Davies had restrained from negative thoughts that day. He was resting his back on the couch when he heard a knock on the door. He wasn’t expecting any other people apart from Magdalene and Alfred, who had left for the hospital in the morning. He gathered a ray of hope that Magdalene and Alfred had returned home.

To his greatest surprise, it was Liam. He grimaced, closed the door and they walked in the direction of the settees. Davies asked Liam what he would like to take, but Liam refused. Liam told Davies that he wasn’t famished. Davies pleaded with Liam to take cold water and Liam acceded to that wholeheartedly.

Davies stood up from the settee and returned, holding a mug. He handed over the mug to Liam. Liam thanked him and emptied the mug before the twinkle of an eye.
