13. Are You Disable?

Sharon, who was not used to rejection, was not happy. She stepped closer to Danny and looked him up and down.

'Hmm, he's quite handsome, and his body is quite good. It's a pity he's so poor, and his clothes are so bad.' Sharon paused momentarily, then took a long breath and thought, 'But it doesn't matter; I can still use him for fun.'

Danny squinted his eyes and wondered why someone like Sharon would pay much attention to him. Was it possible that this woman was mentally ill?

"Hmm, what's your name?" asked Sharon Bennet firmly but teasingly. This woman seemed to still be curious about Danny.

"Oh, Danny Raphael," Danny replied briefly and glanced at Sharon only, clearly uninterested in her.

"Hey, Danny, behave yourself. This is the Majestic Hotel, not a street. don't be so rude here!" Desmond warned.

But Danny didn't care about his word; he was still cold toward Sharon. Meanwhile, the woman was becoming increasingly curious. She noticed Danny again and lifted her chin, showing her long neck.

"Your attitude of rejecting me is rude, but after I heard the news about you saying that you are very good at fighting, I thought of giving you a way out. It's not very fun to be blocked off from the whole city, is it?" asked Sharon in a half-mocking tone.

Danny turned to face Sharon and folded his arms across his chest. "You're giving me a way out? What do you mean?"

Sharon smiled kindly, "I want to give you the opportunity to become a personal bodyguard. In a year, you can earn 50,000 dollars. You'll also get meals and drive a luxury car. What do you think?"

Upon hearing Sharon's offer, the entire ballroom looked astonished. Especially the Huxley family. Why was she trying to protect Danny? Did that man deserve this?

Matthew, watching Sharon, turned to his grandmother and started protesting. "Grandma, why is she helping that loser? Don't we have a good relationship with her? She should be helping us!"

"Right, Grandma, don't let her oppose us!" Laura joined the protest.

But Grandmother remained silent and watched what would happen next. "We'll see about that. Now, you two should learn from Miss Bennet, who can hold an important position in a big company."

Laura and Matthew looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. They really didn't understand what the Huxley family's number one thought.

"Oh yeah?" Danny chuckled and asked again," Oh, just tell me what you want. You're certainly not giving this way out for free, right?"

Sharon smiled slightly and started clapping her hands. "Ha ha, you're pretty smart, I thought you were a dumb bum."

Sharon paused and said, "Well, I'll tell you what. I'm giving you a chance on the condition that you kneel down and apologize to all the members of the Huxley family, especially Great Mrs. Huxley and your wife. Then I'll give you this chance."

"Oh," Danny replied briefly.

"Now, what you gonna say?" Sharon asked again.

Danny shook his head, "I don't want it."

Once again, Danny stunned the guests. Although he had been blocked in almost every industry, he refused Sharon Bennet's offer to be her bodyguard.

Everyone really didn't understand Danny's way of thinking. He had the opportunity to work for a beautiful and classy woman and earn a very high annual salary.

Didn't the young man think that this was a rare opportunity? Didn't he think about his life after being completely divorced from Laura Huxley?

Sharon was wide-eyed again, "What are you saying?"

Danny brought his face closer to Sharon's ear and said more loudly. "I rejected it!"

"Ouch!" Sharon rubbed her ears with her palms. Danny's shouting really hurt her.

"Danny, where are your manners towards Miss Bennet?" Desmond shouted, pointing at him.

Danny then glanced at Sharon and waved his hand with a faint smile, "Miss Bennet, I think you should see a doctor to check your hearing loss. I'm afraid that if this continues, you'll really lose your hearing. I'm sorry I scared you by yelling; I did it because you didn't hear what I said."

Sharon pointed at Danny. This time, she was distraught with him. She didn't think a matrilocal son-in-law would dare to refuse and even humiliate her in public.

The brunette woman bit her lip, and her breathing rose and fell. "Danny, you're..."

"What about me?" asked Danny defiantly.

"You're really brave! Okay, this is all you asked for! Don't blame me if I make a decision that makes you uncomfortable!" Sharon exclaimed while making a fist.

Sharon was still curious about Danny. But her anger was greater than her curiosity.

Now, she thought, there was no point in being nice to Danny. It was inappropriate to be kind to an ungrateful man like Danny.

This time, Sharon stepped closer to Mrs. Huxley, bowed respectfully, and said again. "Mrs. Huxley, I have thought about everything. Seeing the attitude of the son-in-law who only lives in your family, I have decided to support the Huxley family."

Sharon paused momentarily, glanced at Danny, and gave him a cynical look. Then she raised her face and began to roar. "I, Sharon Bennet, Vice President of the Phoenix Group, declare that Danny will be banned from all companies under the Phoenix Crest Group. I also forbid all companies from giving him a security guard position!"

After Sharon said this, all the guests cheered. The Huxley family seemed satisfied with Miss Bennet's decision. Even Grandma gave her a thumbs-up.

Matthew glanced sarcastically at Danny and began to sneer, "Humph! An ungrateful rascal, you've been given a golden opportunity, but you threw it away and chose to live on the streets. Now, just enjoy your choice!"

The people near Matthew laughed mockingly when they heard what the grandson of the Huxley family said. Then they turned to Danny and made fun of him.

"Got you, Danny!"

"You're found on the streets, and you'll end up on the streets too!" quipped another.
