Ex Jealousy

Elena stared horribly at Alex, as she shot him daggers with her eyes. She couldn't believe what just happened. How could Alex slap her? What could have prompted such despicable action from him? She was the victim, yet she was the one getting slapped by her proclaimed lover.

 She was so hurt that tears almost dropped from her eyes. She wanted to say something but when she noticed the deadly stare from Alex, she kept mute.

Alex bowed to the girl respectfully and apologized," My lady, I'm very sorry for the ill character of my girlfriend. Please forgive us".  

Alex knew he had to respect the lady because she was from a family he could not toy with. Toying with a  member of the Rowland family meant digging his own grave. He was a trained businessman, and he knew the people involved in business administration in the city, so he had to give regard to those in high ranks. He had to drop his ego to save his business.

Lilly did not even acknowledge his filthy apology. She knew he was just pretending to save himself from her family's wrath, so she knew it was fake. Rather she smiled at Lucas lovingly to make a request.

" Erm Lucas, I would like to invite you over for dinner at my house today. I will be grateful if you can come, please don't say No." She said, batting her eyelashes at Lucas.

This tactic always works with men, so she knew Lucas would not resist her invitation, except his body was made of firewood.

Lucas smiled seeing her doll eyes. Who could resist that kind of eyes? If she did that to convince him to accept the invite, she had succeeded already.

Before he could reply to her, Elena, who was getting irritated with their display couldn't take it anymore, so she yelled at the top of her voice;

" You want to invite this homeless idiot to your house? He is a poor wretched man who has nothing to offer you but to add to your problems. He can never be useful for anything in life, so don't waste your energy on him. He doesn't even have any family to call his own", Elena kept ranting unnecessarily.

These despicable actions made Alex embarrassed and angry. He felt he could get something to shut his lover up.

This equally made Lilly angry, then she ordered her bodyguards to shut her up.

" Guys, do something to make this lady shut her mouth, please. Her voice is irritating me. She is nothing but a pest right now. She has caused enough disturbance already"

Elena immediately became terrified, she looked scared. She was shaking vigorously. She looked up to Alex, silently asking for help, but he didn't look bothered. She realized she had bitten more than she could chew. Her cup was already full this time.

" One of the bodyguards walked up to her. He dragged her to himself before giving her a thunderous slap. The effect of the slap landed her on the ground. A shattering sound was heard and she yelled out immediately. The pain was so strong that she started crying uncontrollably while holding her ears. The aftermath of the slap was unbearable.

Alex did not even pity her. He knew her saucy mouth would land her in trouble one day, but he didn't know it could be this early. He just rolled his eyes and hissed at her.

" That serves you right", he spat angrily at her on the ground.

Elena did not stop crying on the ground.

" Elena, you have suffered. You are being punished without any offense. See how I am being dashed and slapped from different dimensions. What did I do to deserve this? I was only stating the obvious about Lucas. I was trying to be a good Samaritan by saving the girl from being acquainted with a poverty-stricken person like Lucas, yet she was blinded by the fact that he saved her" Elena thought to herself. She dared not share her thoughts.

As she was yelling on the ground, she kept wondering how Lucas met someone as powerful as the girl. A girl who could do anything to protect him, yet Alex who claimed to love her was watching her getting brutalized by the girl and his men. She didn't even know what to do anymore, the humiliation was too much, and she couldn't stop crying.

Lilly looked at her angrily, She flared up and she said to her." This man here is my savior. He was there to rescue me when I was left with no hope. If everyone possesses the kind of mindset you harbor, nobody will be left alive. Seeing the act you display here, shows how evil you are." 

" This is unbelievable. How can someone have this much hatred for a fellow human like her? This woman is wicked" Elena thought, then she moved closer to Elena and said, "If you don't stop yelling, I will ask my boys to silence you forever. They will bundle you and feed your bones to the dogs", she threatened.

Elena looked petrified, so she kept shut immediately. She was afraid of death, so she stopped crying.

Lilly moved back to Lucas, she persuaded him to leave with her. She also urged him to pay deaf ears to all his ex's ranting.

" Please let's leave here. Don't take her words seriously. I can see she is bittered. Being an oppressor, she doesn't want her victim to be happy. So leave for karma to catch up with her." She left while holding Lucas's arm 

Her bodyguards followed them, but one of them pretended to slap Elena to scare her more. Elena crawled into a corner and she dared not say anything.

After she made sure they had left, she started cursing Alex.

" You!! Stupid useless man, despite all your braggings, you stood here like an idiot, watching them battered me. What kind of a man are you, You could not even protect your woman, wicked man"

Alex stared at her annoyingly," Will you shut your dirty mouth this minute? That girl is from a reputable family in this city. No one dares to drag anything with them, or else you want to be perished. You almost got us killed because of your running mouth. Learn to make use of your brain before you talk next time.. . Please. I don't want to die because of your ignorance"

" Will you get up and let's leave here? Or do you want to sleep here?

Elena got terrified by the kind of tone Alex used on her. He had never spoken to her in such a manner. She quietly dragged herself up and followed Alex. She realized Lucas had no relationship with the powerful girl, he was just her savior. So she thought there would be another opportunity for her to get her revenge on Lucas. She couldn't just be humiliated for nothing.
