“Luca, you’ve reached adulthood, and I think it’s time you entered into a relationship to give me an heir,” Genoven said, pointing to the veiled woman. “Meet Astrid. She’s the heiress to Lagos, the shipping company. If you marry her, our family will have a much more established business, and we’ll rule the seas.”

“Ruling the seas, huh?” Luca glanced at Astrid, and he remembered her life story all too well.

Astrid Lagos was the eldest child of the Lagos family, and should have lived a life of great fortune.

She was once a teenage model, but that was until her face was burned by a fire that then burned her entire body.

No heir wanted her, but Luca felt he should now, and a blue tablet appeared in front of him, telling him to say yes.

“So, Luca, if you want to back out, know that I won’t give you a second chance to…”

“Okay, I’ll marry her.”

“What?!”

Genoven stared at Luca in disbelief. The veiled woman immediately sat up straight, and Ava stared at him widebeyed. Luca raised an eyebrow.

Isn't this what everyone wants for him? Playing along and obeying?

"So, when does the wedding start?" Luca asked. "After this, I'll definitely be sitting on Kane's throne, right? Well, I'd love to do it now if I could, but I don't have the divorce papers yet because my ex wife just remarried and she thought I was dead."

"W-well, that'll have to wait for confirmation from the Lagos family first, since the reception will be held on the boat and be private," Genoven continued to stare at Luca in disbelief. "Anyway, let's sit down and talk first. We also need to hear from the woman, right? Does she agree to this marriage?"

Genoven added, and Luca grinned, watching as his father ordered white tea for him, signifying a warm welcome at the Kane home.

The conversation didn't last long, as Luca simply nodded and agreed with everything his father said, and when the agreement was reached, Luca casually shook hands.

With the woman who would soon be his wife.

Luca's gut feeling told him the woman wasn't exactly thrilled about marrying him, and he was happy to see that they were on the same page.

“What's wrong with you?” Ava asked once they were out of the room.

Luca furrowed his brows, clearly confused.

“Marriage? Did you really just accept it? Would you marry someone you don't even know their faces for money?” Ava asked.

“Of course, that's why I joined this game in the first place, right? To become powerful and make this world my laboratory or something?” Luca asked back. “Why? Do you have a shortcut so I can avoid all these steps?”

“No, it's just that I—”

“Luca, do you have a minute? I need to talk to you about something,” Genoven appeared from the door, approaching them. “Just the two of us. Miss Ava can wait in the next room with the other girls.”

“Please, Luca. It's been so long since we've spoken. I just want to talk to my daughter. I miss you, Captain,” Genoven said.

Luca fell silent upon hearing this. It had been a long time since his father had called him by his childhood nickname, and it felt like they would always see each other again, right?

Better to maintain good relations.

“Okay, but hurry, because I’m not here for small talk,” Luca said, following his father back to his study.

“What did you want to say, Dad?” Luca asked, getting straight to the point as soon as they entered the room.

“Luca, before that, I just wanted to say I’m sorry about your mother. About her death, I never thought she would commit suicide. She should have known I never took her seriously, and I…”

“I’m not here to discuss your regrets about the past,” Luca’s eyes lit up at the mention of his mother. The floor and furniture in Genoven’s room shook, and Luca took a deep breath.

He tried to calm himself as the system warned him about power consumption.

“I won’t even forget how you caused my mother’s death, but one thing is for sure: I’m only here to seize your throne,” Luca said. “If you have nothing to say, then excuse me. I still have some business to attend to.”

“Okay, then I understand,” Genoven sighed. “If that’s the case, then I can only warn you about Damon. He might take your throne because I kicked him out of the Kane family.”

“I removed him from my heir list, Luca, and that makes you my only legitimate heir,” Genoven said, and Luca looked at him. “Always be careful because I didn’t send him away properly, and please. Don’t make me regret this decision by taking you back. No one is as skilled as you as an alchemist, Luca.”

“Okay, I’ll be careful. I won’t disappoint you, Father, don’t worry,” Luca nodded.

The conversation ended as Luca left the room, and right after he left, a girl wearing only her underwear entered his father’s room.

Luca had always been indifferent to beautiful girls, and that’s probably why he targeted Lisa, a bookish girl studying hard at university, which was the stupidest decision Luca had ever made.

“Please, Young Master Kane… Help me!!” A girl in a sexy gypsy outfit suddenly bumped into Luca.

Luca frowned deeply as the girl pulled herself closer to him, and as he tried to telekinetically grab the Katana that hanging on the wall, thinking that Damon's trap had already begun... The girl suddenly unhooked her bra.

Luca's face flushed red at the sight of the breasts in front of him.

"What are you—"

"Fiancé! I've been looking everywhere for you!" Ava's voice rang out from the other side.

The system girl appeared with a strange aura surrounding her, and as her eyes glanced around the corner, Luca spotted Astrid behind the wall.

She was staring intently at him.
