31. The First Day

Tom clenched his fists tightly as he watched Laura move further away. The Huxley family's former son-in-law really annoyed him this time.

"Danny, watch out! You can piss me off and embarrass me today, but once you get out of this hotel I'll make sure you regret it for the rest of your life!" exclaimed Tom as he left the corridor.

Tom pulled his cell phone from his pocket and immediately dialed Fred Nelson. "Fred, you must notify me as soon as the guest staying in the Presidential Suite leaves the hotel!"

Until now, Tom still couldn't accept that Danny had rented the President's suite at Pine Royal Resort. He still thought Danny was a lousy person who didn't belong here.

'Huh! You'll see, as soon as you get out of here I'll make you regret knowing me!' Tom mentally entered the elevator and left the hotel.

A week later...

It was Danny's last day to stay in the President's Suite. He had finished his breakfast and was dressed in a suit and leather shoes, his hair smeared with pomade and neatly combed. It was 180 degrees different from his previous appearance.

Danny took a long breath before the mirror and said again, "Hmm, it looks like Laura won't recognize me this time."

When he got off the elevator, almost all the women looked at him with admiration. Even the receptionist who was supposed to be working stopped her activities to admire Danny's figure.

The two receptionists whispered to each other and asked about the marital status of the handsome man who had just come out of the elevator. Even the two of them began to fantasize about becoming Danny's wife.

"You see, he's very different than when he entered the hotel. He was like a caterpillar when he came to this hotel, then became a cocoon and now when he checks out he has turned into a butterfly," said one of the receptionists.

It was true that when Danny entered this hotel, he was underestimated because of his shabby clothes. Even the receptionist had called security to kick him out. But he was allowed to stay at this hotel thanks to Danny's black card, which said he was undercover.

"Will you be checking out today, sir?" asked one of the friendly receptionists.

Danny nodded slowly and handed over the key and his black card. "This is to settle the bill while here!"

The receptionist with red hair in front of him immediately gave Danny a paper containing the transactions during his stay at the hotel and asked him to check. But Danny refused, "Just swipe my card!"

After finishing the payment, he took two envelopes from his pocket and gave them to the two receptionists. "This is for your hard work while I'm here! Thank you!"

Danny walked away, and the two receptionists smiled widely. Their admiration for Danny grew even more when they saw the $2000 cash inside the envelope. "Oh look at this, he's tipped us almost half a month's salary. He really is a generous rich man, I regret underestimating him a few days ago." The red-haired receptionist looked down.

"That's right, I regret it too. I even thought he was crazy when he said he was undercover to avoid the public eye. It turns out that he really is an eccentric rich man. Oh how, lucky the woman who will become his wife will be." This time, it was the pixie-cut receptionist's turn to speak.

Unbeknownst to them all, Fred Nelson was currently watching from a distance. He had just called Tom Harold and informed him that the guests staying in the President Suite had checked out of the hotel. In addition, he also told me the number of the taxi that Danny took when he left the hotel.

Danny deliberately took a taxi to the tower owned by Phoenix Crest Group. Again, the reason is that he doesn't want to be in the spotlight.

Today was Danny's first day as President of Phoenix Crest Group. Of course, many reporters would come to report the arrival of a Mysterious President in his office, and Danny did not want him to be in the spotlight, especially if the Huxley family saw the news.

Since the sun was almost up, Tom Harold had organized his men to stand guard outside the hotel and follow Danny.

As soon as the taxi arrived at the courtyard, several reporters were already in front of the lobby, just as he had predicted. Danny walked calmly into the lobby, none of the reporters noticing his presence. Even if they did, they would assume Danny was a guest or perhaps one of the managers at the Phoenix Crest Group.

Danny looked so excited about today, but not because of his position as President. He had lived in luxury since childhood and was used to being served and honored as an influential person.

But his meeting with Sharon Bennet made him so excited this time. Some time ago, she had been so haughty and dismissive of him. She even claimed to be Danny's fiancée in front of everyone.

Danny stood in front of the sophisticated security portal near the elevator. Then, he took the special access card Simon had given him from his wallet.

The security portal at the Phonix Crest Group used fingerprint and face detection, but since it was Danny's first day at work, his face and fingerprints had not yet been registered. It was good that Simon hadn't forgotten to give him his personal access card; otherwise, he would have been in big trouble.

After getting access, Danny went straight to his room on the 27th floor. It was still seven a.m., and no one was along the corridor.

"Huh! Safe!" Danny muttered. Then he opened the door to his room and began to sit behind the desk while studying some documents, waiting for his grandfather, who was still on his way here.

Danny smiled occasionally at the thought of what was going to happen today. He began to imagine how ridiculous Sharon Bennet's face would look when she saw she was the new President of Phoenix Crest Group.

Sharon Bennet would surely be dumbfounded when she heard her grandfather introduce himself. She might also fall to her knees and beg Danny for forgiveness for her brash behavior a while ago.

'Hmm, Sharon Bennet. I want to see if you can really stop me like you said at Grandma's birthday party a while ago. I wonder how good you are,' Danny mused and smiled faintly.
