“What the heck are you doing here? How dare you show your face here again?”

Maxwell watched with his hands akinbo as his ex father in-law yelled in frustration. It was a surprise that he was at home at that time of the day. Maybe he came back for lunch?

Rising to his feet, he raced to the door to call security on Maxwell. However, the latter couldn't care less about the man as he went ahead and settled on the sofa.

“Honey, I heard your voice from up here. Who are you yelling at?” Patricia Morgan’s voice was heard as she descended the stairs. However, when her eyes fell on Maxwell, she instantly froze and gaped at him for a while.

When she managed to regain herself, she yelled at Maxwell. “Who the heck are you and what are you doing here? You should go back to the hell hole you crawled out from now.”

Turning to her husband with a very dark expression, she asked him. “Honey, what is this man doing here? You know we don't allow beggars into our house. Who let him in here?”

“I let myself in. What are you two going to do about it?” Maxwell challenged and got the couple more furious.

Victor Morgan, who was close to the door, came back to stand beside his wife. “I don't know who let this beggar inside our house. Honey, don't even argue with him, I'm going to call the security guards to throw him out of this place. They're going to get it from me for letting him into my luxurious home.”

Again, Victor made his way to the door and disappeared into it. However, Maxwell still did not budge. He had learned the whole truth which they kept from him for many years so there's no fear in him whatsoever.

“I'm warning you now, leave this place peacefully while you still can. Unless you want to be thrown out like the rubbish that you are.”

Maxwell stood up from the sofa and walked around the place with a mischievous grin on his face.

“I want to be thrown out.”

Scanning the place with his eyes, he thought of something and asked Patricia. “I can see that my pretty ex-wife is not around. Tell me Patricia, where is Valerie? Well, I guess you guys have succeeded in pushing her into marrying your candidate.”

“Yeah, we have. It's better than being with a loser like you. How did you ever think that we'll let our precious treasure stay with a loser like you?” Patricia retorted coldly as she turned around to glare at Maxwell.

A moment ago, she was claiming not to know who Maxwell was. But now, she had just indirectly acknowledged him as her ex son in-law.

“You guys are already wealthy, yet you couldn't let me be with Valerie because I was poor. I loved Valerie so much but you chose to ignore our love.” Maxwell shook his head vigorously and turned to see his ex-father- in-law in the company of two security guards.

The man pointed at him and said to the guards. “Take that trash out of my house.”

“Your house, really?” Maxwell chuckled and turned to the men who were approaching him. He lifted his right hand to halt the two men.

“I can find my way out of here.”

Turning to Victor and Patricia, he said scornfully. “Both of you should better brace up for what is coming because I won't be quiet. I'll surely pay you back with your own coin.”

With a very darkened expression, Maxwell stormed out of the house leaving the couple stunned. They kept wondering what gave Maxwell the temerity to threaten them. Where did he get the confidence from? Was it from the prison?

As they glanced at each other, Victor waved off the matter. “Don't worry about him honey, he's just a barking dog who can't bite.”

After some thoughts, Patricia asked her husband. “How come he is already a freeman? I thought he was supposed to be in that prison for a few more years?”

“I have no idea why he's been released.” Victor replied while shaking his head.

“Do you think he escaped? If that's the case, then we should call the police immediately. A scumbag like him should be rotting in prison.”

“You're right honey.”

Swiftly, Victor took out his phone to call the commissioner who he had befriended for sometime now.

“Hello, Commissioner James. What happened because I just saw my convicted ex-son- in-law in my house. Are you sure there was no prison break?”

On the other end of the line, the man was stunned to hear Victor's report. If there was any prison break, he would have heard of it by now.

“No, Mr. Victor. There was no prison break so I guess that the man you are talking about has served his jail terms and has been released.”

“But how's that even possible? I'm sure he still has extra years to spend. How come he's a freeman already?”

Commissioner James thought about the whole thing and then remembered the possible reason Maxwell must have been released.

“Um, I think he was among the inmates who got a presidential pardon. It was announced on TV some weeks ago so I'm guessing you didn't watch it.”

Victor's expression darkened as he turned to stare at his wife who was listening with a deep frown on her.

“Alright, thank you. I just wanted to be sure he isn't a runaway convict. I would have handed him over to the police.”

Victor ended and angrily clenched his fists but Patricia drew closer and patted him on the back.

“You just have to let it go. There's nothing we can do now.”

Meanwhile, Maxwell was broke, homeless and without a phone as he walked out the gate of the Morgans' home. A place that was supposed to be his. Victor took it away from him.

The only good thing the couple did for him was to raise him up from his childhood to the man he is. However, with the way he was treated, they made it obvious to him that he wasn't their child.

While trying to figure out what his next line of action would be, a black Van pulled over before him and some men grabbed onto him and forcefully shoved him into the car.

Maybe that's the reason you came to our home.”“Are you sure you're not the one stalking me?" Maxwell replied in a cold voice while glaring at her.“Why should I stalk you?" “I don't know. Probably because you're jobless." Maxwell said to her before walking away.Valerie got angrier and cle

What makes you think a third marriage would be any better?”"That's if I even find a good man.”"Don't say that again. You will surely find a good man.” Patricia quickly hushed her.“And about Maxwell, you can't count your marriage with him. We both know it was almost like you two were never married." “But we were married and I'm going to count it. It can't completely be ignored since I also signed a marriage license with him.” Valerie quickly retorted and tossed the divorce papers aside before standing up from her bed. With a darkened expression, she walked away from her Mom and went to sit on her dressing table, staring right back at her reflection. She still got her pretty face but she sure looked like someone who had been through a lot.Her face was not as bright as it used to b

Don't underestimate them." “Alright. Thank you Pablo." “And you should start going around with bodyguards to keep you safe.” Pablo ended the call afterwards.Maxwell turned to Wyatt and apologized. “I'm sorry about that. I just had to get confirmation on certain things.”"It's ok, Maxwell.” Wyatt responded before thinking to himself.‘It's not just the Morgans you should be wary of, Maxwell. Get ready for what's coming from me’.Wyatt smiled at Maxwell and lifted up his glass of beer. “Cheers to life, friendship and many victories ahead." Maxwell smiled back at him and also lifted his glass. “Cheers." The two friends shared more drinks until they had enough. Maxwell then stood up, he was a little drunk b

However, Wyatt only faked a smile before responding.“Tell me the truth, Maxwell. Have you fallen in love with Angel?" Maxwell was taken unawares by the question. He swallowed hard and let out a sigh before giving Wyatt a response.“No. I don't have any feelings for her. So tell me where the question is coming from." “What makes you think that I'm in love with her." “Because you seemed to care a lot about her lately. Do you remember the time I called you and you thought it was that Angel girl.” Wyatt smirked.“I was just worried about her, that's all. Yo

After giving each of them an intense look, Valerie replied to them. “Are you talking about the court case with Maxwell which I did not tell Maurice about.”"Yes. Is that the reason your marriage with Maurice is over?”“No, that's not the reason. It was because Maurice's company was experiencing a big loss. He had to take it out on me and that was how I lost my pregnancy." “But what does it have to do with Maxwell?" “He's the one who targeted Maurice's business and made him go bankrupt." Valerie replied and angrily bit her teeth while seriously fuming.Just in a very short time, she's lost her baby and her marriage. Her parents had also lost all the wealth they owned.Anaya and Silver exchanged glances before sympathizing with her.“We're so sorry about everything that is happening to you."
