Chapter 10, Two years.

A lightning strike criss crossed across the sky of city rose, the dark clouds shrouded the streets, with a drop leading the way millions more began to fall on the capital city of empire voltrose.

“One more over here boy”. A customer yelled out while choking down a cup of wine and meat.

“Coming”. Elias’s bass voice replied from behind the counter, he grabbed a tray filled with beer and leaped over the counter.

Elias landed firmly with his feet’s placed on the ground. “Hey old man Ken, I heard you made a killing this time around”. Elias said as he dropped the tray of wine jars on the table.

“Hahahha, Nothing gets passed Angel’s kid after all, my boys and I got hired to Assassinate some politician over in empire Mali, apparently he pissed off a prince of Bida, but what does the details have to do with us, money is all that matters”. Ken immediately erupted into wild laughter together with his companions.

Elias chuckled lightly, “Well just try to be careful, Mom said she’s not taking in anyone’s kid if they get themselves killed”.

“Well that’s Angel for you, Hahahaha”. The laughter of Ken and his companions shook the taverns walls.

Elias dropped the tray at the counter, took off the apron he had on and went into the back, when he arrived Angel was already waiting for him.

“Are those dumbass still drinking”. Angel said coldly.

“Yeah, apparently they wanna party all night”.

Angel snorted,”Hope they drown in all the leaker”.

Elias smiled wearily, Angel really doesn’t like men that drink, especially when they do it in groups.

“Alright enough with that, come over here”.

Elias went up to Angel and sat in front of her, he gazed straight into her eyes without blinking.

“Your hands”, Angel said.

Elias raised his hands and met that of Angel’s, moments later golden mana free flowed into Elias from Angel, Elias’s brows crossed in pain. “Endure it “. Angel comforted.

The session lasted for several hours until Elias finally gave out, not only was he panting like he ran a hundred meter marathon race but he was also drenched from head to toe.

Angel stood up and went over to the shelve and grabbed a bottle of wine, she hated men drinking but it’s alright if they’re women.

She filled her cup and took a sip, meanwhile Elias unbuttoned he’s shirt and took it off while still in the room.

Angel didn’t really feel much of anything after all she basically raised the kid, but even she found it difficult not to admire he’s stunning physique.

He’s arms were tough and veiny, not too large but just the right size, he’s abs were ripped and chiseled, he’s skin had a light tan probably as a result of Angel’s daily routines, he’s jaw line looked like it was carved out by a Greek god, he’s looks were already top tier two years ago and that was when he still had a semblance of childishness in him, but now not only is he a well equipped and responsible adult but an extremely good-looking one.

“Go wash up in the back, don’t mess with my customers hygiene”. Angel said indifferently.

......

Sometime later, Elias came-out of the bathroom with a towel strapped around he’s waist, he looked around the room but Angel was gone, “Again”.

.....

The heavy downpour never really ceased in city rose which limited the movement of the citizens, but that only applies to ordinary citizens.

A golden streak of lightning surfed through the air before landing in-front of a building on the outskirts of town.

The area was worn down and littered with trash, unlike the interior this part of the city still had people in the streets, the people weren’t there because they wanted to but simply because they were too poor to afford houses.

The groovy and worn-out area easily attracted criminals and aggressive gangs of all kinds.

Angel knocked on a black door three consecutive times, there was a moment of silence before soft foot steps made their way to the door and unlocked it from the inside.

The interior of the building was small, the only thing in it was a couch and a small table, but that wasn’t their destination.

Both Angel and the man moved to the small room besides the living room, the inside was even smaller than the first one, the only thing in it was a table with a cloaked object laying on it.

“So hows training going?”. The man said with a smile, clearly attempting to start up small talk but Angel wasn’t in the mood.

“Not your business jack”.

Jack smiled wearily while Angel moved up to the table and pulled the white sheet away.

When the sheet was removed a wild stench invaded their nostrils causing them both to crease their brows, laying on the table was a corpse, the corpse looked like it has been moved to many different places even after it had died, not only were the clothes it had on ripped but it’s face also looked like it has been ravaged, not by a beast but by a fellow human.

“Where did you get this specimen from”. Angel asked coldly.

“From the frozen plains, the government was doing a good job keeping them out of site but secrets can only stay hidden for so long”. Jack replied somberly.

“Do you have a catalyst with you?”. Angel said while plying off a bit of leftover ice on the fingertips of the body.

“I can, but it will take about six years give or take”. Jack replied with a lazy expression.

“Make it three”.

“Four is all I can do, even with the sleepless nights included”.

Angel frowned lightly, she really didn’t have much time to spare, but if you can’t do it yourself you might have well agree to the doers therms.

“Four years it is then”.
