In the tensed room, Mr Cole was lowkey wishing the drama would not end, but now that it had been paused, he had to hide his disappointment.

"Mr. Thomas" He called firmly. "Are you sure you want the seller to decide n—"

"Yes" Sam snapped. He narrowed his eyes at Alec. "He can't afford the mansion. He can't definitely pay a hundred and eighty million dollars, he's just playing a prank" He muttered to himself, and slowly, a smile bent his lips. "Ha. A prank that will get him in trouble."

"This is how you wanna play?" Sam asked loudly.

"Is this how you wanna play??" Alec asked back coolly.

"I play well, and I win, Alec. Have you forgotten that?"

Alec sat back in the leather chair. "Then the game is still on."

A few moments have passed, Mr Cole finally cleared his throat to speak.

"Gentlemen..." His voice was loud and solid. "I have spoken to the seller of the mansion..." He paused to give the two guys a long look. "And both offers have been reviewed."

Mr Cole's assistant who had entered a few minutes ago, nodded in agreement.

Sam and Alec sat up straighter.

"So!" Mr Cole was feeling good and he couldn't completely hide that. "Mr. Thomas?"

Sam readjusted his body position on the seat.

"Your parents are well known in Koach City, and even the seller expressed that" Mr Cole told him with a smile.

Sam smiled back. "Of course"

The attorney now turned his attention to Alec "And Mr Todd?"

"The loser" Sam breathed, stiffling his laugh.

"Your offer has been accepted" Mr Cole extended his hand for a handshake. "Congratulations, Mr Todd"

Sam's face darkened. "No" He pointed rudely to Alec's face as he talked to Mr. Cole "Tell me the house wasn't sold to him."

The attorney breathed in quietly. "Mr Thomas, I think...."

"No, no, no, no, no, no" He shook his head sharply.

"Mr Thomas..."

"This is bullshit" He hissed.

"You need to calm down"

"No!" He yelled in frustration. "Don't tell me to fucking calm down!"

"Jesus Christ," Mr Cole flinched. "Mr. Thomas, I understand that you are angry and—"

"No, you don't understand!" Sam vociferated. "You don't fucking understand, alright?"

Alec smirked. "You will be the one watching me sign the papers," His smirk deepened. "You need to watch and learn. See how a real man does his things" He taunted.

"I am going to kill you, you fucking son of a bitch!" Sam snarled, charging forward but was held back by Mr Cole's assistant. "I will fucking kill you!"

Alec did not flinch, or show any signs of fear. He was smiling all through, enjoying Sam's madness.

"Mark my words, Alec," He grated. "I will ruin you and everything you have!"

Mrs. Thomas, Sam's mother, was pacing the well furnished living room, a hand on her waist. She stopped and glared at her son. "Sam, this was a simple deal. A simple deal, and you couldn't close it."

"I'm sorry, mum," he apologized.

"You are sorry!?" His father boomed. "You know how important that mansion is to our business and you couldn't even get it"

"I'm sorry, dad, but a useless bastard got in my way" Sam said, scowling "He played a trick on the attorney, and he got the mansion"

Mr and Mrs Thomas exchanged glances.

"Who is he?" Mr Thomas asked.

"He is a nobody usually called Alec, but his full name is Alexander Todd."

"Alexander Todd," Mr Thomas repeated, talking like he got all the time in the world. "You are going to pay for taking what's not yours"

Sam slapped on an evil smile, his fist clenched tightly.

Alec was going to be punished for him, and he couldn't wait to see how that would go.

[MISSION TIMER]

"Time left: 6:56:10

(Six hours, fifty–six minutes and ten seconds)"

For the past few minutes, Alec had been staring at those informations the system had displayed.

"Why are you staring at the front of the car like that?" Jeremy asked, after he took a turn to the right.

"Switch it off, system" Alec finally mumbled, and the rectangular transparent screen disappeared.

"You know you have been acting weird, right?" Jeremy said glancing at him. "I mean I know you're kinda weird, but today you seem....weirder"

Alec combed his hair with his fingers. "I'm okay," He said quietly and breathed out softly "I... think"

Jeremy thinned his eyes at his friend. "What's going on with you?"

"Nothing," Alec lied, wearing a lopsided smile "Just tired and hungry"

"Oh"

Jeremy could only keep his mouth shut for a few seconds before he asked energetically. "What about the dramas that happened today? Can't believe I missed them all"

"I already told you about the one with Sam"

"Yeah. The guy is just a sore loser. Fucking little dick" Jeremy cursed, his tone hard on each word. "But damn, you paid a hundred and eighty million dollars for a mansion? You are THE MAN. You hear me?" He demonstrated with a hand and drove with the other. "THE. MAN"

Alec smile a little. "I am still Alec," He looked out the window. "But not just the Alec they used to know."

Jeremy paused for a second. "You're great, man. Great!" He was still in the playful mood and does not understand the power in Alec's words. "So what happened after the mansion drama?"

"Nothing" Alec replied flatly.

"Nothing?" He gave him a side eye "Like nothing at all?"

"Nothing" Alec repeated.

Jeremy groaned. "Boring"

Alec shrugged. "I have been doing other things online. You know bought a couple of paintings online, paid the interior designer, bought some necklace, chains and other fashion stuffs, all online" He explained.

"Damn, Alec, that's a lot"

It was truly a lot for Alec, but he was confused if he should be joyous he got all of those things with his money, or if he should be sad about not completing the mission when he's got just six hours left.

He grabbed his phone and started tapping on it.

"When you use your phone like that, my heart races" Jeremy said, the side of his eye on Alec.

"Jeremy, you play too much" Alec said, his tone sluggish, though there was a small smile on his face.

"I am serious," Jeremy said, taking a quick glance to see how Alec operates his phone. "The way you tap on that phone makes me feel like you're about to buy me next"

Alec chuckled, but he quickly turned serious as he stared at the figures displayed on the screen of his phone, then he looked away.

Six hours.

Six hours is all he has left to complete the mission.

Sky Home Restaurant was another luxurious restaurant in Koach City, and Jeremy and Alec were having their lunch there, right in the VIP area.

"You have only been choosing really expensive places recently, and it's just crazy if you ask me" Jeremy said as they took their seats.

There were employees staring weirdly at Alec but he looked like he didn't care about that. He was hungry and he wanted to eat, then go back to thinking about how to spend his money.

The stares wouldn't stop, and it turned into little whispers, certainly about Alec's appearance.

"I'm sure they let him in only because of his wealthy friend" A lady whispered to the other one as they walked around the area like they were actually doing their jobs.

"Can y'all stop acting like little fucking gossips?" Jeremy spoke out, annoyed.

They all pretended to be focused on something else, but they still couldn't help but take their eyes back to Alec.

"You know what? Go fuck yourselves!" Jeremy snapped.

"And if they don't?" A guy asked, standing arrogantly near their table.

"Chad?" Alec and Jeremy chorused.

He spread his arms. "In the flesh"

It's been a few hours since Chad and his minions left, and they had not appeared in the restaurant. "Are you sure he's still gonna come back?" Jeremy asked Alec eagerly. Alec raised his head and stared into space, just as he was about to say something, Chad and his guys strolled in haughtily. "Oh, God" Jeremy whispered. "They are back!" Chad marched straight to Alec's table and stood in front of him like a man ready for war, his minions as expected, emulated him. "I am back" He announced arrogantly. "Chad Williams," Alec called out loudly, rising dilatorily from his seat. "What are you doing here?" "What am I doing here?" He pointed to his own chest. "Or I should be asking what you are still doing here?" "I am having lunch." He waved his hands over the table. "You know," Chad took a threatening step forward "You're actually bolder than I thought." "So are you," Alec shot back, his voice deep, his tone menacingly slow. "You really came back" "Yeah, I came back" "Welcome bac

Chad stood with arms folded across his chest like he owned the whole space, and his minions were there, standing behind him, idiotically copying his action. "Surprised to see me?" He smiled slyly. "Of course you are." "Yeah, I am" Alec responded casually. "'Cause last I checked you were thrown out a store for acting like an annoying little prick" Jeremy laughed loudly on purpose. "How dare you" Chad growled at Alec, leaning forward, his nose flaring, his hand grabbing the front of Alec's shirt. "You little piece of shit".Alec smiled at his reaction. "I was just talking about what happened, and I had thought you would disappear, but here you are, dragging my shirt like some pained asshole.""Shut up, poor brat. You know I don't stay gone for long." Some people in the restaurant saw what Chad was doing, but they chose to ignore that because it was Chad, the 'rich guy', rough handling Alec, the 'poor guy', and they didn't care about that 'poor guy'. "So, what do you want now?" Al

Thirty five million. The money rang in Alec's head, his eyes still glued to the phone's screen. "So?" Linda toyed with her hair, an evil grin playing on her lips. "You still wanna play?" Alec did not reply. "Listen, Alec, this is a game for the wealthy ones only, but I am allowing you to be a part of it, so you should count yourself lucky" Sam added. Alec's eyes flashed to him. "A game." "Yes. A game," A leer crept up his face. "Or are you scared now? You want the game off?" "No..." Alec's eyes went back to the mansion listing, then back at Sam's over confident face. His jaw tightened. "The game is on, Sam""Good. Good" Sam's evil laughter echoed in Alec's ears. "And you should know that you're lucky I was not in the mood to beat your ass up the other time" "Yeah, tell him" Linda said in her irritating tiny voice. Alec stood straight, his eyes dead serious, "No, Sam," He said, remembering how he should be careful with his new found powers. "You are lucky I don't wanna beat yo

Alec glanced back and saw the object being smashed on the wall. He frowned. It was an egg. Another one came immediately and with his quick reflexes, Alec could see the object coming. For a second, it was in a slow motion. "Damn" He quickly stepped away before it could hit him on the head. He looked at the egg now broken on the floor. "what the fuck?" He cursed in a whisper. "Good morning, trash boy" A voice greeted tauntingly. Alec looked up, and just in front of his house, standing proudly near a Rolls Royce, with eggs in hands, were Sam and his girlfriend.Alec groaned in annoyance when he saw them. "What the hell are they doing here?" He asked no one in particular. "Told you that it's not over, didn't I?" Sam shouted, smirking. "Well, I meant every word." Sam had been furious about what had happened at the restaurant last night and wasn't ready to let it slide. Today, he had a lot prepared, just to get back at the poor boy who humiliated him. Linda had dropped the eggs

Linda narrowed her eyes at her boyfriend but didn't say a word. She didn't even know what to say, all she could think about was what Sam would need a cheap wine for. Soon, the waiter arrived with the wine, and for a second, Sam's eyes lit up. "Now..." He pointed to Alec's table, his eyes now hardened again. "You're gonna send it to that table""That...table??" The waiter asked carefully. "Yes. Alec's table." Sam confirmed firmly. "Tell him it's from Sam Thomas, and tell the poor little dick over there that 'this is not over'" The waiter blinked, his feet not moving an inch. "Tell him Sam Thomas said 'this is not fucking over'," He said again with a raspier tone. "He'll understand." The waiter hesitated but eventually went to the table to deliver the wine...and the message. "From Mr. Thomas over there" The waiter said sluggishly, feeling awkward. "He said....that..." He swallowed "That this is not over" Alec arched his brows. "I see" He stared at the wine, then clicked his tong
