Turns out Aubrey hadn't been joking when she said hard work, and sadly for Con she hadn't meant it the way he had hoped she meant it either. Soft music poured out of hidden speakers, and waiters milled around catering to the needs of the populace. The clinking of champagne flutes and the chatter of high end aristocrats poured into Con's ears and he groaned at the fact that he could hear everything so loudly.This party wasn't turning out the way he expected.Jane hadn't really filled him in on the details of the party and he hadn't really bothered to ask.That had been a mistake.This wasn't a party at all. In a room up in the Grand Oak hotel.Three men sat gathered around a table.Two had their phones in hand and they were lazily scrolling through, while the third had his eyes on someone else. For the next five minutes of his life, Con watched a beautiful woman cry.She lay her head on his chest as they continued with the slow dance. So it seemed attending the party had not been a total waste of time.Jane was ecstatic and offered to drive Con home, but Con had refused and simply told her to drive home safely. Jake and his men could have some more ideas and try to pull some stunts even after what they had done in the hall.Con didn't want Lana getting in the middle of it.He had revenge in his heart now, he had a lot of hate and a lot of anger, enough to burn the world ten times over.He wouldn't be doing anything to the world for now though, he would just lessen the population by a measly three people.If anything the world would be thankful that he decided to get rid of scum trash like Jake Caswell and his friends.Xavier's Cadillac still stood parked in the parking lot and Con found the other man asleep at the steering wheel. Con could barely remember getting into bed.He could barely remember getting out of the car even.
