     The house boy

"It's after five" Samantha should be home by now" Walking down the hallway Brian reached out for his cell phone just to put a call through to her, he tried a few times but there was no answer.

"Maybe she's still got work to do," he said to himself.

Getting closer to the room he heard the sound of the TV, he took a deep breath, adjusted his shirt, and entered.

"Welcome home babe" Brian grinned at his wife Samantha sitting on the couch in front of him, Samantha lifted her hands and politely waved. Staring at Samantha's bright eyes and luscious lips, Brian thought to himself

" I still get butterflies anytime I look at her. Samantha's beauty is undeniable but that's not why I love her. She's the most driven woman I've ever met, I mean just in a few years alone she had worked her way up from the assistant to being the boss herself she's just so wonderful.

"Hey Briannnn" a woman can only be described as basic chimed, Brian's thoughts evaporated as he nodded to his wife's best friend "Hi Rachel it's good to see you".

Sitting next to Samantha on the couch Rachel smirked, "Nice shirt"

Looking down Brian noticed he had spilled on his shirt again, feeling his cheeks blush Brian replied " I was doing the dishes"

"Oh that's so cute, at my house, I just paid someone to do that for me" Rachel cattily responded.

Samantha turned to Rachel "Well not everyone can be born into wealth like you are, some of us have to work for it".

Looking at Brian, Samantha continued " and some of us had to try even harder but when the hard work pays off it will all be worth it Samantha secretly winked at Brain, he winked back and thought to himself "I feel so guilty about hiding my past from her maybe she will understand if I just explained it to her but at this point, it might just be too late, I owe her a lot I would have been dead in the deep sea if she hadn't found me on the time it's funny she didn't know anything about my background and still get married to me I just wish I could make her happy someday".

Brain took a deep breath as he remembered how he was thrown into the deep sea by his brothers "How could they do that to me!" he murmured with a furrowed eyebrow and clenched his fist.

"Are you okay" You look like you're going to punch someone in the face"

Smiling it off Brian responded "That was nothing"

Samantha got up from the couch and came over to kiss Brian on the cheek,

"Brian no offense but you look like a complete mess right now maybe you should go freshen up" Turning back to look at Rachel sitting on the couch Samantha continued "Especially since we have a guest over"

Brian nodded "Of course I'll go change right now," he said and bailed out.

After changing his shirt for the second time that night, Brian walked towards the room but stopped when he heard Rachel whispering to Samantha.

" I don't know how you do it, you're this badass boss bitch and honestly he's kind of pathetic, he feels like the 'before' picture in a commercial why do you stay with him".

After a long pause, Samantha whispered back,

"He wasn't always like this when we first met. He was charming and confident. I don't know what happened to him but keep thinking if I stay with him long enough maybe he'll find himself again because I really love the man he used to be.

"Do you love him now?" Rachel asked.

Samatha bit her bottom lip " I don't know, I'll be lying if I don't admit that sometimes I just feel like a caretaker in our relationship he's so close off these days it feels like the romance is completely gone and I know if I talk to him about it directly I will lose him, even more, he's got nowhere to go I don't even know where he's from I think got a bad memory or something".

"I love him but I don't know if I'm in love with him anymore"

"Rachel nodded "Well you could have any man, you're stunning, kind and you're killing it at your job. Have you ever thought of getting a divorce? You shouldn't stay with someone because you pity them".

"My family wants me to divorce him" Samantha responded " I just wish he could become a better man to take care of him. I thought he would make it off. I helped him a little but now I don't know anymore".

"I honestly don't wanna talk about this right now I spent my entire day putting out fires at work, the last thing I wanna do is put them out at home" Samantha concluded.

Rachel had no choice but to let it go since her friend seemed more stressed than usual. She didn't want to upset her anymore.

"But what's going on at work?" Rachel asked.

Samantha signed " George has been on my neck lately he gives me difficult tasks all because he wants to f**k me he's been making advances towards me now I have to make 7 million sales in just a month if I don't want to lose my job"

"That's not difficult, he's way better than your good-for-nothing husband if you would ask me," Rachel said bluntly.

Brain's heart sank heavily as he overheard his wife's conversation with her friend. The weight of insecurity and doubt pressed heavily on him, stirring a mix of hurt and betrayal. He couldn't blame anyone but himself.

Feeling distraught over his wife's pain he went back to his room and promised himself " I have to help her, I will prove to Samantha that I'm the right man for her not the shell of a human being who I've been this past few years.

" I will get her seven million sales!!"

THE PROTOTYPE UNITSThe underground corridor became suffocatingly tense as the massive figures continued walking slowly toward Brian and the others because, despite the dim emergency lighting flickering across the lower levels of Blackwater Institute, their unnatural appearance remained horrifyingly clear. Each of the towering men looked less like trained soldiers and more like broken experiments forced into human form through violence and suffering.Their bodies were enormous beneath the damaged tactical armor wrapped around them, while blackened veins spread visibly across their necks and arms like corruption pulsing beneath the skin itself. Every movement they made carried unnatural weight, and worst of allTheir empty eyes showed absolutely no emotion. No fear.No hesitation.Only obedience.Ross tightened his grip around his weapon while quietly stepping slightly ahead of Laura.“These things aren’t human anymore.”The nearest prototype unit suddenly tilted its head unnaturally t

  • CHAPTER 199

The Architect of EclipseRed emergency lights flooded the underground laboratory while alarm sirens echoed violently throughout Blackwater Institute because the moment the cold voice emerged from the hidden speakers, the entire atmosphere inside the facility shifted completely. What initially felt like an infiltration now suddenly resembled something far more disturbing. An arrival that had been expected.Ross immediately raised his weapon while scanning the surrounding laboratory carefully.“Show yourself.”The voice calmly ignored him.“Five years ago, the Maxwell heir disappeared before the Eclipse sequence could be completed.”Then faint static crackled softly through the speakers again.“And yet fate still brought him back to us.”Samantha quietly felt chills spread across her skin because the voice sounded unnaturally composed, almost pleased by Brian’s presence rather than threatened.Brian’s expression darkened while staring toward the surveillance cameras hidden throughout th

BENEATH BLACKWATERSThe convoy moved through the northern outskirts of San Clemente beneath the darkness of early morning while cold fog drifted heavily across the isolated forest roads leading toward Blackwater Institute. Unlike the earlier operations throughout the harbor district, nobody inside the vehicles spoke much during the journey because the deeper they traveled into the mountains surrounding the abandoned facility, the heavier the atmosphere became.Everything about Blackwater felt wrong long before they even arrived. The roads leading toward the area gradually became emptier while old warning signs and rusted barricades appeared more frequently through the trees. Several sections of forest looked unnaturally dead beneath the moonlight, almost as though something poisonous had spread through the land years ago and never fully disappeared.Inside the lead vehicle, Laura continued monitoring security feeds through multiple encrypted devices while Ross reviewed final tactical

The Facility in the ForestThe cold wind sweeping through the Maxwell estate grounds seemed heavier after Evelyn’s final words because, despite everything they had uncovered throughout the night, that single statement carried implications darker than anything else so far. The Eclipse Project was not simply about political influence, hidden assassinations, or underground financial networks. They were trying to create power itself. The silence surrounding the estate gates afterward felt suffocating while everyone present quietly processed the horrifying meaning hidden behind those words. Even Ross, who had spent years navigating violent organizations and corrupt power structures throughout San Clemente, looked visibly unsettled for the first time that night.Thomas swallowed hard beside the convoy vehicles.“What does that even mean?”Evelyn slowly lowered her eyes.“I don’t know.”Then her voice weakened slightly.“But your father became terrified after discovering the truth.”Brian re

  • CHAPTER 196

Blackwater InstituteThe atmosphere surrounding the Maxwell estate gates became incomparably heavier after Evelyn revealed the truth about Blackwater Medical Institute, because despite the calm way she spoke the words, everyone present immediately understood the terrifying implication behind them. A place officially closed years ago that now secretly functioned as a prison connected directly to the Eclipse Project and the Black Serpent Syndicate could not possibly be ordinary.Brian remained standing silently beneath the estate lights while staring at the address written on the folded paper in his hand because although his expression stayed controlled outwardly, the dangerous pressure surrounding him had intensified noticeably again. His mother was there.Alive.And according to Evelyn, she might not survive the night if they moved too slowly.Ross immediately turned toward Laura.“I want every available file on Blackwater Institute right now.”Laura nodded quickly while already conta

  • CHAPTER 195

The Promise Made Five Years AgoThe cold night air moved quietly through the Maxwell estate entrance while the elderly woman continued staring at Brian with trembling eyes because, despite the armed guards surrounding the gates and the overwhelming tension hanging throughout the estate grounds, her attention never shifted away from him for even a single second. The emotion inside her expression looked far too genuine to be a simple performance, yet after everything that had happened tonight, nobody present could afford to trust appearances blindly anymore.Ross subtly signaled several nearby security personnel to remain alert while Samantha stepped out of the vehicle behind Brian carefully observing the woman herself. Laura and Alfred followed moments later, though Alfred’s expression gradually changed the longer he looked at the old woman standing outside the gates.Almost like recognition.Brian eventually walked several steps closer toward the iron gates while maintaining careful d
