The Third Task

After the chaos, Ernest returned to the room where he worked. His father stood staring at him blankly.

"Daddy, what's wrong? Why look at me like that?" asked Ernest, raising his eyebrows confused.

"Is everything all right? You have to be careful with men like that, Ernest! They can destroy you at any time, you have to do something," the father reminded him.

"Dad, everything will be okay. The man is gone. I threatened him if he wanted to do something strange. Don't worry! Do you want to eat?" said Ernest trying to calm his father down.

To be honest, in Ernest's heart, he was really half dead upset with that guy. How could he humiliate himself in public like this? Ernest wanted to punch him in the face. However, he had to refrain from maintaining his restaurant image.

— The Game of Death —

Ernest locked down a restaurant that's closed now. He's really tired today. The restaurant is fortunately still crowded despite being mistreated by a crazy vlogger.

After checking everything in good condition, Ernest went straight into his car. However, notification of incoming messages from his phone immediately shifted his focus. He immediately called his cell phone and read the message.

From Jeremy.

Third assignment.

Kill the vlogger troubleshooter. And replace frogs with vlogger meat.

Ernest turned his eyes after reading the message. His hands are shaking because he doesn't believe what Jeremy told him.

"No, this is crazy! I can't kill someone as much as I hate him," Ernest said, refusing his assignment.

Ernest shook his head and called Jeremy. He wanted to reject this assignment and replace it with another. Soon the baritone's voice was heard picking up the phone from Ernest.

"Hello, is there anything you want to ask, Ernest?" Jeremy asked from across there.

"Can I not kill him?" Ernest responded immediately to Jeremy's silence. Soon the call was cut off immediately.

Ernest rushed to call back. However, Jeremy did not pick up.

"Shit!" said Ernest.

Ernest immediately got in the car and went straight to Lily Street No. Eight where they met for the first time.

While on the way, Ernest stopped playing his fingers. He really felt very worried that something would happen after this.

"Please, don't do anything!" pleaded Ernest.

After a few minutes, Ernest arrived and ran into an empty building when Ernest found Jeremy.

"Jeremy, I'll do it! Please don't do anything bad to me!" cried Ernest.

He's trying to find Jeremy. However, it seems that the building is deserted and uninhabited. Ernest is really frustrated right now. He's trying to call back Jeremy. But the answer is nothing. There's only an operator's voice saying that the number he's calling is off.

"Arghhhh!" Ernest shouted in frustration.

Kill the vlogger? How does he know where the vlogger is? How can he kill her even if she doesn't know where the vlogger lives? Shit, why is this job harder than ever? It's better for him to eat frogs than to kill humans like this.

Ting!

The message notification on his cell phone immediately dawned on frustrated Ernest. A message immediately turned Ernest's fear - stricken face into a shock.

From Jeremy.

Do it, don't forget to taste the food! This time it's a triple increase from 1500 dollars. Think carefully and never argue with my duties. Go home, your father's after your money!

Ernest remembered that he did not deposit the money into the bank and kept it neatly in the safe of his new home. Ernest rushed out and immediately went to St. Iceland Road No.3 where the new house is now.

All the way, Ernest could only bite his nails. His fear of Jeremy soon disappeared and immediately concentrated on the money. Tch, he's not a hypocrite. Money is more important than anything else.

15 minutes later....

Ernest reached the elite housing estate where his home was. He also parked his car in the garage well and ran to the house immediately. The only place he went directly was his room. And that's right, there's a father squatting with a screwdriver in his hand. He was about to unload the safe and get the money.

"What are you doing?" Ernest asked, immediately stopping Lewis, who was trying hard to dismantle the safe.

"Ah.. Ernest, that's not what you see. Dad just--" Ernest immediately cut off his father's words.

"What else should I give you, Dad? I work here. Give you rations every day, what do you need? How much do you need? Can you quit your habit of stealing? You disappoint me again!" said Ernest emotionally.

"Enest, it's not what you think. I just want to know what you're hiding there. I didn't mean to take the money, I didn't know there was your money. I thought you'd keep it in the bank," he replied trying to persuade Ernest.

"You think I'm gonna believe you? Come here, dad!" Dragged Ernest, but his father held back.

Ernest turned around and Lewis hit his head with that screwdriver. His eyes looked at the father who was completely freaked out after hitting him.

"Enest, wake up Ernest! God, what am I doing?! " Lewis asked frantically. Ernest finally fell unconscious afterwards.

— The Game of Death —

The sound of a heartbeat machine filled the room. Lewis looked at Ernest, who was awake. His head was bandaged, he also used oxygen on his nose. Lewis was crying in front of Ernest.

"Why did I do it? I was wrong, I was crazy. I don't know why I'm bad at you. I'm sorry, Ernest!" Lewis said holding Ernest's arm.

Suddenly, when he cried like that. The doctor went into the room. Lewis immediately wiped his tears and looked at the doctor who approached him.

"Sir, what happened to my son?" Lewis asked anxiously.

"Let's talk about this in my room. The X-ray results have come out," asked the doctor who got compensation from Lewis.

They came out of Ernest's room and headed to the doctor's room. On arrival, Lewis sat before the doctor. The doctor also showed a picture of Ernest's head on his computer.

"On this side, there's a hard hit of elongated objects. Like screwdrivers, crowbars and such. Fortunately, it's not too loud and only makes Ernest have a slight concussion. I hope you're more careful with yourself. If you feel anything strange, you can consult your psychologist. Even a psychiatrist. Because, this will be a psychiatrist. It's a big problem between you two. And Ernest will definitely continue to be a victim of father violence. Lucky that night only you know, if it's not clear the police can arrest you with charges of abuse," explained the doctor to Lewis.

"Indeed, what happened to me, sir? I don't think I can control my emotions," Lewis asked confusedly.

"You seem to have a mental disorder. I can't check it because it's not my specialty and my job. I strongly recommend that you see psychologists and psychiatrists to do further therapy and treatment. This mental disorder not only harms Ernest, but also harms you," said the Doctor.

Lewis nodded, looking back at Ernest's head's X-rays. What he did last night to Ernest was totally outrageous. What's wrong with him?

"All right, then I'll go back to Ernest's room, sir! Thank you for your advice and explanation. I'll find psychologists and psychiatrists then, I'll say thank you very much!" said Lewis, who nodded by the Doctor.

Lewis walked out of the room. He's also walking towards the roof of this hospital building. He's not going back to Ernest's room again. He wanted to calm himself for a moment from the burning emotion in his heart. It calms down for a moment his mind constantly asking why he did everything.

When he went upstairs, Lewis saw a skyscraper next to him. He also breathed a long sigh. It feels fresh and relieved to be on this roof.

"Since when did all this happen? Why didn't I ever realize it and remember it? Why did I go crazy like this?" Lewis asked himself.

Again and again he breathed a loud sigh. He's confused himself that has now turned out not to be what he used to be. What happened?

"If you're still here, Liana. I want to tell you how proud I am of Ernest. He's great, he's strong. He's not like me. I've never been happy in my life. I've always hurt you, Liana. I'm sorry. I can't prove my promise until you're right. I'm just an asshole. No one in this world deserves to die if o.Lewis said to himself, "The cage is like you, Liana."

Tears came out of her cheeks. He missed his wife who had been with him so long that he had such a great son as Ernest. Lewis hates himself considering what he did back then.

In the past, he even fought so hard for Liana. No one can match him until Liana finally beats him. But, after getting it. He let her down and hurt her. Lewis wants to turn the clock. Where she and Liana were happy together without any injuries to each other. But is time capable of repeating itself? It's all for nothing. His world is completely destroyed.
