24. Accidentally Encounters

"Hurry up and ask the receptionist about him!" Laura ordered Tom while she sat in the lobby, looking around and monitoring.

"Anything for you, Princess," Tom replied, going straight to the reception desk and showing Danny's photo to get information about the room the man had booked. As well as book a room for him and Laura.

However, finding information about Laura's ex-husband's whereabouts was difficult. This time, Tom didn't push the receptionist; he realized that finding a guest's whereabouts based on a small-resolution photo was very difficult.

"Alright, if you see the person I'm looking for, call me immediately!" Tom then winked and handed over a business card with three-hundred-dollar bills underneath.

'Huh! Those lowlifes certainly won't refuse my gift, it's easier to ask them for help than someone like Fred Nelson.'

"You take it easy, Sir. I will definitely inform you of the whereabouts of the man you are referring to. Here are your room keys. Have a good rest, and I'll ask the bellhop to escort you and bring you your luggage," the receptionist said again.

But Tom shook his head. "No need. I still want to be in the lobby!" Tom then left the reception desk with the keycard the hotel staff had given him.

He was watching Laura as she sat with her legs crossed, the high slit of her skirt exposing her legs and some of her thighs tempting Tom. He really couldn't wait to enjoy Laura's beautiful body.

"How did it go? Did you find out which room he's staying in?" Laura asked enthusiastically.

Tom shook his head slowly, sat beside Laura, and placed his palm on her. She quickly withdrew her hand. "You still didn't find him? Don't you have a lot of influence in the hospitality field? How can you not get something like this?"

Laura looked disappointed with Tom; he was not as great as she had been talking about.

"Then let me question them. I still have my wedding photos with that man." Laura immediately stood up with her cell phone, but Tom held her back, shaking his head.

"Laura, what are you doing? You can't be crazy!" he snapped.

"Of course I'll do it myself. Haven't you already failed?" Laura snapped back.

"Get a hold of yourself! I'm not incapable, but I don't want to be rash. We're in the lobby and there are a lot of people here. What would happen if I caused a scene by forcing the receptionist to reveal where the man's room was! I left my cell phone number, gave him money to find out where your ex-husband is!"

Laura said nothing but went back to her place. Then, Tom took the opportunity to quickly take Laura to the deluxe room he had rented.

"Mmm while we're waiting, how about we go to the room first. Who knows, we might bump into her on the way to the room," Tom said.

Laura gasped. Even though she was no longer married to Danny, she didn't want to sleep with Tom. She looked for a way to avoid his invitation to stay the night.

The beautiful woman smiled slightly when she suddenly came up with a brilliant idea to avoid Tom's invitation. She tugged on his hand, "Tom, I was just thinking that maybe Danny isn't applying for jobs or sleepovers right now. But he came here to approach the guests and beg them for a living. He could be in the restaurant or any other facility in this hotel! We should find him now, and not let him earn a living. The person who offended the Huxley family doesn't deserve it!"

This time, it was Tom's turn to be disappointed by Laura's rejection. 'Huh! Do I have to delay to stay with Laura again? But what she said does make sense. I can't let that loser stay in the Northern Coastal anyway; he could threaten me!'

"Alright, let's start from that bar!" Tom pointed at the bar opposite the lobby.

Laura nodded, and the two of them headed toward the door. But when they were near it, Laura accidentally turned her head to the right and recognized a man walking towards it.

She stopped, and the closer he got, the more certain she was that it was Danny. Only this time, his clothes weren't as shabby as usual. He wore milk chocolate chinos and a black short-sleeved shirt, and his hair was neatly combed.

Laura was stunned to see him. She had just realized the man she once married had a beautiful face. She quickly shook her head and reminded herself that she had to make Danny realize his mistake.

"Danny! I finally found you! What are you here for? Didn't Tom block you from working in the hospitality industry and from staying in four-star hotels or below?" Laura asked sternly.

Danny furrowed his eyebrows and laughed lightly. "I remember, but as far as I know this is a five-star resort and I'm not looking for a job, so what's your problem?"

Laura clenched her fists tightly, turned to Tom, and wrapped her hands around his arms. It looked like she wanted to see Danny protest her actions, but it didn't happen.

"You!" Laura exclaimed, pointing her finger at the man's face.

"What do you want to say? Ask the hotel to throw me out of here? Try it, I'd like to know if you did it or not," Danny challenged.

"Then what are you doing here, loser? Do you think by changing your appearance, you can get the attention of the high-class guests staying here so that they can give you a job?" Tom asked mockingly.

Danny smiled slightly, "Ha ha. You think I'm here to do that? I don't have time for that!" Danny paused momentarily and said, "Now do you have anything else to say? If not, I'll go inside the bar and have a drink. Or do you want to come and ask me to buy you one?"

There was no answer from either of them. There was an angry stare at Danny until the man finally entered the bar.

"Shit! He dares to insult us. If it's not approaching rich people for a job, what is he doing here? There's no way he can stay overnight, where's the money?" Laura complained.

Tom smiled slightly and nodded, "He's been taking care of the Huxley household, could he have secretly stolen something from your house?"

Laura then gasped in shock.
