Chapter 4

"But when are you going to confirm me?" asked Viona, confirming the decision made by Mauver. The man did not immediately respond. He was silent and looked like he was thinking.

"Mauver! Answer my question!" Viona began to get impatient. Mauver threw his gaze at the girl, staring into her eyes meaningfully.

"No, don't try to reread my mind! " Viona turned her back, thinking that Mauver wouldn't be able to read her mind.

The man got up from his place, slowly walking towards where Viona was now. He was sitting next to the girl who was still turning her face away from him.

"Even if you hide your face, I can still read your mind, Viona. Now listen to me ...." Mauver emphasized his words. Slowly the girl turned her body back towards Mauver.

"You know. If you don't get into a union with me tonight, your life is in danger?" asked Mauver to ensure the girl knew the procedure and purpose of the union between pure blood and blue blood.

The girl nodded, looking back at her face. She didn't dare to imagine what the process of unification would be like. She was afraid that Mauver could read her mind and thought she was a perverted girl or something.

However, of course, hearing the word union, something else is imagined in her mind. Even before Viona thought about it, Mauver could already read it. And He smiled amusedly.

"What are you laughing at?" asked Viona, sputtering. Her feelings were terrible, already suspected that the man must have reread her mind. Mauver patted Viona's forehead.

"What are you thinking, huh?" Mauver asked back as he flashed a smile in the corner of his lips.

The man got up while shaking his head, wondering what was inside the girl's head and attitude.

"What a scum!" he quipped, making the girl's cheeks blush. He then returned to his desk, staring at the girl without blinking.

"Stop it! I can't accept that you're bullying me like this. You always read my mind at will. I'm not too fond of it. Go get another pure-blood; I quit!" The girl got up and came out of the room, stomping and slamming the door.

She wanted to show that she was angry and upset by Mauver's attitude.

Seeing what Viona was doing, Mauver got panicked. In his entire life till today, he never once faced an angry girl. It's the first time he's dealt with a woman.

"It's dizzying," he muttered, then moved on and chased after Viona, who might have gone a long way.

He won't let the girl go far; it will be hazardous for her. Dark blood had already targeted her, so if Mauver were rash and caught off guard just a little, Viona would be in danger.

He must find the girl at all costs.

Viona walked quickly and was still upset. She didn't expect Mauver to pursue her. Truly. She wanted to leave because she did not accept the attitude of the man who always laughed at her from the beginning.

Please don't ask, isn't she afraid she meets dark blood? Of course, the answer is yes. However, being continuous next to Mauver thought was more frightening. Also sickening.

"Who the hell does he think he is so he could always read my mind and laugh at me? Am I a clown, huh?!" she grumbled? She doesn't know how far she's walking.

The atmosphere was still crowded; therefore, she was not afraid to walk alone without anyone's accompaniment.

"You've never felt like you can't do pure-blood union, have you? So feel it!" she said again, still talking to herself.

Not long after, she accidentally hit someone who she suspected had a tall body and ... giant. Yes, it is enormous, so Viona felt pain in the forehead and front body when she hit that person.

She did not dare to look up, said sorry quietly, then continued the step. However, the figure turned around and confronted her again.

"What do you want?" asked Viona, who began to have a bad feeling. The figure slowly took off his hood and revealed a natural face that made Viona feel an incredible horror.

Viona screamed, rising from a long likely sleep. Her heart was pounding; cold sweat drenched her forehead and clothes. She opened her eyes, slowly turning to the right and left. She was in her room at the Mauver residence.

How's that possible? It felt so real. She was with Mauver at his workplace; then, because of the dispute, she left, and ... She shuddered in horror at the memory of the incident.

"What's going on? Why isn't Mauver beside me? Am I in another dimension?" muttered Viona quietly.

Slowly the girl got out of bed. There was a fear of sneaking into the corner of his heart. What if she met the creature while out of the room?

Why does she dream the same thing over and over again? And a lot of questions in the mind that need answers.

She dared to open the door of the room. I accidentally captured the shadow of Mauver standing not far from her room. What is he doing?

Viona greeted the man, but there was no answer at all. However, the figure approached slowly at her.

Fear instantly attacked her mind, seeing a figure similar to what she saw this afternoon. She ran through the hallway on the second floor to get down the stairs and look for anyone who could help her.

But it was a mistake.

Why didn't she go into Mauver's room? Just running for help is useless.

That figure was chasing her more and more. She ran and tripped over something she didn't know. The girl fell. However, she got up and ran again.

The hallway, which was not so long, suddenly felt very long. She didn't know how far she had run. Her breathing was getting worse.

She stopped for a while, breathing as much oxygen as possible. Her eyes were glazed; she wanted to cry. She didn't think her presence here would endanger her life.

She had never heard of it before, and the human race had to suffer so much to become a pure-blood. From the stories that circulated, the inaugural only just went away.

While she is? If she asked who was wrong about all this, the answer was herself.

She realized she was at the end of the stairs. It was going down, but something hit it first. The girl's body jumped and floated once again. Then she fell and fell down the stairs.

'I will surely die this time,' she said.

"Viona!" Viona heard the voice of Mauver, who called her name repeatedly. What else has happened to her?

She opened her eyes slowly. Her head felt divided; she couldn't even move her limbs.

"W-where am I?" asked Viona, instantly looking at Mauver, who was trying to lift her body. Slowly and quickly, the sturdy body lifted Viona, who was so weak, brought her to the room, and laid the girl down.

"What's going on?" the girl asked again after Mauver laid the girl's body into bed.

"I should have asked," Mauver said annoyedly. He didn't manage to do the inaugural to the girl because of her stubborn nature; he just went and made the man take pains to find her. It was also in an unconscious state.

"I ... ah...!" Viona held her aching head. Of course, she was thrown and fell down that high ladder. And what did Mauver do?

Why didn't he save Viona even though the girl was in danger?

"You asked me not to read your mind; I did. And see what happens?" attacked Mauver. Viona looks sorry.

"I'm so sorry ...," she said barely audibly. However, Mauver didn't need a loud voice to hear whatever the girl said.

"And that stubbornness made that confirmation not happen, and you know the consequences, don't you?!" Mauver pointed to Viona, who was now lying weak with her whole body in pain.

The girl was holding back all the crushing pain in her body. She wanted to say something else to Mauver, but the man got back in the way.

"Uhm-hmm ... no need to apologize. Just enjoy the results of your attitude." Mauver doesn't seem to care what Viona goes through. He was apprehensive about the girl. From what he had heard, what the girl had experienced had never happened to any other pure-blood.

Is it because of Mauver? Or is it because Viona is interested in disturbing the calmness of the dark blood?
