"We're ready to go now."
Carl Gerald pulled open the car door, signaling for Sara Gerald to enter.
Sara pouted and entered reluctantly, still clutching the open places on her gown tightly.
"Ok, I'm outside the Villa already, give me a moment." Juliet Marcus hung up the call.
Carl Gerald placed the phone in Sara's hands as soon as the call was over.
"I'm here, sir!" Juliet Marcus was out of breath as she'd run from the gate of the villa. She gave a deep bow once she was close enough to Carl Gerald.
"Miss. Juliet, that was fast..." Carl Gerald tried to be polite to the bowing lady.
"It's my job to give satisfactory services to my customers." She smiled smugly, standing upright, as though stating the obvious.
"Miss. Maxxy!" Sara called out to Juliet Marcus. "Thank you for the tea earlier, it was delicious."
Juliet Marcus looked around, but seeing no one, she pointed at herself, "Me? Maxxy?"
Sara Gerald nodded with a wide smile. It was her way of showing thanks. "Your name was too long to remember, so I hope you really don't mind..."
Juliet Marcus's face turned red. Carl seeing this became alarmed. "Sara, don't be rude." Carl scolded.
"But I was only thanking her." Sara said back.
"I-It's fine! Let me drive you to the banquet early, okay?!" With that Juliet Marcus hurriedly popped herself into the driver's seat.
Carl Gerald sighed before entering the luxury car, along with 3 other bodyguards.
Carl Gerald and Sara Gerald thought that Juliet Marcus was upset, but it turned out she was weak to compliments and flattery.
As Juliet Marcus turned the key, the familiar hum of the engine drew everyone away from their thoughts, as though commanding attention.
"Please strap on your seat belts, and sit comfortably with all appendages in the car, not sticking out the car window."
Juliet Marcus spoke in a formal tone that had a hint of joy. She looked like she was enjoying her job.
Everyone did as they were told. Juliet then stepped on the gas pedal, the car slowly accelerating out the villa.
For the first few moments, the car was silent. The silence was occasionally broken by Carl Gerald positioning Sara's neck as she dozed off.
"Oh, General Carl?" Juliet Marcus piqued his interest.
"...yes?" Carl Gerald didn't feel too sure about answering to 'General'.
"I forgot to tell you about being our bank's biggest investor, you get to control most of our decisions on how we invest and accept partnership deals."
Juliet Marcus's talkative behavior shined through.
"So I can cancel people?" Carl Gerald asked, not seeing the need for the information.
"If you understand it better that way, yes." Juliet Marcus smiled, her red lips failing to hide her toothy grin.
"You seem happy?" Carl Gerald asked.
"O-oh? I'm just happy I got to drive you before Debra Zach." She puffed an air of pride.
Carl Gerald swallowed a sigh. He was surprised that they knew each other, but Carl really didn't understand what relationship he held with the two women, presumably before he'd gotten amnesia.
The car remained silent until they arrived at a red carpet.
People of different statuses walked on the carpet and took pictures by the banner.
Each person was dressed extravagantly, making Carl Gerald feel like he paled in comparison.
"Sara, we're here..." Carl Gerald gently woke up his sister.
"Uh..."Sara Gerald woke up. She stretched, yawning. Sara glanced out the window. "Carl that's..."
"Yeah, I see them too." Carl Gerald bit his lower lip in disgust.
It was Tiffany Raymond and Austin Tyler. Austin held Tiffany in a provocative way, smiling as their picture was being taken.
And the worst was Tiffany's dressing. If Sara's dress was revealing, then Tiffany was as good as naked.
She wore a red gown that carved her shape indiscriminately, her cleavage was balancing on the line of indecency and manageability, and straps connected the top to the skirt in a zigzag pattern, showing her stomach.
It didn't just end there, the slit in Tiffany's gown was nearing her waist.
"General Carl, we've arrived!" Juliet Marcus opened the car door for the siblings, bowing slightly as they alighted.
Juliet sensed their hesitancy, and catching a glimpse of Tiffany, she could only guess why.
"I know of a more demure route if it suits your wants." Miss Juliet March offered.
"Yes, please." Carl Gerald was on the verge of anger.
He remembered hearing about a banquet from his ex-wife that was being hosted by a bank, but Carl never knew it would've been Vesta bank.
Juliet Marcus led them through a quieter route, away from the attention of the paparazzi.
She led them to the VIP section, sitting them down on one of the chairs. Without warning her phone rang.
As Juliet gazed at the caller she smiled arrogantly, "Hello? Oh Debra, you won't believe what happened today!"
Juliet Marcus's expression soon turned pale, "Security issues? I'll be there right now.... I'll brag about that later!"
"General Carl, something important related to the events came up, please forgive me for leaving you unattended, I'll rush back as soon as I'm done."
Without waiting for Carl Gerald's response, she dashed up a flight of stairs with a sign reading 'staff only'.
"Wow, Maxxy does a lot of things, huh?" Sara Gerald asked her brother.
"I agree." Carl smiled wearily. He observed the banquet and couldn't believe all this happened in a day. "Things happen so quickly..." Carl Gerald muttered.
"What was that?" Asked Sara.
"Let's go check out the banquet." He patted Sara's neatly combed and wavy hair.
"I want to check out the food section first." Sara got up with her brother, a dreamy look on her face.
"I'm sure you were a pig in your past life." Carl teased.
"Stop teasing–"
Sara cut her words short when she saw the outline of Tiffany Raymond and Austin Tyler walking towards them.
"Well, well, well, look who decided to show up…eventually, wearing a borrowed suit.”
Austin smiled evilly. Tiffany seemed to want to join him in hurling abuses.
"It's those poor and wretched fools.”

Chapter 465:
General Carl Gerald, slowly typed rapidly, then hit send. Within seconds, his phone buzzed with a response."Phineas confirms he received it," General Carl Gerald said. "He's starting analysis immediately. He says he'll have preliminary findings within a few hours.""What do you think about this threatening email?" Sara asked. "Do you think it's credible?""I think we have to treat it as credible until we know otherwise," General Carl Gerald said grimly. "Someone got Victor's personal email address. Someone knew about the funeral plans. Someone cared enough to send a threatening message. That's not nothing.""Could it be Maya Denver?" Debra suggested."It's possible," General Carl Gerald admitted. "It fits her pattern of psychological warfare. But it could also be someone else entirely. Someone trying to piggyback on the chaos she's already created.""Either way, it's another threat to manage," Sara said, her expression troubled."Which is why the security tomorrow will be airtight,"
Chapter 463:
"We have triple the security personnel. We have surveillance systems that we didn't have at the cemetery.”“We have every possible contingency planned for.""And most importantly," Debra Zachs said, "we have the element of awareness. At the cemetery, we were caught off guard. We weren't expecting an attack of that magnitude.”“Tomorrow, we're expecting trouble. We're ready for it. That makes all the difference.""I hope you're right," Mrs. Anna Marcus said, though she still sounded uncertain. "I just... I can't lose anyone else. I can't bury anyone else. I can't..."Her voice broke completely, and they could hear her sobbing again. Victor's voice came through, gentle and soothing."Mom, it's okay. We're going to be okay. General Carl Gerald and his team know what they're doing. We have to trust them.""I'm trying," Mrs. Anna Marcus managed through her tears. "I'm really trying.""That's all anyone can ask," General Carl Gerald said softly. "Mrs. Marcus, I know words are inadequate rig
Chapter 463:
“What if he's somehow connected to the people who attacked the cemetery?”“What if he's not really here to grieve but for some other reason?""Mom, that's a bit of a stretch," Victor said, though he didn't sound entirely convinced."Is it?" Mrs. Anna Marcus challenged. "He disappears for twenty-five years, and suddenly, right when our daughter dies under suspicious circumstances, he reappears? That doesn't strike you as odd timing?""It does seem coincidental," General Carl Gerald admitted. "And given current circumstances, I don't believe in coincidences.”“Mrs. Marcus, here's what I'll do. We'll allow Mr. Phil Marcus to attend the funeral, but he'll be under discreet surveillance the entire time.”“If he does anything suspicious, if he contacts anyone questionable, if he gives us any reason to believe he's a threat, we'll intervene immediately.""Thank you," Mrs. Anna Marcus said, relief evident in her voice. "I know I might be overreacting, but…""You're not overreacting," General
Chapter 462:
General Carl Gerald's free hand clenched into a fist, his knuckles going white. Sara and Debra both stiffened, their expressions shifting to alarm."Did you save the email?" General Carl Gerald asked, forcing his voice to remain calm despite the rage building in his chest."Yes," Victor said. "I took screenshots too, in case it somehow got deleted. General, I'm scared. Who would send something like that? And how did they get my personal email?""I don't know yet," General Carl Gerald said grimly. "But I'm going to find out. Victor, I need you to forward that email to me immediately. Can you do that?""Yes, of course," Victor said. "What's your email address?"General Carl Gerald rattled off his secure military email address, and he could hear Victor typing on the other end."Sent," Victor said after a moment. "General, do you think... Do you think this is from the same people who attacked the cemetery and carried the dead bodies of Lord Denver and Jason?""It's possible," General Ca
Chapter 461:
"We can help with that," Debra Zachs offered, also moving closer to the phone. "This is Debra Zachs. I'm coordinating the funeral arrangements with the military honors division.”“If there are things you'd like us to handle, just say the word. You and your mother shouldn't have to deal with logistics right now.""That's... that's very kind," Victor said, sounding genuinely grateful. "We've been getting so many calls. Reporters wanting comments, people from Juliet's past reaching out, extended family asking about arrangements... it's been constant.""We can put a stop to the media attention," General Carl Gerald said firmly. "I'll have our public affairs office issue a statement requesting privacy for your family. No more reporters calling. No more camera crews showing up.""Please," Mrs. Anna Marcus's voice came through, stronger now though still thick with tears. "Please do that. I can't... I can't talk to strangers about my daughter right now. I can barely talk to anyone about h
Chapter 460:
There was a moment of heavy silence on the other end of the line before Mrs. Anna Marcus's voice came through, trembling and fragile."General Carl Gerald," she said, and he could immediately hear the tears in her voice. "I... I'm trying. I'm really trying to hold it together, but it's just so hard. So impossibly hard."Her voice broke completely on the last word, dissolving into sobs that made General Carl Gerald's chest tighten with grief and guilt. He closed his eyes, pressing the phone closer to his ear."Mrs. Anna Marcus, I'm so sorry," he said softly. "I know words are inadequate right now, but I want you to know that Juliet's sacrifice... what she did... it will never be forgotten. Never.""I know," Mrs. Anna Marcus managed through her tears.“I know she died doing what she believed in. What she loved. But that doesn't make it any easier, General Carl Gerald. My baby girl is gone.”“My beautiful, brave, wonderful daughter is gone, and I... I don't know how to survive this."T
