The house boy
"It's after five" Samantha should be home by now" Walking down the hallway Brian reached out for his cell phone just to put a call through to her, he tried a few times but there was no answer.
"Maybe she's still got work to do," he said to himself.
Getting closer to the room he heard the sound of the TV, he took a deep breath, adjusted his shirt, and entered.
"Welcome home babe" Brian grinned at his wife Samantha sitting on the couch in front of him, Samantha lifted her hands and politely waved. Staring at Samantha's bright eyes and luscious lips, Brian thought to himself
" I still get butterflies anytime I look at her. Samantha's beauty is undeniable but that's not why I love her. She's the most driven woman I've ever met, I mean just in a few years alone she had worked her way up from the assistant to being the boss herself she's just so wonderful.
"Hey Briannnn" a woman can only be described as basic chimed, Brian's thoughts evaporated as he nodded to his wife's best friend "Hi Rachel it's good to see you".
Sitting next to Samantha on the couch Rachel smirked, "Nice shirt"
Looking down Brian noticed he had spilled on his shirt again, feeling his cheeks blush Brian replied " I was doing the dishes"
"Oh that's so cute, at my house, I just paid someone to do that for me" Rachel cattily responded.
Samantha turned to Rachel "Well not everyone can be born into wealth like you are, some of us have to work for it".
Looking at Brian, Samantha continued " and some of us had to try even harder but when the hard work pays off it will all be worth it Samantha secretly winked at Brain, he winked back and thought to himself "I feel so guilty about hiding my past from her maybe she will understand if I just explained it to her but at this point, it might just be too late, I owe her a lot I would have been dead in the deep sea if she hadn't found me on the time it's funny she didn't know anything about my background and still get married to me I just wish I could make her happy someday".
Brain took a deep breath as he remembered how he was thrown into the deep sea by his brothers "How could they do that to me!" he murmured with a furrowed eyebrow and clenched his fist.
"Are you okay" You look like you're going to punch someone in the face"
Smiling it off Brian responded "That was nothing"
Samantha got up from the couch and came over to kiss Brian on the cheek,
"Brian no offense but you look like a complete mess right now maybe you should go freshen up" Turning back to look at Rachel sitting on the couch Samantha continued "Especially since we have a guest over"
Brian nodded "Of course I'll go change right now," he said and bailed out.
After changing his shirt for the second time that night, Brian walked towards the room but stopped when he heard Rachel whispering to Samantha.
" I don't know how you do it, you're this badass boss bitch and honestly he's kind of pathetic, he feels like the 'before' picture in a commercial why do you stay with him".
After a long pause, Samantha whispered back,
"He wasn't always like this when we first met. He was charming and confident. I don't know what happened to him but keep thinking if I stay with him long enough maybe he'll find himself again because I really love the man he used to be.
"Do you love him now?" Rachel asked.
Samatha bit her bottom lip " I don't know, I'll be lying if I don't admit that sometimes I just feel like a caretaker in our relationship he's so close off these days it feels like the romance is completely gone and I know if I talk to him about it directly I will lose him, even more, he's got nowhere to go I don't even know where he's from I think got a bad memory or something".
"I love him but I don't know if I'm in love with him anymore"
"Rachel nodded "Well you could have any man, you're stunning, kind and you're killing it at your job. Have you ever thought of getting a divorce? You shouldn't stay with someone because you pity them".
"My family wants me to divorce him" Samantha responded " I just wish he could become a better man to take care of him. I thought he would make it off. I helped him a little but now I don't know anymore".
"I honestly don't wanna talk about this right now I spent my entire day putting out fires at work, the last thing I wanna do is put them out at home" Samantha concluded.
Rachel had no choice but to let it go since her friend seemed more stressed than usual. She didn't want to upset her anymore.
"But what's going on at work?" Rachel asked.
Samantha signed " George has been on my neck lately he gives me difficult tasks all because he wants to f**k me he's been making advances towards me now I have to make 7 million sales in just a month if I don't want to lose my job"
"That's not difficult, he's way better than your good-for-nothing husband if you would ask me," Rachel said bluntly.
Brain's heart sank heavily as he overheard his wife's conversation with her friend. The weight of insecurity and doubt pressed heavily on him, stirring a mix of hurt and betrayal. He couldn't blame anyone but himself.
Feeling distraught over his wife's pain he went back to his room and promised himself " I have to help her, I will prove to Samantha that I'm the right man for her not the shell of a human being who I've been this past few years.
" I will get her seven million sales!!"

CHAPTER 212
The Beginning of the EndThe first burst of gunfire shattered the uneasy silence inside the observation chamber, echoing through Blackwater Institute with such violence that everyone instinctively turned toward the surveillance screens. Muzzle flashes illuminated the enormous central atrium as dozens of Council soldiers opened fire simultaneously, their disciplined formation collapsing into frantic movement the moment Subject A-1 stepped into view. The barrage was relentless, thousands of rounds striking the creature with enough force to tear apart reinforced concrete behind it, yet when the smoke began to clear, the figure remained standing exactly where it had been.Brian narrowed his eyes. The bullets had landed. There was no question about that. His clothing had been shredded, and several impacts had driven him back half a step, but what emerged from the cloud of dust bore almost no visible injury. Small wounds marked his skin
CHAPTER 211
The CouncilNo one spoke after Elias uttered those words because the arrival of armed forces outside Blackwater Institute changed the atmosphere inside the chamber more completely than any revelation that had come before. Until that moment, Brian had believed Victor Graves was the highest authority within Eclipse, the man responsible for every tragedy that had unfolded over the last two decades. Now it was becoming painfully obvious that Victor himself answered to people who had remained invisible for years, people powerful enough to erase entire families, governments, and organizations without ever revealing their names. The security monitor displayed a convoy of black helicopters circling above the mountain while armored vehicles advanced through the shattered entrance that Subject A-1 had torn apart earlier. Their movements were precise, disciplined, and frighteningly efficient. Every squad seemed to know exactly where it was going, as though they h
CHAPTER 210
The Night Everything ChangedVictor Graves' final words echoed through the chamber long after he stopped speaking because, although nobody immediately reacted, every person present understood that he had deliberately chosen those words to unsettle Brian. The silence that followed was not the silence of confusion but of anticipation, as though everyone had suddenly been transported back to a night more than twenty years earlier, a night whose consequences were only now beginning to reveal themselves.Brian's eyes remained fixed on Victor while his thoughts raced uncontrollably because he had spent years searching for the truth surrounding the destruction of his family, yet never once had he imagined that the answers might stretch back to the day he entered the world. Everything he had discovered since arriving at Blackwater Institute seemed to point toward the same impossible conclusion. His birth had never been an ordinary event, and every person standing inside the chamber appeared t
CHAPTER 209
The Future They ChoseThe words Elias Ward had just spoken settled over the chamber like a storm cloud because although everyone present already understood that Eclipse was dangerous, very few of them had imagined that the organization’s ambitions extended beyond power, wealth, or influence. Those goals were familiar. History was filled with men who sought to dominate others through money and authority. What Elias had described was something far more disturbing because it suggested that Eclipse no longer viewed itself as part of humanity. It viewed itself as humanity's replacement.Brian remained completely still while studying the older man's face because he had spent years learning how to recognize deception, and nothing about Elias suggested he was exaggerating. The sadness in his eyes felt genuine. The regret sounded genuine. More importantly, Victor Graves' reaction was telling its own story. The architect of Eclipse no longer looked irritated. He looked cornered. For a man like
CHAPTER 208
The First RebelThe massive reinforced door continued sliding open while every person inside the chamber watched in complete silence because after everything that had happened since entering Blackwater Institute, it had become painfully clear that the man standing beyond that threshold represented something far greater than another hidden enemy or forgotten experiment. The reactions from Ian, Victor Graves, and even Brian's mother had already revealed more than words ever could, and the growing tension throughout the facility suggested that the arrival of this mysterious figure threatened foundations that had existed for decades.Brian remained completely still as his eyes stayed fixed on the widening gap because although countless questions were racing through his mind, one stood above all the others. For years he had been chasing fragments of the truth surrounding his family, and every answer seemed to lead him deeper into a maze of secrets connected to Eclipse. Now another piece of
CHAPTER 207
The Man Who Should Have Been DeadThe silence that followed those words seemed to stretch endlessly throughout the chamber because nobody present could fully understand why a single voice had produced such a dramatic reaction. Brian had spent years facing dangerous enemies, powerful families, and ruthless criminals, yet he had never seen Victor Graves look the way he looked now. The architect of Eclipse remained frozen before the observation glass while every trace of confidence slowly drained from his expression, and for the first time since revealing himself, he appeared less like the mastermind behind a global conspiracy and more like a man confronting a ghost from his past. The facility speakers remained active, but the mysterious voice said nothing further as though deliberately allowing the tension to grow. Whoever stood outside the chamber understood exactly what effect his arrival was having, and the patience behind that silence suggested a level of confidence that immediately
