“No! I will not let you go in.”

Brood’s voice was sharp and loud, and Jason felt the surrounding air vibrate with her voice.

“It is already spreading. Send out one of your Drones and check the caves to the north. There is a crack.”

Jason didn’t care about Brood’s rant at the moment.

He was much stronger than before.

Even if he failed to defeat Brood, he was confident enough to survive against her and escape. Besides, Amelia should be already on her way here.

“But… But… This is the only place I am supposed to protect. I… I didn’t let anything escape.”

Brood’s voice broke a little as she tried to suppress the agitation.

“Check it out. I can feel the monsters roaming beneath those cracks, and it won’t be long before they escape.”

“But….”

“There is no time. She is coming, and she is angry. So check it out. We will go in there and finish it, Brood. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not. It is too dangerous and we are going to end whatever is down there.”

Jason had no idea what kind of door Brood was here to protect, but he knew there was a seal in it. There were no signs of corruption or red mist escaping from beneath. However, there was no way for him to know while Brood prevented him from accessing the lowest level of the mines.

There was a brief silence between them, and Jason felt a few smaller spiders moving out of his vicinity. These creatures were not actual spiders but summoned creatures of Brood. They would hunt and scout for Brood and could only follow her commands. They shared their senses with Brood and allowed her to see and feel through them. Still, these small creatures had a strength similar to that of an elite warrior.

‘Sigh.’

He sat down in a corner, waiting for Brood to find the crack.

‘I don’t have a proper sword. Should I use spells?’

He wondered if he could utilise his spells in a proper battle.

Until now, he hasn’t faced any significant battle using his spells. Even when he faced the ambush against the Will of God, he didn’t feel any pressure from his enemies. With Amelia around, he didn’t have to watch his back, and he had enough power to simply kill all the enemies.

This was the first time he had to face a significant threat, and Amelia didn’t have the time to watch his back. Their enemies could very well be on par with them and even could be stronger than them.

‘I hope not. Can we even escape?’

He fell into deep thought, ignoring Brood’s accusing eyes.

“You can play with the sword when we get back.”

“Really? Yey, Mommy!”

Hanna suddenly became cheerful after listening to Amelia.

“Mommy is the best.”

She showered Amelia with kisses of Joy.

“But you have to behave today. You have to wait until Mommy and Daddy come back, okay?”

“Okay, Mommy!”

“And don’t create trouble.”

“Hanna will not create trouble.”

‘Is that why she looked so upset? Because Amelia didn’t let her play with the sword? What kind of a mother will let her child play with a sword? I mean… Look at the size of that thing.’

Dane felt speechless after looking at the interaction between Amelia and Hanna.

He saw Hanna was upset since they came out of the house, and he could imagine many cases that could make Hanna upset; like missing her father. However, none of those thoughts included the possibility of her wanting to play with Amelia’s massive sword.

‘Damn, it is really great to be a child.’

Dane felt envious of Hanna.

Everyone else, including her mother, worried about the impending trouble, but not her. She just dreamed of playing with her mother’s sword.

‘I don’t feel easy at all.’

Dane felt a sense of dread as they came closer to the Spider Mines.

Jason was nowhere around, and Amelia walked all the way with them. This woman never had to walk around with guards. If she was in a hurry, she could simply disappear, leaving them all behind.

‘Is she nervous? Is that why she is taking her time?’

He noticed Amelia talking to Hanna more and more.

It was as if she was trying not to say goodbye to her daughter.

“Clang!”

Amelia suddenly stopped,  pulling out her sword.

“This is getting annoying. And I can’t even cut them down directly. They will die for real.”

Her whisper confused Dane.

‘What? Cut down who?’

He looked around in confusion.

‘This is great content. Damn. I am going to be rich. But I could have sold it for more.’

Darius looked to the sides where many more players hid among the trees.

He was another player who didn’t want to join the Crystal Pulse with all their laws and restrictions but refused to leave Light Shone and seek his fortune elsewhere. He did odd missions for the Crystal Pulse while earning a decent amount of money by playing The Endless.

The amount he earned wasn’t enough to make him rich like Jason Hope, and it wasn’t even enough for him to play The Endless full-time like the pro gamers or the players of the Crystal Pulse, who earned a steady monthly income and many other bonuses.

However, he earned a decent extra income that made his life easy.

Everyone knew that The other place wasn’t as good as Light Shone. Still, many hated the Crystal Pulse for their strict rules, tough evaluation criteria, and for their riches.

‘I don’t know what others are doing, but I can earn something as long as I stay here.’

The Crystal Pulse still had clear quests and a monetary system suitable for players. His earnings in the game were meagre, but when converted to real money, Darius had almost another salary each month.

However, he had an opportunity today.

The sudden commotion happened when the Crystal Pulse had the least number of their players in Light Shone. The holes in their defences showed how thin their numbers had stretched. Even with fewer numbers, they couldn’t take the guards from the village as it meant leaving the village NPCs vulnerable.

‘They and their morals. Well… It is still good for us. But so many are recording.’

The areas near the mines where the accident happened were guarded tightly by the remaining players and all available guards, but the roads were left alone.

“Hello, everyone. I am taking a big risk by doing this livestream. As you see, that is the armour of Jason’s guard. As you can see, their colours are different, and these are metal armour that looks heavier than the usual armour of the other soldier.”

Darius tried to act cheerful as he looked back at the busy chat of his livestream.

He also wanted this armour. He didn’t want this metal armour, just a perfect leather armour would do.

This was the first time he saw the people of the Crystal Pulse in full gear, and he couldn’t help but drool, looking at them. They had perfect matching pieces of boots, wrist guards, gloves, breastplates, and even helmets. The weapons looked almost perfect, and armour had many decorations on them.

It was more like a uniform than a simple armour. Jason’s guard even had beautiful seven-coloured capes on their backs. They matched the shining metal armours they had. However, nothing looked as advanced as Amelia’s armour.

“Well… I am not sure about Amelia’s armour. Maybe the only way to get that is by defeating her. Eh… I don’t think it will be suitable for male players.”

He tried to answer a few questions from those who made donations, but he failed to take his eyes off Amelia. The shiny armour hugged her perfect body, giving him much imagination. After playing the Endless for months, he knew this game had no restrictions when it came to s*x or clothing.

‘That lucky bastard. No wonder he is not giving up Light Shone.’

He always envied Jason, but he was almost dying of jealousy at the moment.

“Wait. She just stopped.”

He saw the guard stop the moment Amelia stopped in her tracks.

Darius was a regular player and he had yet to learn how perfect the coordination of the guards was. The moment Amelia stopped, the guard at the back communicated with the guards at the front to halt the escort without breaking the formation.

“Is she going to fight something? Why is she taking the sword?”

Darius looked around in confusion, but then saw Amelia swinging her sword in a full circle.

A gust of wind brushed past him, and he felt like needles digging into his skin. It was bearable, but a painful sensation that only lasted for a second.

“Creak!”

There was a creaking sound coming from the surrounding trees followed by a sound of breaking wood.

“My god!”

Darius screamed before jumping to the side to avoid the falling tree, but it wasn’t the only one. The surrounding trees fell one after another, and he felt like the world was coming to an end. There was no place to escape, and trees kept falling on top of each other.

“Cough. Cough!”

Darius pushed himself out of the branches and leaves, groaning in pain. He felt like his body might break, and he wasn’t sure how he survived with all the trees falling on his head.

‘Damn it, what the hell just happened?’?’

He cursed, trying to get up and see what exactly happened in the surroundings.

However, Darius felt as if all the strength in the body left him as he saw the scene in front of him. The dust settled, revealing the devastated land in the surroundings. All the trees in the surroundings had disappeared, leaving a wide open area.

He saw several other players like him, getting out of the trees. Some had blood flowing out of their bodies, and others held onto their broken limbs in pain. He even heard several weak cries for help coming from underneath the ground.

Amid the devastation, Amelia stood among the panicked and confused guards.

“Leave, insects.”

Her voice sounded like an echo from afar, and Darius felt his head vibrating to the sound.

“Wha….”

He saw the head of a player in front of him explode into a bloody mist, followed by another. A moment later, his vision turned blank after a head-splitting pain.

“Aren’t… Aren’t we supposed to capture them and imprison them?”

Dane swallowed hard, looking at the surroundings.

All trees were gone, clearing several hundred metres into the forest, and he clearly saw the surviving players dying with their heads exploding.

‘Why did I even ask something so stupid?’

He couldn’t believe the devastation brought by this alluring woman.

‘I wonder how Jason handles her.’

Only Jason could handle this woman who resembled a walking nuke.

“Well… Find them and capture them later. It is not like they are going to die for real. I made sure not to kill them off permanently. Let’s move.”

“Ah….”

Amelia’s answer left him speechless.

‘How am I supposed to find them? It is not like I am going to remember all their faces. I didn't even record.’

"It is indeed impressive. No wonder those fools from the Brodice Kingdom are terrified of you."The hooded figure removed his invisibility, stepping out of the corner with composed movements. His voice was steady and regained the cool confidence of someone who knew his worth.“And you are indeed a powerful woman, Madam Amelia. This is my first time witnessing the presence of a Peak Grandmaster. They are… extremely rare. Rarer than Grand Wizards, in fact.”Despite his previous caution, the Master Wizard now carried himself with certainty. He wasn't someone easily intimidated—and though he wouldn’t pick a fight here, his pride wouldn’t allow him to remain cowering either.“Eh! The ghost is here! The atmosphere grew heavier, the tension thickening with each breath. The envoys from the Brodice Kingdom stood their ground, their jaws clenched in barely contained frustration.Their eyes—especially those of the Grandmasters—never left Amelia. There was fear there, even if none of them dared to admit it. One step too far, and they knew she could crush them where they stood.Still, their leader stepped forward, holding a scroll with trembling fingers masked by feigned authority.“We are envoys of the Brodice Kingdom,” he declared, voice echoing with forced confidence.“I stand here on behalf of His Majesty—the absolute ruler of our lands. In his name, we extend a proposal of peace. We are willing to lift the bounty on your head... in exchange for removing the bounties you have placed on His Majesty and his subjects.”His words were rehearsed—measured—but anyone could see the nerves behind them.“No.” The room froze. The envoy blinked.“W–What?” Even the officials of Light Shone looked

‘This place… it’s really busy…’ The hooded figure observed the bustling administrative hall in silent awe. He had expected chaos—a disorganised mess of self-proclaimed rulers who were unfit to govern. But instead, what he saw was efficiency. Decisions were being made on the spot, minor issues were being resolved instantly, and orders were being swiftly relayed.Even without direct oversight, everything flowed seamlessly. The alien humans had a system, and they had something else, something his people lacked—Instant communication. He knew of it. They called it a forum or something.‘A divided authority, yet still centralised around a leader…’ His gaze flickered toward the two empty seats in the center of the hall. A symbol of true leadership. Those seated around them were not aristocrats, not nobles, but humble-looking men and women dressed in practical, simple clothing. Yet their eyes were sharp, their minds sharper. Each of them radiated competence.‘These aren’t placeholders. These

‘So, this is Light Shone.’His hidden eyes scanned the streets as he walked leisurely, moving unseen alongside the startled envoys.‘Still too small, but… this is serious potential.’He had slipped out of the carriage as the guards inspected it, effortlessly avoiding their scrutiny. While his invisibility shielded him from their eyes, he still occupied physical space—and he preferred not to take the risk of being noticed. With measured steps, he blended into the bustling streets. What he saw defied his expectations. The village was alive. It wasn’t just busy—it thrived.Shops occupied every available space, their owners negotiating prices with eager customers. People bustled past him, engaged in work yet carrying an air of contentment, their movements purposeful, their faces filled with ease. This was not the Light Shone he remembered.‘Back then, it was different.’It had been just as lively, but the stench of blood clung to the air, and signs of death lurked at every corner. "Is this... alright, My Lord?""Yes. And pretend I was never here. Once we pass through, you won’t see me again. Do you understand? No one must know I was ever here.""Yes! Yes, My Lord!""And... no one else knows I am here, correct?" The hooded figure’s voice sharpened deliberately."N-No! No, My Lord! We... we are departing soon!" The envoy stammered, his body trembling as he hastily retreated to the far corner of the carriage.‘Sigh… How useless.’The hooded man barely spared him another glance. The Brodice Kingdom had neither the power nor the will to resist the Grand Order that had been issued. It had been nearly a decade since the last decree from the Grand Wizards, and that one had shaken the world, announcing the arrival of an immortal alien.‘But this might be the first time in centuries that they had to step in to stop a minor war.’He turned his gaze to the passing scenery outside the carriage window, watching in silence. No one, aside from the envoy and a handful of high-ra
