‘Again?’

Jason felt he couldn’t find the path he was looking for.

All ninety magic nodes from his shoulder to his feet were open, and he felt the raging power rushing through them with ease. Technically, the gravity should no longer work on him, yet it didn’t happen. He had the Magic nodes, but not the power of a Grandwizard.

‘Wizards must be the most awkward class.’

Jason wondered why filling his Magic nodes with Cosmic power didn’t give him the ability to surpass human boundaries. According to Amelia, other power users didn’t have this issue. Only the wizards had to learn proper spells to reach the next level.

He felt everything had come to an abrupt halt. The reason was he failed to feel a path to open up the next Magic node.

The past couple of months had been extremely busy for Jason to focus on his advancement.

‘At least it is a success.’

The ongoing festival proved to be an immense success as it attracted players and natives from all over the world. There was another week before the conclusion of the anniversary celebration, and more people came to Light Shone with each passing day.

The number of Grandmasters in Light Shone at the moment surpassed the number of Grandmasters in the entire Alexandria. If not for Amelia’s ability to overlook Light Shone, this astronomical number would have been more of a disaster to them.

After all, not all Grandmasters had the decency to control their strength, and some had their own conflicts with each other. The most troublesome part was the threat these Grandmasters posed to the natives of Light Shone. They were the most vulnerable group since these Grandmasters couldn’t kill the players.

Since Light Shone wasn’t affiliated with any kingdom, the rules of the village weren’t considered that important by most people. Because of that, they had to hire Grandmaster Adventurers scattered across the Southwestern continent for a hefty price. There was another group of twenty assassins from the Assassins League hiding in the dark, protecting the natives of the Crystal Pulse.

The attraction they got from the world had many positive effects, but it also had some negative effects like this one. The response he got from Earth after they revealed Dawn and Logan was also one of them. The first two players to reach the Master level after him caught many eyes since no other player reached this level after a year. It was obvious the players wanted their secret.

‘It took them almost a year to reach that point. I wonder if those who know the truth realise they are running out of time.’

Jason got the reaction he expected from Dane’s side.

A group of so-called friends from Dane’s side wanted to learn from the Crystal Pulse without actually joining them. Jason wondered if Dane and the others stopped these people from joining the Crystal Pulse because they considered his requirements, or if these people didn’t want to affiliate with the Crystal Pulse.

Either way, they couldn’t hide too many things for too long. If he kept the modified Mana breathing for himself, people would soon question his unnatural growth. In a sense, the Crystal Pulse was his cover to hide his past.

“What are you doing?”

“Eh… Nothing!”

Jason kept his eyes closed, trying to avoid Amelia’s piercing gaze. Still, he felt her eyes on him pretty well. He couldn’t leave the room while Hanna was asleep, and Amelia’s eyes were his other distraction.

He felt her power entering his body and following the circulation pattern for a while.

“Nothing?”

“I mean… I am trying to open up the next Magic node.”

“How? What are you even doing?”

Jason felt her voice right next to him before he felt her knocking on his forehead.

“You already have two extra nodes. Why aren’t you following that path?”

“Huh?”

Jason opened his eyes to see Amelia staring at his face a few inches away.

“I can’t feel a connection. It is as if those two nodes are a separate system.”

It wasn’t like he didn’t try

“Do you think those are special?”

Amelia took a step back and raised her brow in amusement.

“I mean….”

Jason felt ashamed by Amelia’s question. He really thought those two Magic nodes were special. After all, he never knew of another wizard with his special eyes.

“It is called the Eye of Wizard for a reason… It is not like those are something special. It is just that you shouldn’t be able to open them at that stage.”

“But you said….”

“Yes. It is not natural to see other people’s Magic Sphere, but those eyes themself aren’t special. As for you being able to see through others' Magic Spheres even before they become wizards, I think it has something to do with your Magic Sphere.”

Amelia shook her head.

“But that is not right. I mean… Others must have tried to reach this way, right?”

It was impossible for people to border their brains, right?

The first ninety Magic nodes were below the head, and it was impossible for someone to not try and reach toward their brains.

“It isn’t about them not trying. People here use primitive Mana breathing methods. They are secretive about their own methods and do not teach others. How are they going to advance? It takes them decades just to open ninety Magic nodes. They might run out of their years before they actually find a method on their own.”

Jason thought for a moment and felt what Amelia said might be true.

Wizards of Yuriel didn’t teach their apprentices and the future generation in a proper manner. No one had years like him to study those things properly, and it looked impossible to find a solution on his own.

“This is the line.”

“What line?”

Jason stared at Amelia’s charming face.

“The line between mortal and beyond. Why do you think the path so far was so easy? Without your power supporting your brain, it is impossible to break through the limits of mortality.”

“Mortality?”

Jason tried to circulate his power again. All the Magic nodes seemed to be connected to each other, creating a full circle. However, when he tried to activate the Magic nodes behind his eyes, he felt the power of the Cosmic sphere entering them from a separate path.

There was no connection between the two sides.

“It isn’t easy. If going beyond was so easy, there would be so many who could simply become powerful. It isn’t going to be easy from here on.”

“Ah….”

Jason lost his words when he heard Amelia.

‘Was it ever easy?’

He had to figure it all out on his own. Sure, Amelia was a great help, but she wasn’t a wizard. Besides, he had so many other things to do, like helping Samson to create a training method.

“You should think about arranging a proper system for the village. How are you planning on focusing on yourself?”

“I know… I will do it.”

Jason felt the ticking time as he thought about the past year.

A lot happened, and he actually felt happy.

He gained a family, and he became strong. He surpassed what he had been in his past life. Jason felt he might be able to reach Grand Wizard level in five years, but it wasn’t enough. He had to go beyond.

“Mortal and beyond? I should go beyond.’

He looked at Hanna’s peaceful face. She was in deep sleep with Nyx in her embrace. It wouldn't be long before she noticed them being missing from the bed, and Jason already saw some unrest in her small face.

Those feelings made him feel a sense of belonging. If he wanted to protect what he had, he had to reach beyond. Creating a proper system for Light Shone was just a part of the things he had to do.

  • 306 - The Messenger

The atmosphere grew heavier, the tension thickening with each breath. The envoys from the Brodice Kingdom stood their ground, their jaws clenched in barely contained frustration.Their eyes—especially those of the Grandmasters—never left Amelia. There was fear there, even if none of them dared to admit it. One step too far, and they knew she could crush them where they stood.Still, their leader stepped forward, holding a scroll with trembling fingers masked by feigned authority.“We are envoys of the Brodice Kingdom,” he declared, voice echoing with forced confidence.“I stand here on behalf of His Majesty—the absolute ruler of our lands. In his name, we extend a proposal of peace. We are willing to lift the bounty on your head... in exchange for removing the bounties you have placed on His Majesty and his subjects.”His words were rehearsed—measured—but anyone could see the nerves behind them.“No.” The room froze. The envoy blinked.“W–What?” Even the officials of Light Shone looked

  • 305 - Tell Me

‘This place… it’s really busy…’ The hooded figure observed the bustling administrative hall in silent awe. He had expected chaos—a disorganised mess of self-proclaimed rulers who were unfit to govern. But instead, what he saw was efficiency. Decisions were being made on the spot, minor issues were being resolved instantly, and orders were being swiftly relayed.Even without direct oversight, everything flowed seamlessly. The alien humans had a system, and they had something else, something his people lacked—Instant communication. He knew of it. They called it a forum or something.‘A divided authority, yet still centralised around a leader…’ His gaze flickered toward the two empty seats in the center of the hall. A symbol of true leadership. Those seated around them were not aristocrats, not nobles, but humble-looking men and women dressed in practical, simple clothing. Yet their eyes were sharp, their minds sharper. Each of them radiated competence.‘These aren’t placeholders. These

  • 304 - An Overwhelming Prescence

‘So, this is Light Shone.’His hidden eyes scanned the streets as he walked leisurely, moving unseen alongside the startled envoys.‘Still too small, but… this is serious potential.’He had slipped out of the carriage as the guards inspected it, effortlessly avoiding their scrutiny. While his invisibility shielded him from their eyes, he still occupied physical space—and he preferred not to take the risk of being noticed. With measured steps, he blended into the bustling streets. What he saw defied his expectations. The village was alive. It wasn’t just busy—it thrived.Shops occupied every available space, their owners negotiating prices with eager customers. People bustled past him, engaged in work yet carrying an air of contentment, their movements purposeful, their faces filled with ease. This was not the Light Shone he remembered.‘Back then, it was different.’It had been just as lively, but the stench of blood clung to the air, and signs of death lurked at every corner. "Is this... alright, My Lord?""Yes. And pretend I was never here. Once we pass through, you won’t see me again. Do you understand? No one must know I was ever here.""Yes! Yes, My Lord!""And... no one else knows I am here, correct?" The hooded figure’s voice sharpened deliberately."N-No! No, My Lord! We... we are departing soon!" The envoy stammered, his body trembling as he hastily retreated to the far corner of the carriage.‘Sigh… How useless.’The hooded man barely spared him another glance. The Brodice Kingdom had neither the power nor the will to resist the Grand Order that had been issued. It had been nearly a decade since the last decree from the Grand Wizards, and that one had shaken the world, announcing the arrival of an immortal alien.‘But this might be the first time in centuries that they had to step in to stop a minor war.’He turned his gaze to the passing scenery outside the carriage window, watching in silence. No one, aside from the envoy and a handful of high-ra

  • 302 - No Longer Human

"Grandmaster Amelia…""He’s playing with Hanna and his magic," Amelia cut Dane off before he could finish, hanging the freshly washed clothes on the line.Even after a year of constant change in Light Shone, this small household had remained the same. It was still under Amelia’s care. The village’s housing structure remained untouched as new construction projects focused on essential production facilities and accommodations for the new settlers arriving through the ongoing clearing operations. Infrastructure plans were in place, but progress was slow due to the sheer number of projects they were juggling. If Jason or Amelia had wanted, they could have easily upgraded their home—no one would have objected. After all, this small house was the heart of the Crystal Pulse, the centre of absolute power within the faction. Yet, despite its democratic structure, the organization operated with near-perfect coordination. The faction under Magnus from the Secret Service, the Saintess Guild, the

The following day, a massive announcement took the world by storm. News spread rapidly across every platform as the World Builders—the enigmatic developers behind The Endless—finally broke their silence regarding Amelia Erwin and the controversy surrounding Jason Hope and his allies. However, the announcement wasn’t what anyone had expected. In a statement that stunned players worldwide, the World Builders declared, “There are no faults or bugs being exploited by Jason Hope or his allies. All game mechanics, items, and events associated with them are functioning as intended. As such, no corrections are necessary.”The announcement sent shockwaves through the gaming community. Many players had hoped for a clear resolution, perhaps even a punitive response toward Jason Hope and the Crystal Pulse. Instead, the World Builders stood firmly behind their design, acknowledging no wrongdoing on their part or by Jason and his people. But what followed was even more surprising. The World Builder

  • 300 - Grand Order

"What a small place," the hooded figure muttered as he entered the heart of the Brodice Kingdom’s capital. His voice, a slightly older male tone, carried a mix of amusement and disappointment. "And why is their security so bad?" he added, his sharp eyes scanning the bustling streets.Soldiers packed every corner and alley, their inspections meticulous. Even the citizens were forced to pass through layers upon layers of security just to move about. Yet, despite the apparent vigilance, no one noticed him. Draped in a black cloak, the figure walked openly down the middle of the road, his presence going entirely undetected."Well... they have to be careful. That bounty is indeed tempting," he muttered to himself, a sly grin creeping across his hidden face. "Ah, I wish I were as young as I was back then. Maybe I could’ve finished off these weaklings myself for that reward." His voice carried a mocking tone. "The Crystal Pulse? What a bland name for such a daring organisation."He chuckled s

  • 299 - Question With No Answer

"No, I’m saying they’re going overboard.""Isn’t that what they always do? This isn’t the first time The Crystal Pulse has attacked players unprovoked.""We have to do something about it—fast."The discussion had devolved into an argument the moment it started. Some of the most famous gamers across the country had gathered in one place, a rare occurrence in itself. The Endless had grown too big to ignore, and even gamers who had avoided it initially had now established themselves in the challenging yet captivating world of the game.Ironically, most of them seemed to have forgotten that The Crystal Pulse was the primary reason players had been able to thrive in The Endless in the first place. It was The Crystal Pulse’s infrastructure and guidance that allowed players to survive in this mercilessly realistic game. Their success had been the beacon that drew many to the VR game considered the hardest ever created. Yet here they were, plotting ways to overthrow the very organization that

"We move out in an hour!" Logan’s commanding voice echoed through the camp, followed by a notification on their armbands. The message was clear: time to prepare.Gillian gritted her teeth as she tightened the strap around the wound on her arm, the healing paste already numbing the pain. She had a few healing potions tucked away in her pack, but she knew she couldn’t waste them. Supplies were limited, and every soldier had been issued a fixed amount by Crystal Pulse. While the organization would do whatever it took to keep them alive, this was part of their training—learning to manage resources in the heat of battle.'I heard they’re watching us anyway,' Gillian thought, her mind drifting. Since leaving Light Shone, several Grandmasters had vanished from the village, and she suspected they were nearby, keeping a close eye on the mission. The first and most important rule for Crystal Pulse players was not to die, even if respawning in eighteen hours was an option.'Logan is confident en
