Billionaire for revenge

Jason sat on the floor with his two eyes closed as he fought back the tears that threaten to drop. He was clueless as to the next action to take.

One side of him wanted her to go and be happy; after all, he never gave her the genuine happiness she has always desired. A different side of him wanted to run to her, embrace her, kiss her, and try to explain to her in hopes that she would understand and come back to him. He finally opened his eyes and looked at the screen; she was no where to be found, just a few guests still drinking and mingling happily.

"No, no, I must get her back. Jenny loves me; she would come back to me," Jason rose up from the floor, where he had been sitting all this while.

Without dusting the dirt that appeared on his trouser, he sprinted to the hall in desperate attempt to find his girl; at least he deserves to know her reason for doing this to him.

Jenny was nowhere to be found, and Jason became scared that they might have left the building, as he couldn't find the car any longer. Not knowing what he was doing, he started running to different doors. Jason had just checked the fourth door and has decided to give up on checking the fifth door.

He has been able to convince himself that they are no longer in the building and was about to leave, but took one last look at the door entrance. Suddenly he found her, standing alone like she was waiting for someone. She kept on looking at the ring on her left finger, smiling extremely. She looked very happy, and he had to admit that he had never seen her this happy before.

"Maybe I should just leave her; she deserves to be happy, and I can't make her happy," Jason whispered to himself. He didn't know when the first drop of tears poured out freely from his eyes.

Jason made up his mind to leave; she deserves to be happy after all, and he couldn't give her the happiness she wanted. People around him suddenly noticed him and began giving him strange looks and weird reactions. This caught his girlfriend's attention, so she turned to find out herself. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped open the moment her eyes met Jason's, who was still crying without even realizing it.

"Jason? What is he doing in a hotel like this? How did he even get here to start with?" She muttered in silence. Her hand folded into a fist as she tried to control her anxiety.

People around were still waiting to see the end result; they were all curious to know what was happening. Silently, Jenny hoped for Jason to leave or even pretend not to know her.

She even tried giving him signals to leave and saying that she would explain everything later, but Jason couldn't see any of her signals.

"Jenny!" Jason found himself calling out the moment she was about to leave, and she froze. He couldn't just let her go in as much as he wanted to. His heart still yearned for her badly, which gives him hopes of getting her back.

Jenny turned to look at him slowly as Jason walked closer to her, still crying. She is filled with guilt and regrets not telling him earlier. Her plan was to get engaged first before telling him, so he could let her be and not try to beg her.

How was she supposed to know he was going to be here to witness her getting proposed to by another man?

Maybe she should have also ended things with him earlier, but her pity for him prevented her from doing so; she wasn't ready to break the poor guy's heart.

But now, Jenny regrets everything; she even regrets agreeing to date him in the first place because of his looks, but it was too late as she feared that everything might be ruined.

The anxious crowd watched closely, waiting for the next move from either of them. It is surprising how they have been together since high school and now they have to go their separate ways. Jason thought their love would last long and they might end up marrying each other, but now all hope seems to be lost.

Jenny, on the other hand, loved Jason even though she agreed to date him because of his looks. She got into trouble financially a few months back, and that was when she met Donald, her fiance. He helped her solve all her problems, even the easy ones Jason wasn't able to solve.

Jason was always busy with different part-time jobs and never had her time; even when she needed him the most, he was always too busy. When her favorite cousin died and she needed someone to talk to, hug, and console her, Jason was too busy looking for money for his tuition, and that was the moment Donald started taking his place in her life.

"Jason, just forget," Jenny was interrupted by the resounding sound from her fiance's luxurious car that just arrived at the entrance. When she saw him, a fake smile appeared on her face, and all Jason did was stare at the flashy car and wonder when he would ever get to ride a car like that.

The car got everyone's attention for a while, but not until Jenny's fiance came out and walked towards her, completely ignoring everyone and everything around. He got to where Jenny stood and slowly slid his left hand around her tiny waist, but Jason took out his hand hastily.

Donald was stunned for a second, he turned to look at Jenny and inquired to know who Jason was.

"Him? He is uhm uhm," Jenny began to stutter; she didn't know how to introduce Jason to her fiance for fear of losing him. Donald didn't wait for her explanation and went closer to Jason, who gazed at him angrily even though he was jealous of everything Donald had.

"Yuck!" Donald shouted and moved backward. He covered his nose with his right hand, staring at Jason with an irritating look on his face. He complained about the horrible smell coming from Jason and questioned Jenny again about his identity once more.

She kept mute for a few seconds. On taking one last glance at Jason, she remembered he was working here.

"I am her boyfriend!" Jason shouted to the hearing of everybody in the hall. He knew Jenny was about to deny knowing him; she was going to tell Donald that he was a worker here.
