MIRA'S POV.."My heart was beating as we drove along the highway, heading into battle against the Mullers. I had my revolvers in my hands and my heart in my throat as we got closer to our target. I was scared that we would fail or that one of us would die and a part of me didn't want to be here.Three years I had been alone after I lost my pack, three years I isolated myself and didn't grow attached but here I was now, with a new pack that I was happy to call family. I had to shove my fears inside a cage in my mind and lock them away. I had to be brave for them so I closed my eyes and felt the soft wind on my face, hoping it wouldn't be the last time I felt so free."..."There's the truck!" Mira announced after she saw it just ahead of them."But where are the Mullers?" Maximus inquired in the driver's seat.As if his question was a signal, the Mudders answered it. Two pick-up trucks came onto the road from out of nowhere and were just behind the Spade Chemicals transport truck.
ALIYAH'S POV..."It had been two weeks since I met the pack and so much had happened since then. My life before all this wasn't something I would describe as adventurous or exhilarating because I was alone for most of it and didn't know what it meant to be loved by someone unconditionally, or at least I didn't know anymore. But now, it had all the thrills, and if I'm being honest with myself, being a Were-Pire has been more of a blessing to me rather than a curse. This new exciting life was given to me but it came with a few risks, and I don't know how it'll all play out in the end but what I do know is that we will make it, together. All of us together."******"Damn it!" Maximus said angrily and got out of the truck.Jack and Jill were silent because they weren't quite sure what was happening although they were a major part of it."He got away and he had some barrels in his truck," Jess said after she jumped out of the transport to talk with Maximus."What was in those barrels?"
Insecure wasn't a word Mira would normally use to describe herself. She was a strong, able, capable, badass She-Wolf that always had things under control and barely showed any vulnerabilities. But, she was feeling insecure although she tried to conceal it. Ever since Aliyah and Jess imprinted, she had been wondering if she and Max were even meant to be together. It should have happened by now, Mira thought to herself. She wasn't ready to quit though. She hadn't fully explored her feelings for Maximus but she knew she loved him and wanted to be his mate for life but if they didn't imprint, she would surely lose him to someone else and that was something she wasn't ready for.Mira decided to try again tonight. She was going to spend the night with Maximus in hopes of triggering the imprint. This would be their third time mating and she hoped it would do the trick. She wore a dark, sexy lingerie and wrapped a bathrobe around her body. She left her room and sneaked into Maximus' without m
"What are you?" Damien asked."Your ticket back to hell!" Aliyah replied angrily and charged at him in mid-shift.Before the hellhound could brace himself for impact, he felt a hard punch on his jaw that sent him flying across the empty street. Aliyah was now in full were-pire shift and growled in anger as she chased after Damien. She reached him and landed another heavy punch on his face that struck him right on the chin and sent him rolling on the ground to the other side of the walkway. Aliyah charged at him for a third time with her fist wrapped and heading for his jaw but this time, he caught her hand with his just before she struck him. His eyes were on fire and the veins along his arms were glowing hot. He was now also in full shift which made him strong enough to counter Aliyah's heavy punch. His burning hot claws retracted out of his fingers and he took a swing at Aliyah and slashed her across the face, blasting her away from him with full force. The stage was now set for a
"Stop it, Aliyah!" Jess cried out and jumped at her before she could insert her fangs into the man's neck. The three of them fell to the ground and the drunk man hit his head on a rock and fell unconscious. Aliyah got up and ran over to Jess. She picked her up by the neck and growled loudly. She was out of control and it very much looked like she was about to harm her mate."Aliyah, you need to calm down," Jess said to her soothingly although she was being choked. She grabbed Aliyah's face with both hands and looked deeply into her eyes with her heart and mind bare and open for her to see, for her to feel, for her to hold on to and pull herself out of the rage."Remember who you are, Aliyah and fight the rage." Jess urged her on.Aliyah slowly began to regain her senses. Her glowing red eyes began to flicker from red to black until they stayed black. She became shorter and weaker and let go of Jess' neck and they both fell to the ground. She sat up and realized what she had done or, a
Doctor Harrison walked over to a man restrained on an operating table with a syringe in his hand. He was gagged and chained up like a wild animal and was being subjected to all sorts of torture. The restrained man was a werewolf that was serving as a test subject for the doctor's experiments. He was struggling on the table, afraid of the needle in the mad doctor's hand. He closed his eyes and tried to unleash his wolf but it would not come out."Don't even bother trying to shift. I have injected twenty-five milligrams of Wolfsbane directly into your bloodstream. You won't be able to shapeshift for at least twelve hours and by then, you'll most likely already be dead." The doctor said without an atom of sympathy.Doctor Harrison took the needle and stabbed it into the heart of the werewolf. He had this crazed look in his eyes and it seemed like he was getting off of the werewolf's suffering. His attempt to recreate Aliyah's formula had been going on for days and he hadn't gotten the r
"Where is he?" Peace asked with her dagger in her hand, alert and ready to fight."Relax Peace. Obara is gone, for now at least." Jennifer assured her."What happened to him?" Peace asked."We tried to use the banishing spell on him but we couldn't. He ran back to the underworld," Francesca said."That means we have at least seven days before he returns and we have to be ready this time," Peace said and stood up.Peace looked around and could see that she was surrounded by a lot of young witches and realized what they had all done to save her life and was beyond grateful."You all brought me back?" She asked with appreciation in her eyes."We need you in this fight Peace. The days of great suffering draw closer and closer and we need all the witches we can get." Francesca replied."Thank you, Francesca." Peace said."My daughters and I have to go now, but we'll be back when you need us again," Francesca said. The purple-eyed Witch opened a portal and her and her five young witches ste
Peace took Maximus for a walk around the premises of the estate so she could tell him about the woman she saw in her vision that mentioned Maximus' name."What did you want to speak to me about?" Maximus asked."When I was still a human, I used to have dreams just like everybody and I considered them as just dreams that didn't mean anything. But, after I became a witch, my dreams became more than just my subconscious at play. They became visions, they became hints, messages, and glimpses of the future. They became warnings and premonitions and all of them, no matter how insignificant they seem were always important," Peace said."Did you have one of your visions again?" Maximus asked."Yes I did, and it had something to do with you," Peace said."Me?" Maximus asked feeling perplexed."Well, you weren't exactly in it but your name was mentioned by a woman who I didn't recognize but maybe you do," Peace said."What woman?" Maximus wondered. "I don't know and that's why I asked to spea
