Chapter 1
"Here he comes." Someone said, staring at the young man who was walking towards the Director's office. "Poor guy." A lady added, complementing what the first guy had said. The young man who was being referred to could hear what his colleagues were saying about him, but he didn't care much. His name is Statham Jaai. And he's the acclaimed workaholic of the Hay and Dee Firm. Jaai was of the opinion that, if working his ass off to make some decent money could be used as a topic of ridicule, then he didn't know what to think of people. After all, he was working hard because of a day like this! After all, today was a good day, he shouldn't let bad energies ruin his mood. Jaai walked straight to the Director's office and knocked. "Come in." A feminine voice called from inside. Jaai hesitated for a moment, but then pushed the door open. Why's the Director not on seat today? Wasn't he supposed to pay our salaries today? Jaai thought but the thoughts faded away soon. There was a beauti

"Did you miss your way?" A sudden hoarse voice knocked Jaai out of his thoughts. Ever since he stepped out of the cab, his gaze has been glued to the blue car that was parked on the other side of the road. The car looked familiar, but he wasn't sure what to think. Now that he has been interrupted, he could focus on why he had come here. "Is the director home?" Jaai went straight to the point. He could see the condescending look in the eyes of the gate man. That was not his business. It wasn't his fault that some people don't understand what basic manner means!"Even if he is home, he surely does not want to see you." The gate man argued. "You either open the door or we make a scene here. The choice is yours." Jaai was very resolute as he staked his claim. The gate man was surprised to see him act like this. Jaai was usually an easygoing man. The fact that he was acting like this must mean that something is wrong. The gate man thought for a moment. His boss didn't tell him anyth

When he opened his eyes again, he did it gently, moving his head to the other side to avoid repeating the old mistake. There was a white wall a distance away from where he was. Slowly, his bra

""Jaai!!!"" Everyone exclaimed as Jaai walked. The director still felt glued to the spot after stepping out of the way for Jaai. Jada was in utmost shock as she stared at Jaai. It would seem as though the whole world had turned into a soft ball that continously spin around her head. '"What's happening? How's he here?"" Marcus was as stupefied as the rest of the family. ""Didn't you say that he slumped into coma? How can he be here?"" Gerard took his turn. ""Talk to me, Jada! What's happening here? Did you lie to me?!!!"" Elaine was about to lose her mind. If there was anything that Elaine loathed the most. It was being made a fool of. She could go to the extent of skinning anyone alive. And now to think that her daughter would do that to her, supported by the director? Elaine didn't know what to think. ""Never mother. I s-swear on my life. I d-didn't lie to you."" Jada stuttered, still feeling the spin in her head. There were too many things to process for her. The thought of

""You are ---""Suddenly the screeching sound of a car was heard outside the villa. In no time, a man and two ladies ran in. ""Mr Jaai. Mr Jaai!"" The man called as he pushed the door open. It was the doctor from the hospital, and two nurses. Jada was caught in the web of shock and anxiety. She didn't know what to do or what to say. She was grateful that the doctor had just barged in. This is a valuable distraction. With this little time, she would be able to think of what to say. "Who are you please?" Elaine asked, angered that some strangers had not just interrupted her, but had the guts to barge into her house!"Sorry, Mrs. Hullevard. I am Doctor Collins. Earlier today, we got a patient who fell from the staircase and lost his consciousness." The doctor took a break as he tried to catch his breath. Elaine's face softened a little bit. The anger started to wither away, and was slowly replaced by curiosity. After all, she had been looking for a way to understand how Jaai was sta

[Chime! System acclimatization resumes.][Militation registered! Host's brain shutting down due to immense pressure.][Repairing! Host slipping into a Rest mode.]""Jaai!"" Jada exclaimed and rushed to him. The doctor and his nurses got to Jaai first and helped him from hitting the floor again. Perhaps if he did, it could cause him even more damage. ""We'll take him with us right away."" The doctor concluded, pulling Jaai up to his feet. It wasn't as though he was waiting for the endorsement of Elaine. He had already concluded. He couldn't imagine why Elaine would want to stop him from taking Jaai away to the hospital. The doctor was assisted by the nurses and they drag-walked Jaai out of the foyer. ""Jaai!!!"" Jada ran after them.Marcus quickly ran and stood in her way. ""Where are you going?"" He asked, looking quite serious. ""What do you mean? My husband just slumped. Shouldn't I be beside him?"" She was at the verge of tears as she said these words. ""What are you? A doc

To Jaai, it felt like he was held up in a sort of simulation. This cannot be real. By the degree of beauty's measure, Jaai could swear on everything he held dearly that he had never seen anyone as beautiful as the lady standing next to the virtual screen. He started to blink his eyes. Vigorously. He wanted to be certain that he was in his right mind. No matter how hard he blinked his eyes, the lady never left. Nor vanished into thin air. Jaai jumped off his bed and walked to the lady. He stood right in front of her. He shut his eyes for a moment as he swallowed a lump. He knew he was 27, but he was acting as though he had just turned 19 last month. He slowly reached out his hand towards the lady. He kept on pushing his hand forward until his finger hovered over the back of her hand. Looking at her hand, her skin looked supple and soft. It looked like the skin of a newborn baby. Her eyes were dreamy and her face was so cute that Jaai almost started blushing. Jaai finally made t

The grand hall of the Hullevard family was bustling with people. Today was the birthday party of the patriach of the family. Everyone was present. The children, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grand children, grand sons-in-law, grand daughters-in-law, great grand children and many more. The patriach, Chairman Hullevard had three sons and one daughter. The daughter is the eldest, but she was accorded the least respect because of her marital life. She married late amongst all the children of the patriach, so technically, the children of her siblings were pretty much older than her children. Also, the rumors and controversies surrounding the death of her husband was enough to ostracized her family from the extended family. Well, today wasn't the day for establishing differences. It was the day when all the family members got along. It was the great day to celebrate the old man. All hands must be on deck. The large door of the hall opened all of a sudden and all the ch

As soon as he whistled, the door flung open, and five henchmen came running into the hall. Four of the men were carrying a long black box. Each man holding each end of the black box. The fifth man was leading the way. He was making sure that there was no obstruction as the other four ventured through the aisle. The leader of the henchmen walked straight to Baron and Wirtz. He bowed to them, and the four took suit. "Why are you stopping here? Move along." Wirtz snapped at the men. The men quickly picked up themselves and headed straight to the patriarch. "I'll leave my son to do the honor of presenting this gift to you, father." Wirtz said with a full smile, placing his palm on his chest as he bowed. Then he took his seat. All eyes were on Baron and the five men. There were murmurs flying around. "His family loves to make a big show. What the hell." The son of the caregiver grunted as he watched. His wife, a young petite lady, held his hand to help calm his nerves. He took a gl

"I'll just ask the grandson of the Colonel. The kid is an instructor of any culturally influenced instrument." The old man said. Then, a cough. The old man slowly looked back to Baron. "You've done well, Wirtz Jr. Your father should be proud of you." Following the praise of the old man, Baron felt like a horse was riding within him. He felt on top of the world. There was no doubt. His family will definitely get the favor of the old man. He could walk back to his family with his head in the sky. His father met him with a big smile. There was no limit to chivalry and planning. "I'm very proud of you. Today can't get any better." Wirtz playfully pat Baron on the shoulder. "In fact, I forgive your mother."While they revel in the moment, an activity ensued across the aisle.A certain smell swelled across the hall, influencing the air with something somewhat foul and pleasant at the same time. "What's that smell?""It smells very different. Ancient, you would say?"Archie rose to his
