“Mr. Alex, I was about calling you before you came. This man here.” He pointed at Damian who stood with a mild expression. “Had refused to leave.”

Mr. Alex cut him off with a resounding slap that echoed leaving the other guards in shock and disbelief. “How dare you stop my honorable guest. Do you know who he is?”

“I am… sorry, Mr. Alex.” He stammered. “I have made a mistake.”

Mr Alex stepped forward and bowed respectfully to Damian; the gatekeeper and the guards behind were left in a perplexed mood; they couldn’t believe their master would bow to someone like Damian.

The gatekeeper, seeing the scene before him, joined his master. “I am sorry, Mr. Grayson. I didn’t expect this to happen, I will make sure he is dealt with.”

The gatekeeper looked shocked and terrified. How could an ordinary man like Damian be so mighty that even his boss would respect him? “Who is this dude, and where is he from?’ This was the thought playing in the head of the gatekeeper and the other guards.

Damian stared at the guard and shifted his gaze to Mr Alex. “Take me to your son; we are running out of time.” He said moving away from the gatekeeper.

The gatekeeper’s body trembled in fear and panic; without being told, he knew he had gotten into Mr Alex’s blacklist.

Mr. Alex turned to the other guard, “Take him inside and deal with him. Don’t stop until I tell you to.”

The gatekeeper fell to his knees as hot sweat drenched his forehead, and his hands shook profusely. He was dragged away by the guards. He cried for mercy, but Mr. Alex didn’t listen.

Damian was taken to a room where Mr Alex’s son lay on the bed motionless. Beside the room were his mother, Bianca and the renowned Doctor, Johnathan Monroe, from the Aurora General Hospital.”

Damian knelt beside the boy, his eyes scanning the boy’s body. His pulse was weak, and his chest was rising and falling erratically. He could sense this wasn’t just a simple illness, there was something more.

“How long has he been like this,” Damian asked calmly.

“A few days.” Mr Alex replied, “He started coughing, then the fever spiked, and since then, it’s been getting worse.”

Damian nodded, “Have you gotten the ingredients on the list?”

“Yes,” Mr Alex nodded frantically; he signalled the Butler to bring the ingredients, and the butler obliged and kept the ingredients on the desk.

“What kind of ancient things do you want to use on my son, I can’t allow him to use this irritating thing on him.” Mrs Bianca blurted out.

“Yes, Mr. Alex. I support your wife.” Doctor Jonathan chimed in. “I have given him the medical pills, and it will help your son.”

Damian stared at the face before him, and they all kept a menacing glance at him. He wasn’t surprised, he had seen things like this in the past.

Mr Alex wasn’t in support of them, “Mr Damian is a well-known healer, and I believe he can help my son. You have been trooping in and out of my house still; there has been no sign of improvement. I wouldn’t want anything to happen to my only son.”

“If he is a healer, he should tell us, What is wrong with your son? ‘”

Damian inhaled and exhaled softly, “This is no ordinary sickness. He was poisoned, and it’s slowly shutting down his organs, particularly his heart.”

The doctor shook his head, “There is no way it’s a poison because if it were, I would have seen it before you arrived. I have done multiple tests on him, and there is no sign of poison in his bloodstream.”

“You can’t see it because it’s not an ordinary poison. It’s something hidden and can’t be seen.” Damian responded with his eyes still fixated on the body.

There was a silence between them, “Where are you from, and what medical school did you attend?”

“I didn’t attend any medical school, but I am far better than you with a medical certificate. You should allow me to do my job,”

Damian had spent his last few years learning from his late master, who passed away after he was shot twice in his chest.

Master Dennis, was no ordinary man. He taught Damian everything that is needed to know before he left the world. Master Dennis believes in determination and consistency. He made sure his five students were always taking their lectures seriously, but it was only Damian who impressed him the most, and after the other four left, he took care of Damian, ensuring he learnt the things he never shared with anyone.

“Stop it.” Mrs Bianca yelled from behind. “I can’t allow you to do anything.”

Doctor Jonathan grabbed his bag and pulled out a pill, after seeing what was happening.

“Mr. Alex, I got these pills from my last medical trip to Hawaii. And it can be used to cure any kind of poison. It will help your son.”

Mr. Alex was confused; he had heard about Damian’s skill, and the doctor was claiming to have a pill that could cure his son.

Before Mr Alex could make the decision. Doctor Jonathan had given the pill to his son, Freddie.

Damian stood still, watching the scene before him. “The pill you gave him will kill him.”

“You don’t know anything about medicine, how it will help restore his health.” Doctor Jonathan said confidently.

“You don’t know better than him,” she said, “He is the best doctor in the world, and not you, who happens to be a roadside healer who is trying to extort money from us with some fake medical skill and irritating ingredients.”

Damian was finding the scene disrespectful, he averted his gaze to Mr. Alex. “I am sorry, Mr, Damian.”

“I will be on my way since your wife doesn’t want me to help.” Damian was about to open the door when the unexpected happened.

Blood began to gush from Freddie’s eyes, ears and nose. Leaving everyone in shock and horror.

“What’s happening to him, Doctor Monroe..” Mrs Bianca asked with a cracked voice.

Doctor Jonathan Monroe looked in confusion; he couldn’t tell what was happening.

“What have you done to my son?” Mr. Alex roared at the doctor, grabbing his collar with his eyes blazing in fury.

“I didn’t do anything; You should have asked the healer.” Doctor Jonathan tried to shift the blame.

Damian frowned.

“Shut up, we all saw that he didn’t touch my son. It was you who gave him the pills.” Mr. Alex yelled.

“Do something to save my son, or you die.” Mr. Alex yelled, his voice sharp and dangerous.

The doctor flinched in fear, as his heart was thumping fast in uncertainty.
