“Oh, just go, Marvin. Hurry up and leave! Our conversation was over earlier!” Melanie urged.

Marvin looked at Melanie, his chest heavy. Everything he had done and given to Melanie flashed through his mind. And suddenly, it all shattered into tiny pieces.

Without saying a word, Marvin turned around and left, walking out of the luxurious restaurant.

“Where do you think you are going?”

Two men suddenly appeared as he descended the stairs at the restaurant’s entrance, waiting for him precisely at the bottom. They were the debt collectors who had repeatedly banged on Marvin’s flat door for the past two weeks.

Marvin paused, confused as to how they knew he was there, and continued down the stairs. The two debt collectors glared at him menacingly. Their large, muscular arms were folded across their chests.

“You haven’t paid your debt, boy. Your deadline has passed,” said the debt collector on the right, who had a shaved head.

“You have to pay it right now, or you’ll face the consequences,” said the other, with short hair.

Marvin stood before them and took a long breath. He had just lost the woman he loved, the person who had been the center and purpose of his life for the past three years. And now, he had to face the bitter reality that he couldn’t pay off his debt.

“I… I can’t pay it right now,” Marvin said. “I don’t have the money–”

Slap!

A hard slap landed on his cheek. It was delivered by the bald one.

And it was followed by two more slaps.

Slap! Slap!

Marvin staggered. The corner of his lips bled.

“You said you don’t have the money? In that case, you’ll have to come with us somewhere,” said the bald one.

Marvin had just lifted his face when he saw the short-haired one swing his fist, aiming for his face.

Thump!

The hard fist landed squarely on target. Marvin blinked, dazed, then collapsed. He passed out.

When he later regained consciousness, he smelled damp air. He faintly heard the sound of water. And he couldn’t move his hands and feet.

“Hey, look. He’s awake.”

Marvin turned towards the source of the voice, finding the short-haired one grinning smugly. He was tying a rope to a large iron block. The lower half of his face was covered by a black cloth.

“It’s a coincidence you’re awake. Want to say your goodbyes, boy?” the bald one asked, sneering.

The bald one was wearing black gloves, also covering the lower half of his face with a black cloth.

“W-what are you doing? W-where am I? W-what are you going to do to me?”

Marvin tried with all his might to loosen the ropes binding his hands and feet, but it was useless. His eyes widened. Whatever these two debt collectors were going to do to him, it was clearly something very bad.

“We’re going to drown you in this lake,” the bald one said.

“W-what…? D-drown me…? W-why…?”

“This is a request from the man who kicked you out at the restaurant. He paid each of us 5 million dollars to do this,” the short-haired one replied.

“That’s right,” the bald one chimed in. “And of course, he’ll pay off your debt. So, I guess you should thank him. At least you’ll die without leaving any debts.”

The bald one grinned wickedly. Marvin knew these two were absolutely serious about what they were saying.

But why? Why would they do this for Alex? Could it be…

“Did Alex tell you I was at the restaurant earlier?” Marvin asked.

“Yeah, that’s right,” the bald one answered, raising an eyebrow.

Marvin took a deep breath. His chest felt full again. Anger, hatred, resentment, fear. It all mixed into one.

“Goodbye, boy. Rest in peace,” the bald one said.

The two men then pushed the large black iron block. In seconds, Marvin felt his body being pulled very strongly, and a moment later, he plunged into the cold water, sinking rapidly.

Bubbles escaped from Marvin’s mouth. He tried with all his might to move his arms and legs, but it wasn’t enough. He continued to sink without resistance.

‘Will my life end here?’

‘I lost the woman I love. My money is gone. My pride was trampled without me being able to fight back.’

‘And now I’m being drowned in this deep lake, and there’s nothing I can do.’

‘But… I still don’t want to die. I still want to live. I want… I want to make the people who treated me badly regret it…’

Marvin could barely feel his body anymore. He closed his eyes. He desperately wanted to scream loudly, but now even drawing a breath was difficult.

If this continued, he would lose consciousness, then die.

However, suddenly…

  • Do I Look Like I'm Joking?

High in a penthouse at the city’s heart, Alex and Melanie moved together with fierce intensity upon the wide, broad bed.“Ohh… ohh… so deep…”Melanie rode above him, rising and falling, her hands kneading her own breasts. Alex growled low, his palms roaming over her hips and belly. This had not been planned. She had been waiting for him the moment he walked through the door—pulling him down, kissing him hungrily, before he could even speak. Moments later they were naked in bed, bodies joined, moving with desperate, burning need.It was fast, hard, and breathless. In less than half an hour they reached their peak together, as one. Melanie fell away to lie beside him, chest heaving.“Not like you to be so aggressive,” Alex said, glancing at her with a faint, knowing smirk. “Something troubling you?”Normally it was Alex who took charge—who was the more demanding, the more forceful, the wilder of the two.And his guess was right. Melanie was angry. Furious, in fact.“This afternoon… I we

  • Manage Your Expectations

The ordeal at the two‑storey house with the wide garage was finally over. Walter ordered his men to dispose of the bodies of Baron and Josh. Marvin turned his full attention to Emily and Lisa.“So you are Emily’s cousin? And you came here to escape your stepfather?” Marvin asked.“That’s right. More or less,” Lisa replied. Her gaze still carried a trace of suspicion. But after all Marvin had done for her, her manner was no longer cold.Marvin glanced at Emily. “You intend to take her to your flat? She’ll live with you there… until she finds somewhere to stay?”Emily looked at Lisa. “We haven’t discussed it yet. We barely had time to speak before that tall, big man appeared. So for now… yes. I’ll take her home with me.”Marvin nodded and looked back at Lisa. She was so young, and so timid. In a busy city like Murndale, she was exactly the kind of woman predators preyed upon.“Then let me drive you there. Should we go now?”Emily and Lisa looked at each other and nodded, almost in uniso

  • Any Last Words?

It was none other than Walter. He strode down the steps into the basement. Though he carried no pistol or weapon of any kind, his presence alone bore down on the Black Skull members like a weight.Baron was less shaken, yet his eyes blazed with clear alarm. He turned to face his boss.“Baron, what the hell were you doing here? What did I order you to do?” Walter’s voice boomed, sharp and commanding. He fixed Baron with a glare that could have cut steel.Baron opened his mouth… then closed it again, swallowing hard. “You told me to bring these guys here… to help Marvin, Boss.”“Then what in heaven’s name do I see? Why are they pointing guns at him?!”“That is because…” Baron paused, searching for a plausible lie. But then he thought, why lie any longer? This could be the right moment to make Walter see the truth, that Marvin did not belong in the Black Skull.“Because…?” Walter’s voice cracked like a whip. He stood fully upon the basement floor now.Baron drew a breath. “So sorry, Bos

  • No Better Option

Marvin narrowed his eyes, standing and scanning every man there. These were unmistakably the members of the Black Skull. Yet by their stance and the look in their eyes, they answered entirely to Baron.“This is not surprising at all,” Marvin said calmly. “I expected this moment to come.”Baron smirked and stepped forward slowly. “We have unfinished business. Now seems like the perfect time to settle it.”Marvin replied nothing. He only offered a cold, knowing smile of his own.“Marvin… aren’t these… the same men who caused trouble at the Bowl of Heaven the other day?” Emily asked, her voice tight with alarm.Marvin glanced at her briefly. She was sitting close to Lisa—who looked bewildered, still struggling to understand what was happening.“Stay right where you are, both of you. Don’t worry. You’ll be safe,” Marvin told them, steady and unshaken. He turned his gaze back to Baron and his men. If this was to be the fight… then so be it. He would not hesitate to kill them—Baron above al

  • Too Soon To Feel Relieved

Half an hour had passed since Walter dropped away from the black SUV. He leaned back and lit his third cigarette, smoke curling into the air.‘Something is not right,’ he told himself. His mind had been fixed on Marvin ever since, wondering what state he was in. Had he won the fight? Had he found the woman he came for? However strong Marvin was, Walter’s worry would not fade. Marvin had gone in blind with rage. And he knew more than anyone, anger could be a fatal flaw.‘I hope this is just a foolish thought of mine,’ Walter thought. But the feeling clung to him, stubborn as ever. With every exhale of smoke, he pictured Marvin down there, alone. He only hoped Baron had moved fast, sending his men to help him.Meanwhile, Baron had just arrived at the two‑storey house with the wide garage. He stood in the yard with some twenty members of the Black Skull—all armed with pistols. Baron had drawn his own and racked the slide. His gaze settled on the black SUV parked before the closed garag

  • Rest In Hell

The bullets tore toward him, fast and true—at a range where no one should ever have stood unscathed.Marvin should have crumpled then, bleeding out. Instead he stood perfectly still. One hand rose before him, clenched as though catching something.Josh’s eyes bulged. He could not believe what he was seeing. Marvin stood untouched, unmoved. Where had every bullet gone?“Surprised?” Marvin sneered. “Confused?”He opened his palm, and a handful of bullets clattered to the floor.“What the hell…”Josh stared in utter disbelief. Marvin lowered his hand and kept walking forward.“You’d better brace yourself, because I will beat you within an inch of your life… before I finish you off,” Marvin said, his voice cold as ice.Having caught every round fired at him, he knew he already won this fight. The System had done far more than cloak him; it had sharpened his speed to something beyond human comprehension.“No way this is happening! This must be some kind of trick,” Josh muttered, blinking h
