"I never wanted to leave." His words came out as a plea, filled with emotion. Maya shook her head, with a cold tone. "You didn't just leave, Logan. You disappeared." Logan stepped closer, narrowing his eyes. "You think I abandoned you? It was your family, Maya. They forced me out. I fought my way back for you only to find you married to someone else." Her voice wavered as she whispered, "You have no right to come back and disrupt my life now. Richard is my husband." Logan's voice dropped to a low, intense whisper. "Is he my son?" Maya’s silence told him everything. Five years ago, Logan Hayes was forced out of Maya Dawson’s life, pressured by her powerful family into walking away from their marriage. Once a struggling dock worker and the illegitimate son of the Carlton family, Logan left without a word, leaving Maya heartbroken and convinced he had abandoned her.
