“What did you just call me?" Zhou asked angrily, pointing at Jasper. He looked like he was going to attack Jasper any moment from now but Jasper didn't bother about him. Instead, he looked at Bai Zhe,

“Let's go."

Bai Zhe nodded and wanted to leave the store but Zhou blocked his way.

" Where do you think you're going?” He asked, "Do you think you can insult me and leave just like that?”

"Fuck off, Zhou!” Jasper hissed. He didn't want to argue because he didn't have time to spend here in the herb shop. He still had a lot to do with Bai Zhe but Zhou was getting on his nerves and he didn't know how long he could hold on.

Seeing that Jasper was getting really upset about this and not fighting back, Zhou burst into laughter. Pointing at Jasper, he mocked,

“Why? You cannot fight back.” He laughed, " How can you? After all, you're now a broke poor guy.”

Bai Zhe looked at Jasper. He wanted to see what Jasper would do. He knew that if Zhou knew what Jasper had spent on the herbs, he wouldn

  • Family. Money. Time

Jasper left the company alone. He didn’t hurry. There was no reason to. Everything he needed done had been set in motion, and Jackson would handle the rest. Jasper stepped into the car, closed the door, and let the silence settle. The city outside moved as usual, unaware, uninterested. That was fine.Just as the car pulled away from the building, a familiar sound echoed in his head.A cold, mechanical voice.[Hidden mission completed.][Reward issued: One hundred billion.]Jasper blinked. The car continued moving, but for a brief moment, his focus shifted entirely inward.“One hundred billion?” he said quietly. The System didn’t repeat itself. It never did.Jasper leaned back against the seat, lips curling into a smile he didn’t bother hiding. It wasn’t wide. It wasn’t exaggerated. Just satisfied.“So that’s how it is,” he murmured.A hidden mission. No warning. No buildup. Just results. His fingers tapped lightly against his knee as his thoughts raced ahead. With that amount of money

  • Long Game

(A Week Later)It had been a week since Jasper sent his men to Ashford.Too quiet of a week.He stood by the window of his office, phone in his hand, staring at the screen like it might suddenly explain itself. No missed calls. No new messages. Nothing from the team he sent to set up the branch.Jasper didn’t like silence when he was expecting movement. He turned away from the window and sat down, placing the phone on the desk. His expression didn’t change, but his mind was already running through possibilities. Delays were normal. Problems weren’t. And the problem was that he didn’t know which one this was.His phone buzzed. He picked it up immediately. It was Jasmine. He answered without hesitation. “Talk.”Her voice came through steady, but alert. “I wanted to update you.”“Go on.”“There’s been activity,” she said. “A lot of it.”Jasper leaned back slightly. “Which families?”She paused for a second. “Most of them. The Greens. The Wiltons. Even the Hawthorne family sent someone.”

  • They'll answer to Ashford

The room fell quiet after Jasper spoke. Not the awkward kind. The thinking kind.Jasmine was the first to react, though it was subtle. Her brows drew together slightly as she looked at him, trying to line up what he had just said with what she thought she understood.Sophia tilted her head, arms folding slowly. “What do you mean by that?” she asked. “Other families?”Jasper didn’t answer immediately. He leaned back in his seat, one leg crossing over the other, his expression calm. Too calm. The kind that usually meant he had already gone several steps ahead.“Think about it,” he said at last. “If word spreads that someone can cure what doctors cannot, do you think only one family will come knocking?”Jasmine blinked.Sophia’s lips parted slightly, then pressed together again.Jasper continued, voice even. “The Brown family isn’t special in that regard. They’re just the closest. The most obvious.”“You’re saying—” Jasmine began, then stopped. He nodded. “I’m saying Ashford won’t stay q

  • Allies

Sophia, who had been listening quietly during the planning, leaned back in her chair and nodded slowly. She had a sharp mind and rarely gave her approval lightly. “The plan… it’s solid,” she said. “Flawless, even. But, Jasper… it does have risks.”Her tone was calm, measured, but there was an edge of concern that he couldn’t miss. “What kind of risks?” he asked, already guessing the answer.Sophia’s eyes met his, direct and steady. “Jasmine could be intercepted. Abducted, perhaps. Or forced into delivering the message under pressure. Then the whole plan falls apart, no matter how carefully it’s crafted.”Jasper smiled faintly, a small curl of amusement at the corner of his mouth. Not a full smile, just enough to show he appreciated her concern. “I’ve thought of all that,” he said, voice calm. “Everything you just mentioned… already accounted for.”Sophia blinked slightly, leaning forward in surprise. “You did?”“Of course,” Jasper said, tilting his head slightly. “That’s why Jasmine w

  • Ulterior motive

Jasper stepped into the house quietly, the soft click of the door behind him barely registering. The day had been long, full of meetings, discussions, and planning, and he felt the weight of it on his shoulders. Yet, there was no rest for him. Not yet. Not when the next steps were already forming in his mind.Jasmine looked up from where she was seated at the dining table, her pen paused over a notebook filled with figures and notes. “You’re back early,” she said, a small smile tugging at her lips.“I need you to do something for me,” Jasper said immediately, letting his coat fall to the floor. He moved toward the table, not taking a seat, just standing there, waiting for her reaction.Jasmine arched an eyebrow, curiosity immediately piqued. “Oh? And what would that be?” she asked, setting her pen down.Jasper’s gaze didn’t waver. “I want to buy a land in Ashford,” he said simply. “I need you to go and handle it for me.”Jasmine blinked, leaning back slightly in her chair. “Why me? Wh

  • Plan in motion

Michael sat across from Jasper in the quiet office of the hotel. He rubbed his chin, frowning slightly. His mind moved quickly, running through possibilities, risks, and options. Jasper didn’t rush him. He rarely did. He just sat back, arms folded lightly, observing, waiting. Finally, Michael spoke. “Since that’s the case,” he began slowly, “I’ll need to look into the companies that could handle this for us. I’ll check all of them, see which ones are reliable, which ones have the experience to get it right. There’s a lot at stake, and we can’t make mistakes here.”Jasper nodded once, simple and firm. He didn’t need to say anything else. Michael knew exactly what he meant.“And,” Michael continued, hesitating a little as he thought through the next step, “you might need to head to the capital of the country. From what I’ve gathered, it’s possible that only there will you find the family with the skills and knowledge to do these designs properly. They’re the only ones I’ve seen that can
