Believe Me?

Chapter 2

It only took a few seconds, Oliver was impatient and when Dae opened his mouth, he tensed up even more.

“You will get quests to complete. And the prizes can be skills, items, bloodlines, or special objects. Of course, it will make your strength increase”

Dae's explanation left Oliver speechless. He didn't expect that he couldn't just calm down even if he obtained the Apocalypse survival system.

He had to do a quest?

“Then, when will I get the quest?” He wanted to know everything immediately to think of any necessary action.

"The system will tell you." Dae took the burger that was in front of Oliver, ate it in one gulp and Oliver looked around him restlessly.

His eyes widened because what Dae did just now could have been seen by other humans.

"They won't see it."

Dae tilted his head, and he responded calmly.

"You don't have any questions? If there aren't any, I'll go back and take a nap."

Oliver immediately caught Dae's hand, and he spoke. "The text that appeared on the notification screen is the time of the incident, right? Can't I prevent it? For example, are the zombies due to the umbrella company or something? For example, I have to prevent before the damn zombie explosion, so there won't be more zombie attacks in the world and I can live in peace afterward." Oliver stuttered several times as he said it. Cold sweat appeared and he was confused about how to explain, he hoped that Dae would understand his words which seemed fast.

Dae gave him a flat, annoying human.

"You won't be able to prevent it. I don't know where the zombies came from, just enjoy this zombie attack."

Oliver opened his mouth, scary. This guide is creepy because he is cold and heartless, and the fact that zombies can't be prevented from attacking is also terrifying.

Dae was about to move, and Oliver frantically held his hand tighter.

"Then how should I address you? You're my guide, and maybe I'll need you again."

Dae could see the human anxiety in front of him. A pitiful-looking weak human. Dae Grinning from ear to ear. A scary look that made Oliver's heartbeat he could hear clear.

"Like you called me earlier."

He immediately disappeared in front of Oliver, instantly making Oliver exhale.

"Very annoying guide." Oliver looked at his burger plate earlier and immediately called a waiter to order a burger again.

Oliver continued to carry out the plan he had thought up so quickly earlier.

He had managed to salvage his house deed and take it to the bank, being the rightful heir of this house he could mortgage it readily.

"I don't need that house anymore. Sorry mom and dad, but this is to save my life."

Oliver walked into the large bank that was in front of him. Because he had all the paperwork, the quick loan process relieved him.

"Tomorrow I have to come here again, they have prepared the money." Oliver saw the bank behind him, he smiled a little as he walked back.

“It's a bit cheap cheap, but that would buy me another place I could use to run away and stock up on lots of groceries.”

Oliver touched his chin, he remembered what Dae had taught him. A quest he will do.

"It seems I need a weapon to protect myself."

He had thought about it well, that his home was not the right home to survive. He would face a lot of zombies later in the middle of a city like this, he better finds a safer place than this.

He had to prepare weapons, food, and medicines properly. As he was thinking about what he should do,

His cell phone in his trouser pocket vibrated, Oliver immediately took the cell phone and saw a message from a friend.

"Come here, we should relax and have a drink."

Oliver quickly got on the bus to go to where Dereck was. He is a genuine friend and Oliver plans to take him along, avoiding the imminent apocalypse.

**

At the bar that Dereck had chosen, Oliver entered. He immediately saw Dereck trying to flirt with the woman beside him.

"Dereck, your hands are still wild." Oliver sat beside Dereck, who immediately ignored the woman beside him.

"A man should be like that." He took a sip of beer from the bottle.

"You look different than usual, Oliver. You didn't come to work today either."

Oliver took the drink the barman had just given him, he sipped his drink very casually.

"I quit work," he replied indifferently.

"You need money. You said your wife likes to buy nice things.”

Oliver's expression looked flat, he continued to drink beer from his glass.

“You fought with Della?” asked Dereck, he knew his friend loved Della.

"I don't have anything to do with her anymore, and I don't need that damn job anymore because the world is ending."

Dereck's brows knit together, something different was going on.

"You follow a cult?" asked Dereck suspiciously.

"Not." Oliver's body facing Dereck, he was silent for a few seconds with serious eyes. I told you we must make preparations to survive, Dereck."

“Ah, you are talking nonsense again. Are you going to show me some cheap magic trick again this time ?”

"In a few days, the world will be destroyed, I'm trying to save you, Dereck."

Dereck immediately touched Oliver's forehead in response to Oliver's strange words.

"Or do you have a strange virus that makes you ramble like this?" Dereck still did not accept Oliver's words.

Oliver paused for a moment, he tried to find a way to convince Dereck. Say anything, he will not be believed. He needs proof for Dereck to believe and follow him.

"Listen to me, two days away from the winner of MMA is Kevin Mark, the boxer you've been making fun of."

Oliver often heard from Dereck's mouth how weak Kevin's punches were; even Kevin had never won any matches. Then, his opponent in two days is Lander, last year's MMA winner.

Dereck's loud laughter was heard, he hit the table repeatedly, expressing his amusement at hearing his friend's words.

"That's impossible, Oliver!"

When he saw Oliver, Oliver's eyes were still severe.

"It's good that you don't think that's possible, when what I say comes true, you'll believe what I'm saying if we have to get out of here quickly."

Dereck swallowed his saliva. He didn't know that Oliver, who often walked around with his head down and complaining, was being so strict like this.

“Ah, I will give you a suggestion too, you better sell your fish. He's going to die, so don't miss the chance that people coming will buy him.”

Dereck was silent, he hadn't even told about a collector who came to see his fish and wanted to buy the fish for 1500$ Atlansia

“You give me goosebumps...” Dereck answered in a weak voice and started to get goosebumps himself.

**

Early in the morning, a very noisy cell phone was heard repeatedly.

Oliver got up from his bed and saw a phone call from Dereck. Two days had passed and it was only ten in the morning. Oliver smiled.

"Yeah, what's wrong, Dereck?" asked Oliver very casually.

He already knew what answer he would hear, but he wanted to hear Dereck himself say it.

“You are a psychic!?” Dereck's scream made Oliver's right ear hurt.

"Why?" asked Oliver in response calmly.

“Kevin Mark won against Lander! And... My fish poppy is dead!” He squeezed her hand tightly, feeling the frustration of experiencing two unexpected things that messed with his feelings.

"Now, you believe me?" Oliver asked Dereck.

At home, Dereck sat in a chair with a limp body. Popy's corpse was still floating in the aquarium that he had not cleaned.

"Yes. How about we meet, Oliver?” Dereck said in a neat voice. This made no sense, but he had seen the evidence himself.
