a faint smile. "Thank you," she said, "for perfecting the Origin Scripture for us." Lin Yuan stared at the black dagger protruding from his chest as warm blood flowed down the pristine white robes that had once symbolized the dignity of the Heavenly Emperor. His mind went blank. He could feel his life force draining away, but the pain in his heart was nothing compared to the disbelief in his eyes as he looked at Mu Xue, the woman he had loved for over a thousand years. "...Why?" he whispered again. Mu Xue slowly withdrew the dagger, its crimson runes glowing brighter as they devoured his divine blood, her expression calm. "So you can finally ask that question." Lin Yuan's breathing became ragged. "I loved you..." A faint smile appeared on her lips, but there wasn't a trace of warmth within it. "Loved me?" She shook her head. "Lin Yuan... everything you believed was a lie. I was never your wife. I was only the one chosen to remain closest to you." Before Lin Yuan could speak, a terrifying force erupted behind him — a fist carrying enough power to shatter stars crashed into his back. His spine fractured and blood sprayed into the air as he was thrown forward. He turned in disbelief. "Shen... Luo..." His sworn brother lowered his fist and sighed. "You were always too trusting. You treated me like your brother, but every time the world praised you, I was nothing more than the Heavenly Emperor's shadow. For thousands of years I smiled while standing behind you." He met Lin Yuan's eyes. "Today, my shadow finally disappears." Before Lin Yuan could stabilize himself, an overwhelming pressure descended from above, and the surrounding space instantly froze. His spiritual energy refused to move, and his Divine Soul became completely sealed. An old man slowly walked forward, every step echoing through Heaven's End Peak. Lin Yuan's eyes trembled. "...Master..." Venerable Tianxu looked at him. "You have done well. You perfected the Origin Scripture. You reached the realm no one else could. You fulfilled your purpose." Lin Yuan's voice trembled. "...Purpose?" The old man nodded. "Did you truly believe a mere orphan could obtain a cultivation technique that even Heaven could not comprehend? We found you. We guided you. We protected you. We watched you grow. Everything was so that one day," he paused, "you would perfect the Origin Scripture for us." Lin Yuan's hands shook as he realized that all he had achieved was part of someone else's plan. Venerable Tianxu looked toward Mu Xue and Shen Luo. "The time has come. Extract the Origin Scripture from his soul." Mu Xue raised the soul-sealing dagger once more, and Shen Luo stepped forward. The three people Lin Yuan trusted more than his own life surrounded him, and for the first time since becoming the Heavenly Emperor, Lin Yuan understood what true despair felt like. Mu Xue drove the Soul-Sealing Dagger deeper into Lin Yuan's chest. Crimson runes spread across his body like living chains, binding his flesh, soul, and Dao. Shen Luo pressed his palm against Lin Yuan's back, pouring endless spiritual power into the formation beneath Heaven's End Peak, and the entire mountain erupted with blinding light. Venerable Tianxu slowly formed a series of ancient seals. "Origin Extraction Formation... Activate." A pillar of light shot into the heavens. Countless ancient runes emerged from Lin Yuan's body, swirling around him like stars, and everyone watched with anticipation. The Origin Scripture was finally about to reveal itself. One breath passed, then another. Nothing happened. Venerable Tianxu frowned. "Impossible." He changed the hand seals, and the formation roared louder. The Soul-Sealing Dagger trembled violently, but still nothing happened. Then it split apart, and the formation exploded into countless fragments. Shen Luo was blasted backward, coughing blood. Mu Xue staggered several steps, disbelief filling her face. Even Venerable Tianxu's expression changed. "It rejected us..." Before anyone could react, an aura erupted from the depths of Lin Yuan's soul, and a voice echoed through eternity. "You sought Heaven... but Heaven was never the end. Return... find the Origin." Lin Yuan's dim eyes slowly brightened as a forgotten memory surfaced from the deepest corner of his soul an ancient forbidden art he had never dared to use. The Origin Reincarnation Art. A faint smile appeared on his bloodstained face as he looked at the three people who had betrayed him. "This debt," he said, "I will collect it. Even if Heaven itself stands in my way." His soul burst into countless streams of light. "No!" Venerable Tianxu's calm expression shattered. "Stop him!" Mu Xue reached out desperately, and Shen Luo lunged forward, but it was too late. The streams of light vanished into the endless void, and darkness consumed everything. Lin Yuan suddenly gasped, his eyes flying open. The scent of old wood filled his nose, and morning sunlight streamed through a familiar window. He slowly looked down at his young, unscarred hands. Then he heard a voice from outside the room. "Young Master Lin Yuan! Hurry! The Awakening Ceremony is about to begin!" Lin Yuan froze, and a long silence followed. "I'm back."Expand

Origin beyond heaven The Last Origin Heir
The underground hall fell silent as Lin Yuan stared at the old man kneeling before him, while the spirit remained motionless, his head bowed in respect. The only sound was the faint hum of the Origin Scripture floating above the black altar. After a long moment, Lin Yuan finally spoke. "You said... they are coming." His eyes remained fixed on the spirit. "Who are they?" Guardian Mo Chen slowly rose to his feet, his weathered face calm, but with a trace of solemnity in his eyes. "You are not ready to know." Lin Yuan frowned. "I was once a Heavenly Emperor." Mo Chen shook his head. "In this era, that title commands respect. But in the eyes of those beings, it is merely the beginning." Lin Yuan's heart trembled. In his previous life, he had believed that the Heavenly Emperor Realm stood at the absolute peak of cultivation. Countless geniuses had spent their entire lives chasing that realm, yet none had ever surpassed it. Now, the guardian before him spoke of it as though it were in

A strand of pale gray Origin Qi flowed back into his dantian before disappearing completely. He exhaled softly. Compared to the previous night, his cultivation had not advanced by even the slightest bit, yet he could clearly feel that the single strand of Origin Qi within his body had become denser. One strand of Origin Qi was worth dozens of strands of ordinary Heavenly Qi.He rose to his feet and stretched his body, his gaze falling upon the wooden table in the courtyard, where several sheets of paper lay neatly arranged. These were the notes he had written after his reincarnation, every fragment of memory he could still recall recorded on them before time could erase them.He picked up the top page, his eyes slowly scanning each line, then stopped.Spirit Mountain.
