Meanwhile, inside the room, Gavin stared at the System warning in shock. He never expected his biological urges to affect his System status.

“Shit... am I seriously going to die just because I’m suppressing my libido?”

[System Stability Decreased: 1%]

Gavin froze slightly, his mouth hanging open.

Earlier, he had been trying hard to remain calm after seeing Olivia standing by the bedroom door right after finishing her shower.

As beautiful as she was, this wasn’t Gavin’s first time seeing Olivia.

She had even hugged him earlier out of excitement after he transferred the money to save her club.

But Gavin’s blood still heated instantly the moment he saw her now. Without makeup, Her slightly damp hair framing her face while the fresh scent of soap lingered around her body.

Even though Gavin tried to keep eye contact while speaking to her, he still noticed the tiny black panties contrasting sharply against her pale skin.

And Gavin seriously doubted Olivia was wearing anything else beneath the slightly transparent white top that barely reached her waist.

“Oh, fuck...” Gavin muttered internally.

“There’s no way I can do that with her just because I helped her, right?”

“Oh, fuck... this System is insane.”

Gavin cursed quietly, feeling that the System operated in an extremely abnormal way. But then suddenly, his brows furrowed as he remembered something Olivia said earlier.

“Wait... wasn’t that...”

For a moment, Gavin felt the idea made disturbingly logical sense after remembering Olivia’s promise.

But shortly after, he immediately shook his head.

“I... no, no, no.” Gavin exhaled roughly. “There are more important things I should be thinking about right now.”

He opened another status panel.

“With what I have now... I can always get that later.”

Gavin shifted his attention back toward the endless rows of numbers on the System interface and stared at them for a long moment before slowly shaking his head.

“It feels like these numbers aren’t just meant to let me buy whatever I want...” he muttered. “This System is pushing me to keep moving forward.”

Gavin began thinking of proper ways to spend money.

But because he had never spent more than ten thousand dollars in an entire year before... He genuinely had no idea how to spend one hundred million dollars within a single month.

“If this keeps going, I need to find the right way to spend my MMS.” Gavin rubbed his forehead. “Otherwise, this is going to become really dangerous. I refuse to die because I’m rich. That would be unbelievably stupid.”

The number on the System had already dropped significantly because he happened to discover one way to spend it.

And now, Gavin finally realized those numbers weren’t just money. They were tools the System expected him to use to complete its missions.

“Will I really die if I fail to use it properly?”

“Fuck... what am I supposed to do?” Gavin muttered anxiously. “Of course I’ll die. This System literally exists inside my body...”

Gavin looked increasingly uneasy. But a few moments later...A notification suddenly appeared on his phone.

Gavin immediately picked it up. And the moment he saw the sender, he frowned.

“Bella?”

For some reason, Gavin instantly opened the message. Deep inside, a small part of him still hoped Bella had changed her mind.

After all, he was rich now. He was certain he could make Bella happy. Far happier than Brandon ever could.

“I left all your useless stuff beside the trash bins outside my dorm. If you don’t pick them up soon, maintenance will throw them away. Don’t reply to this message, and don’t ever try contacting me again.”

Gavin fell silent for a few seconds before a single word finally escaped his mouth.

“Bitch...”

The next day, Gavin was still staying at the apartment when Olivia finally returned after spending the entire morning handling the settlement of her debt.

According to Olivia, she intentionally hadn’t reopened the club yet. Since rumors about Noctis shutting down had already started spreading, she needed time to gather all the employees and get operations running again.

“Miss Clark... it feels like something’s bothering you.” Gavin looked at her calmly. “Or do you actually mind me staying here?”

Several times already, Gavin had watched Olivia walk in and out of the room before sitting down, standing up again, then sitting once more.

The beautiful woman, now wearing a loose white T-shirt that barely covered her hotpants, looked like she wanted to say something but kept hesitating.

“No! No, not at all.” Olivia shook her head quickly. “I’m happy you’re staying here. I’m just... a little confused right now.”

“Miss Clark.” Gavin leaned back slightly. “If there’s something you want to say, just say it.”

Olivia finally inhaled deeply before asking,

“Gavin... can I know your real identity?” She stared directly into his eyes. “Honestly, I don’t think you’re the same person I used to know. Yesterday, you transferred fifteen million dollars like it was nothing.”

Gavin smiled faintly. “I’m still the Gavin you know.” He shrugged lightly. “You saw my ID back when I applied to work for you, didn’t you?”

“Yeah... which is exactly why I—”

“Miss Clark.” Gavin interrupted calmly. “This is my second condition. Can you avoid asking about the source of my money?”

He paused briefly before continuing. “Honestly, I don’t enjoy explaining things people wouldn’t understand anyway.”

Olivia stayed silent for a moment before finally nodding. “Alright. I understand. I won’t ask again.”

In the end, Olivia could only settle on one conclusion. Gavin probably came from an extremely wealthy and powerful family.

After all, casually throwing around fifteen million dollars without blinking was something only someone vastly richer could possibly do.

As for how wealthy Gavin truly was... Olivia no longer wanted to speculate. To her, it was enough that Gavin had saved her. And one day, she intended to repay that kindness.

“Miss Clark,” Gavin suddenly spoke again, “if you don’t mind me asking... how did you end up with that kind of debt?”

“When I worked at the club, things seemed stable. The place was packed every night.”

Olivia’s expression immediately changed. She looked away briefly before turning back toward Gavin.

“This is all because of that bastard Jared Trenton.”

“Jared Trenton?” Gavin frowned. “Who’s that?”

“You don’t know Jared?”

Gavin shook his head. “No. This is my first time hearing that name.”

Olivia looked genuinely surprised. How could someone living in Riverton not know who Jared Trenton was? But she quickly dismissed the thought and explained anyway.

“Jared is one of the major leaders in Northgate Distric's business mafia network.” Olivia crossed her arms lightly. “Four years ago, I borrowed three million dollars from him.”

“And the interest was insane.”

“Within just a few months, the debt became five million... and it kept growing.”

“The longer it went on, the harder it became to pay.”

“In the end, I borrowed fifteen million from the bank just to pay him off.”

“Business mafia network...?”

“Yeah.” Olivia nodded bitterly. “They operate money-lending businesses.”

Now Gavin understood. He had heard about those kinds of lenders before, Easy loans, Minimal requirements, But brutal interest rates.

Some of his college friends had gotten trapped in similar online debt schemes and eventually ended up dealing with organizations like that.

Still, this was the first time Gavin had heard the name of one of their leaders directly.

“I see...” Gavin muttered. “Hopefully you won’t have to deal with this Jared guy again in the future.”

Olivia smiled faintly. “Gavin... people like us can’t avoid people like Jared.”

“There are countless people like him in Riverton.”

“Some wear suits...”

“Some run banks...”

“Some own businesses...”

“But one way or another, people like them are always involved in our lives.”

Hearing that, Gavin suddenly remembered the old man who gave him that beer two nights ago.

“Miss Clark...” Gavin looked at her seriously. “Would you mind telling me how the business world in Riverton actually works?”

Olivia blinked.

“Why?” Her eyes suddenly brightened slightly. “Are you interested in starting a business?”

Gavin nodded. “Yeah. I’m a little interested.”

“Alright then.” Olivia smiled. “That’s easy enough.”

“Besides...” She laughed softly. “You’re technically my boss now.”

“Just think of me as your assistant. I’ll explain everything.”

Olivia paused briefly, gathering her thoughts. Then she spoke again.

“To make sure you won’t be shocked later...” Her gaze turned slightly more serious. “I should probably start by explaining how the business world in Riverton really operates.”

“Go ahead.” Gavin leaned back calmly. “I’m listening.”
