Chapter 7

The 1880 Club was the most exclusive place in the entire city, a playground for the heirs of the most powerful millionaires.

Jack was lucky enough to get in because he was dating Hillary Lombardini. Otherwise, he would never have been able to access such a place.

"Here we go!" said Jack after taking a deep breath.

It was his first time arriving at the club in a luxurious car. He had always shown up on his old delivery bike, making him the laughingstock of all the club members.

The bright sun, the green lawns, the crystal-clear water in the immense pools, and all those young millionaires flaunting their perfect bodies.

Hillary Lombardini was always surrounded by her good friends: the Walton brothers and Max Scolari. Scolari also never went anywhere without his stunning girlfriend, Kriss.

That afternoon, they had decided to sunbathe in the club's magnificent gardens, lounging on reclining chairs.

For those millionaires, seeing a Lamborghini entering the 1880 Club was nothing out of the ordinary. What truly shocked them was who was driving that car.

"I can’t believe it," said Theo Walton as he watched Jack step out of that spectacular vehicle.

"This must be a joke," Ricco was the most stunned.

Hillary seemed genuinely excited to see her boyfriend again after the incident from the previous night.

"I thought I ordered that scoundrel to get what he deserved," Ricco said, taking off his sunglasses.

"Looks like you don’t have everything under control, as you always claim," Hillary said mockingly as she got up to meet Jack.

Jack stood there next to his new car, wearing an elegant suit he had just bought at the store.

However, those extravagant luxuries didn’t give him the confidence he needed to face those bullies, the Walton brothers.

Beneath that expensive suit and despite the Lamborghini, Jack was still just a simple pizza delivery guy who was lucky to have a millionaire girlfriend.

"My love!" said Hillary, hugging Jack tightly.

Jack was a little upset over the fact that his girlfriend had slept with Ricco Walton. Yet, she acted as if nothing had happened. That day, she was the same Hillary as always.

Jack had no choice but to go along with it and forget his girlfriend's infidelity. He loved her madly, and that was why it wasn’t too hard for him to greet her with a smile.

"My darling!" Jack replied, returning Hillary’s embrace.

The Walton brothers watched them closely. Max Scolari and his girlfriend also observed as Jack and Hillary openly displayed their affection.

"They make me want to puke," said Max’s spiteful girlfriend.

Ricco Walton watched in fury, wondering how Hillary could be such a traitor. However, he tried to mask his anger with a smile.

"Where do you think he got that car?" Theo asked the small group watching Jack.

"The real question is, how could Hillary be interested in that guy?" Max said.

"I suppose we should give our good friend Jack a warm welcome," Ricco said, his words dripping with malice.

Meanwhile, the romantic conversation between Jack and Hillary continued.

"I missed you so much. I was so worried about you," said Hillary, holding her boyfriend’s hands.

"But... you didn’t even call," Jack said, trying to sound casual.

"Yeah... well... I was really busy, you know."

"Oh, yes, yes... Don’t worry. I understand," Jack replied, incredibly justifying Hillary's infidelity.

"Hey, delivery boy! We need a couple of pizzas over here!" shouted one of the club members, mocking Jack.

Jack stayed silent, swallowing the lump in his throat as he frowned.

"Ignore him," Hillary suggested. "I love that you’re here."

She kissed him just as the Walton brothers and Max were approaching.

"I’d be careful if I were you," said Ricco, interrupting their kiss. "You never know what Hillary did with that mouth last night."

Jack immediately started wiping his lips while looking away. He was obviously uncomfortable but didn’t want to show any weakness in front of those bullies.

"Ricco..." Jack said, raising his chin defiantly.

"How nice to have the whole gang back together again," Ricco said, draping his arm over Hillary’s shoulders.

"Actually, I was just leaving..." Jack said, attempting to turn away, but Theo quickly cut him off.

"Oh no," Theo lamented. "In fact, we really needed your help."

"My help?" Jack asked.

"Yes... You see, the gardener didn’t show up for work today, so we need someone to mow the lawn so we can play golf," Theo explained.

"As you can imagine... none of us knows anything about mowing lawns," Max added.

"Sweetheart... would you do that for us?" Hillary pleaded, holding onto Jack’s arm.

Jack obviously didn’t want to do that kind of job in such a fancy club. It was clearly another trap set by the Walton brothers to humiliate him. But he couldn’t resist his girlfriend’s plea.

"Alright. I’ll do it," Jack said.

"Thank you, my love!" Hillary exclaimed, excitedly kissing his cheek.

"I’ll go grab the golf clubs from the car," Max said.

"I’ll join you," said Ricco.

"Me too," added Theo.

Hillary didn’t say a word. She simply returned to Max’s girlfriend to continue sunbathing while Jack did the dirty work.

Everyone left, and Jack was left completely alone in front of the gardening tools.

He reached into the pocket of his suit and pulled out a small case containing the diamond ring he had worked so hard to afford.

He admired it for a second before putting it back.

"Not the right moment yet," he said to himself, then prepared to start the task.

Jack began mowing the lawn under the scorching sun while everyone else enjoyed themselves.

As Jack ruined his expensive suit with grass stains from the mower, the Walton brothers were busy plotting their next prank against him.

"I can’t do it," said Max, sitting behind the wheel of his car while Ricco and Theo spoke to him from outside.

"Oh, come on. Don’t be such a coward," exclaimed Ricco, visibly annoyed.

"You have to do it. There’s no other choice," Theo insisted.

"Alright... alright..." Max muttered.

He let out a deep sigh, then stepped on the gas, speeding straight toward Jack’s Lamborghini.

He didn’t stop until he crashed into Jack’s car, smashing it to pieces. Everyone around laughed, fully aware that this was just another prank by the Walton brothers.

The stench of rain and wet earth was as thick as the mourning in the air. Kloe lay on the floor of an old abandoned warehouse, curled up, her arms wrapped around her knees. Rain hammered the metal roof like a drum, each drop a sharp beat that only amplified the despair of the moment. The screen of her phone, shattered from the fall when she heard the news of her best friend’s death, lay beside her. Its last image was the announcement of Lix’s match. She didn’t need to see it. She felt her best friend’s absence like an open wound in her soul. Lix was gone. No matter what we do.”A shadow loomed over her. The smell of cheap perfume and hot metal, the same scent Jack carried, wrapped around her. She looked up. There he was—her last friend in this hell. His eyes, deep and filled with cold determi

The following day arrived quickly over the city, where deceptively innocent people roamed the still-smoldering streets after the carnage unleashed between the men of Theo Walton and Jean Graham. Anyone who didn’t live there might have sworn it was a peaceful city. Yet the massacre had been total—a holocaust that left the area around Graham’s house like a twisted cemetery, with mutilated bodies that the police had only just begun to collect. In some cases, it was simply impossible to identify the dead due to their destroyed faces. However, in this city accustomed to horror, normalcy reestablished itself with surprising speed. No one dared to question. No one dared to point fingers. The Walton Mansion remained untouched. The police looked the other way. There were no investigations, no arrests, not even an official mention of the dozen burned armored vehicles or the bodies of elite bodyguards scattered across the asphalt. Theo Walton’s crime went unpunished—just another anecdote to whis

The interior of Jean Graham's shattered bunker reeked of burnt gunpowder and molten metal. Morning light filtered through the cracks in the ceiling, revealing the chaos left by the battle. Graham, his clothes soaked in blood and his body lacerated, dragged himself back to his operations room. Every movement was agony—a price he was forced to pay in order to win a battle in the brutal war he had been thrown into. But a powerful survival instinct kept him going.Without hesitation, Graham threw himself onto a metal table, his eyes locked on the first aid kit. His bloodied hands, hardened by years of combat, pulled out a curved needle and thick thread. He stabbed the needle into his own flesh, beginning to stitch himself up, tugging at the torn skin. There were no groans, only a snort. Graham’s face was drenched in sweat and blood. Then he grabbed a syringe he had filled with a potent painkiller and injected it directly into his uninjured thigh, the cold liquid burning through his veins.

The roar of armored engines tore through the stillness of the city night. It wasn’t the usual sounds of a city in celebration, but a heavy, blood-chilling noise. From the highest windows, one could see the column of black vehicles emerging from the Walton Mansion—a caravan of armored trucks advancing down the avenues.Dozens of armored SUVs, each packed with heavily armed men, were an unmistakable sign. Theo Walton’s men were on the move.A chill swept through the streets. People who had just begun opening their night businesses or heading out to dance stopped cold. There was no need for screams or alarms. The entire city knew what this display meant. It was the march of death. Doors slammed shut, blinds dropped, and storefronts pulled down their heavy metal shutters with a crash. The few pedestrians scattered like ants, seeking refuge in alleyways, behind dumpsters, or simply flattening themselves against the walls, wishing to become invisible. They knew that when Walton’s private ar
