A Maggot [1]

Raymond was only waiting a few months until his 14th birthday. His family held a small celebration with his friends and some close neighbors. He was happy about it and enjoyed his birthday, as it only comes once a year.

He truly loves this life. It was as if his wishes from the past were now fulfilled. Well, indeed, this life was already fulfilled since his family and friends were around him.

He was never hungry for love. He was full of it and received much more than he wanted. But there was still one thing that he was happy about. This year, his stairs would be formed.

He was afraid and angry because his memories showed that this family was trampled by someone who had a position in the village. However, as he had come prepared, he was dedicated to taking revenge, or it would be appropriate to call it a play.

Revenge would not be funny if the other party didn't know their mistakes. And so, it would be a play since it was fated that their family was already corrupted.

He didn't hate them; he was only angry because of the memory. But even still, it was only a memory, and the flow of events could be changed. He didn't care.

This person trampled on his sister's dignity, and even though there was a possibility that it could be fixed easily, it was too late.

Rebecca had a stalker that started when Raymond was 10 years old. Raymond only learned it from his memories when he was 14 years old. But now that he already knew it before the event of revelation, nothing could be too amusing if he made his first move.

But he should wait. Patiently, he waited for this person to make a wrong move.

Raymond was alone in his room, meditating. He was feeling the mana and doing the routine he always did. Embrace them and absorb them. Even if it was only a small portion as his talent wasn't still available, doing nothing was the most regrettable thing.

Raymond never forgets his physical training. Apart from MP raising training, he also practices his forms. His father would teach him a few tricks for dodging monsters' attacks. And later on, he caught up with the hunters, who were 2 years older than him.

"Wow... you son is really talented, Senior Rudy." One junior of Raymond's father praised Raymond.

Rudy had a smug face as he faced this junior of his.

"Of course, he is a genius that came after me."

After using the special practice venue, they would train in the basic practice venue. Even though it was risky, his mother permitted it since she already knew how dependable Raymond was.

He was also responsible. She already felt that Raymond was starting to mature since the day that he started fetching water for them.

As a result, she allowed them to practice at the basic venue.

The monsters in this venue were pure monsters. They were captured and hid inside a part of the village to reproduce. And later on, they would use this venue to train their hunters. But as it was called a "practice venue," the monsters present weren't that gravely dangerous since everyone uses the venue to practice.

"But may I ask, Senior Rudy, why did you let your son practice here? It is dangerous, right?"

Rudy awkwardly scratched his nape as he answered the question.

"Well, my son here asked for it. He wanted to face a real challenge to become a stronger person. I was even having second thoughts before and was doubtful because he was still unawakened. But knowing how dependable he has been since he was born, I let him."

It was only a subjective sentiment of Rudy's; the reason why he let Raymond practice in such a dangerous place wasn't that acceptable to others. But since Raymond had already showcased his talents in front of other hunters, they believed what Rudy said.

"Uhm... Father, I would go to that part of the forest. Can I?" Raymond asked as he pointed in a direction.

"Yeah, sure. Just use the emergency button if you encounter any dangerous monsters." Rudy noted.

Raymond nodded and left them instantly. He still had his sword and he decided to become a close-quarter fighter since it was more convenient for him. Even others would tell him to become one.

Without any other interest, Raymond had been holding a sword for about a year now.

"Grahhh..."

Raymond heard the cry of a monster from afar. He then prepared himself to attack. After the monster dashed in his direction, Raymond performed an attack with the variable presented to him.

The monster was common, a huge boar. It was only for level one inside the special practice venue, but outside it was level two as it had good agility.

It could dodge, but since Raymond had already learned its patterns, he could easily kill it with a few slashes.

Raymond's clothing was splattered with blood. After a few hours of hunting, his clothes were so wet with blood that he got his clothes so red.

"Raymond, what happened to you? It looked like you were bathing in a pool of blood." A senior of his made a remark.

Raymond only snickered, then nodded. "Indeed, I bathed in a pool of blood. I killed 3 monsters, but since they were heavy, I only left them with marks. Please help me to take care of it."

"Oh sure!"

They were about to go back to where Raymond left the corpses, but before they could, Raymond was called by his father.

"What is it, father?" He approached his father after asking for a short time from his senior.

"It is about your sister." His father started talking in a low tone. Just by hearing it, Raymond already had an idea of what it was, and as he anticipated, his eyes were secretly flickering.

"What about sister Rebecca, father?" Raymond asked.

Rudy let out a sigh and said, "She had some arguments with the son of the squad commander of the special unit. Apparently, in their arguments, it was said that your sister slapped and kicked the senior's son's eggs."

Raymond almost scoffed, but he suppressed it and faced his father with a serious face instead.

"Father... we should probably go now. I think it is better if you ask for leave. Even if it is only a practice venue, the time of your job is still important."

"Yes... go home first. I will ask for the leader to give me leave for this day."

"Yes, father. I will be going."

As Raymond left his father, his system was already chuckling in delight.

"What a stupid, moronic maggot he is..." A grin just emerged on Raymond's lips.
