At this moment.

Inside the Grand Silvercrest Hotel, no one paid attention to Ethan lying dead in a pool of blood, and no one cared about Arabella fleeing the scene. All eyes were fixed on Valmor in terror!

Almost all the guests present were convinced that this ordinary-looking man, bold enough to kill in public, would certainly not leave alive tonight.

At that moment, on the grand spiral staircase of the hotel, a man in a white designer suit slowly descended. His arrival was like a full moon rising in the hotel, instantly capturing everyone’s gaze.

Linzell Barbar, the second young master of the Barbar Family, was an unassailable presence in all of Smaora!

Although everyone knew that this celebration banquet was in honor of Linzell Barbar forcibly seizing and annexing the Kross Family’s assets—a crime steeped in blood and unspeakable evil—no one dared mention it, and no one dared not attend.

Because in today’s Smaora City, no one dared to slight the Barbar Family!

As Linzell Barbar walked down the staircase into the hall, a cluster of sycophantic nobles immediately gathered around him.

All eyes on him!

Competing to flatter him!

Basking in glory!

Once he reached the hall, Linzell Barbar slowly lifted a glass of wine, took a delicate sip, and then fixed his gaze on Valmor. With an air of superiority and complete dominance, he sneered contemptuously and said.

“I heard that an ant dared to commit insubordination and killed Ethan on my turf?” Then Linzell Barbar waved his hand, and a servant behind him immediately brought forward a sharp fruit knife.

Clang!

Linzell Barbar picked up the fruit knife and tossed it at Valmor’s feet, commanding. “Today is the day of my celebration banquet. Since I’m in a good mood, I’ll give you a chance to cut off your own head, so that when you die, it won’t look any uglier.”

Boom!

Hearing Linzell Barbar’s words, the surrounding men and women were shocked. Many even raised their thumbs toward the second young master of the Barbar Family, praising his extraordinary presence, his dominance, his sheer impressiveness!

However,

Just as everyone thought that with Linzell Barbar personally speaking, this plainly dressed young man had no choice but to comply, Valmor merely looked at the fruit knife on the floor, smirked, and said:

“I have traversed the world with pride and defiance. Every enemy I’ve faced has been a hero of extraordinary skill!”

“Before coming here today, I wondered what kind of person would dare create a blood feud with me. But now that I see, it’s all a bunch of insignificant trash. Truly disappointing!”

Valmor had been in the military for over ten years. His enemies were the elite armies and strongest commanders of various nations.

A petty Linzell, a small Barbar Family—how could they compare to the caliber of Valmor’s foes?

Valmor’s words struck like a thunderous slap, publicly humiliating Linzell Barbar.

As the second young master of the Barbar Family, Linzell had always been untouchable, a man whom everyone feared and respected. Yet here he was, openly scorned by an unknown nobody. This was absolutely intolerable.

He gritted his teeth in rage, his face twisted into a cold snarl as he said. “Heh, an ant like you, so reckless as to speak nonsense—just who exactly are you?”

“Then listen carefully!”

“My surname is Kross, my given name Valmor!”

Valmor’s voice, like a great bell, resounded throughout the banquet hall, making everyone present’s hearts skip a beat.

Linzell frowned. The name seemed familiar, but he could not recall it clearly. Facing the surrounding guests, he asked with a half-smile:

“Valmor? I’ve never heard of you in either the legal or underworld circles. Does anyone here know him?”

The guests shook their heads; they had no knowledge of this unfamiliar name.

At that moment, a female voice suddenly spoke. “I know him!”

All eyes turned toward the source of the voice, and on the spiral staircase appeared a stunning figure—a beautiful and radiant woman, descending slowly in a dazzling gown.

The woman was gorgeous, her demeanor noble, and she slowly reached Linzell Barbar’s side, intimately linking arms with him.

Valmor’s pupils constricted sharply. He recognized her immediately: Kelsey!

“Let me introduce him to everyone. He’s the surviving remnant of the Kross Family. Over ten years ago, he went into the army and never returned home. A fugitive soldier. Who would have thought he’s still clinging to life?”

Kelsey glanced at the plainly dressed Valmor, eyes filled with contempt, deliberately using a mocking tone as she said loudly.

Hearing Kelsey’s words, Linzell immediately laughed disdainfully. “Heh, I thought he was some formidable figure, but turns out he’s just a stinking soldier!”

All the guests burst into laughter as well, thinking that someone who had been away in the army for over ten years and had disappeared without a trace would achieve nothing.

The Barbar Family, a century-old illustrious family, was now immensely wealthy, ranking as the number one family in Smaora City, wielding influence like a hand that could cover the sky—unmatched by anyone!

Such a prestigious family possessed power beyond ordinary imagination.

Valmor glared coldly at Kelsey, his voice deep and stern as he asked. “Kelsey, the Kross Family has treated you well. I was going to marry you into our family. Why did you repay our kindness with betrayal, turning against us and causing the ruin of my family?”

Kelsey looked at Valmor with disdain, leaning against Linzell Barbar’s chest, and said sharply. “What is the Kross Family? A small, insignificant household! And you? Nothing but a worthless incompetent! The Barbar Family is the rising sun among great clans, and Young Master Linzell Barbar is a dragon among men! Anyone with sense would know whom to choose between the two. The blame lies only with you for being worthless, with every single member of your Kross Family, all fools!”

“Valmor, is it? Today, in front of everyone, I’ll tell you—your Kross Family is mine to destroy! And what can you do to me? Other than helpless rage and tearful lamentations, what else can you do?”

Linzell Barbar fixed Valmor with the same scornful gaze, a wild, vicious grin spreading across his face.

“Hahaha! Hahaha!”

But unexpectedly, Valmor laughed—suddenly, loudly.

The sound of his laughter left everyone confused, their scalps tingling. This guy’s about to die, and he’s laughing? What’s so funny?

Kelsey’s face darkened. She asked coldly. “What are you laughing at?”

“I’m laughing at the two of you, this moron couple,” Valmor said. “You’re blind fools at the bottom of a well, thinking that controlling a trivial city like Smaora means you can act with impunity and disregard all others?”

“Now I’ve returned. You will pay a hideously unbearable price for your evil deeds! The Barbar Family, the Stone family… everyone who has persecuted the Kross Family is destined to find no peace in life, nor rest in death!”

As he spoke, Valmor’s eyes, dark as an abyss, hardened, overflowing with murderous intent.

“You insolent fools! Dying yet still defiant? Bring him! Kill him for me!” Linzell roared in rage, practically shaking with fury.

“That’s right! How dare he be arrogant on our turf! Let this remnant of the Kross Family join his useless relatives in the underworld!”

Kelsey also shouted sharply, urgent and fierce.

At Linzell’s command, a group of bodyguards in black suits surged into the hotel hall.

They were all tall, muscular, and fierce-looking, clearly men of violence. They surrounded Valmor tightly, drawing knives, machetes, and other deadly weapons.

The surrounding guests retreated, fearful of being caught in the crossfire.

Some softer-hearted guests shook their heads in sorrow. The Kross Family has already been destroyed. If Valmor has somehow survived, he should have fled to the ends of the earth, hiding where no one knows him, living a life of quiet survival, not coming back here to die!

“Kill him!” Linzell, exuding swagger and contempt, waved his hand and shouted.

Rushing sounds!

All the bodyguards charged at Valmor, weapons raised.

Bang!

At the very instant, Valmor casually slapped the face of one charging bodyguard. The man flew backward like a bundle of straw.

Crash!

As the bodyguard hit the ground, every bone in his body shattered with a horrifying cracking sound. He didn’t even have time to cry out—he was dead instantly.

Shocked!

Terrified!

The remaining bodyguards froze, eyes wide, trembling all over, exchanging glances, none daring to act rashly.

“Hmph! Bring Lord Arkanis to me!”

Linzell sneered, still dismissing Valmor completely. At the mention of Lord Arkanis, the guests murmured in surprise.

Lord Arkanis had long been one of the Barbar Family’s trump cards in major crises. He was an elite fighter from the Highcrest Dragon Unit, a three-time consecutive champion in hand-to-hand combat within the team.

Valmor’s brows also furrowed slightly at the name Lord Arkanis…

It was clear that she genuinely wanted to help Valmor.Valmor smiled helplessly, saying nothing. “Come on, Ravena, what kind of job do you think you can find for this guy? Even at his best, can it beat Miller’s annual salary of over 300,000?” Morrigan Vexley quickly interjected.“Ravena, why don’t you just resign and work for me! I happen to need a secretary. You help me, and I can guarantee a monthly salary of over ten thousand!”Zilton seized the chance to tempt her.“Over ten thousand a month?
