KARNA: Son of the Charioteer
Karna is the son of Kunti and Surya, the sun god, and the eldest brother of the five Pandava in the Mahabharata story.
He is regarded as a greater warrior than Arjuna. However, he was abandoned and lived as the son of a charioteer. Despite starting with nothing and facing rejection, through his perseverance, he rose to become one of the main characters in the Mahabharata story. He obtained his own kingdom and sided with Duryodhana.
His life journey from being of low social status, demeaned, and humiliated to becoming a renowned king known for his kindness, even refraining from killing his own brothers in the midst of war, is a tragic and legendary tale.
