Chapter 1
1. You’ll Come Crawling Back
Rain lashed against the towering glass walls of the Hart Penthouse, painting streaks across the night skyline of Cloudcrest City. From thirty stories above ground, the world looked distant, like a painting hung on a wall. Cold. Untouchable.
Leon Grant stood in the kitchen, the sleeves of his white shirt rolled up, his eyes on the boiling pot in front of him. He stirred the sauce absently, checking the clock. It was 10:57 p.m. Three hours late.
He’d cooked her favorite, truffle linguine with garlic butter shrimp. A bottle of aged red sat uncorked on the table, the candlelight flickering with every draft that slipped through the hallway.
He tried to convince himself this was just another late meeting. That maybe, just maybe, Selena would walk in with an apology. But he already knew better.
The elevator chimed. Leon wiped his hands and walked toward the door just as it slid open.
The woman who stepped in looked like she’d walked off the cover of a Forbes magazine, tailored emerald dress, flawless makeup, and a leather handbag that cost more than the average car.
Selena Hart didn’t even glance at him as she walked in, shaking her wet curls off her shoulder like a goddess among mortals.
“Late night,” Leon said gently.
Selena tossed her bag on the couch. “Don’t start.”
He gestured toward the table. “I made dinner.”
“I already ate. Board dinner ran long.”
Leon stood quietly as her heels clicked across the floor, heading straight for the bedroom.
“Selena,” he called after her, “do you even remember what today is?”
She stopped. Looked over her shoulder, eyes blank.
He gave a hollow laugh. “Our anniversary.”
A pause. “Right.” She turned fully. “Sorry. Work came up.”
“Every day, it’s work. Every night, it’s work. Do I even matter anymore?”
She exhaled like he was exhausting her. “Why are you being so dramatic?”
Leon stepped closer, voice low. “Because I gave up everything to be with you. I turned down promotions, moved cities, left behind my life, just so you could chase your dreams.”
Selena folded her arms. “And I made those dreams a reality. Don’t act like I owe you for the life I built.”
His voice caught. “You built?”
“Yes.” Her eyes gleamed with the same cold ambition that had once drawn him in. “I earned every cent, every client, every headline. You’ve been a, supportive husband. That’s it. Don’t mistake being present for being relevant.”
The words were a knife. One she didn’t even realize she held.
Leon’s voice dropped. “You really see me as just a ghost in your shadow, don’t you?”
She tilted her head. “Leon, you don’t have a job. You haven’t for years. You volunteer, cook, play house while I run an empire. I'm not trying to hurt you, but if you’re feeling small, that’s not my fault. Maybe it’s time you, grew up.”
Something inside him snapped, not with rage, but with clarity. It was like looking at a painting he’d stared at for years, only to finally see the cracks.
He walked to the table, picked up the ring box he had been holding onto all evening.
Slowly, he opened it, inside was the matching ring he’d saved for a vow renewal. He shut it, and placed it on the table beside the uneaten food.
Selena frowned. “What are you doing?”
“I’m done,” he said quietly.
She blinked. “What?”
“I’m done being your convenience. Your background character. Your plan B. You don’t need me, remember?”
Selena stepped closer, indignant. “Are you trying to scare me? Walk out and do what, Leon? Sleep on a friend’s couch? You think anyone will take you seriously after being a househusband for five years?”
He looked her in the eye. “I’d rather be nothing on my own than a ghost living under someone who can’t even see me.”
She crossed her arms, smirking. “You’ll come crawling back.”
He stepped toward the door, grabbed his coat, and looked back one last time.
“No, Selena. This time, I’m not the one who’ll be crawling.” Then he left.
And for the first time in five years, Selena Hart was alone in a silence she couldn’t buy her way out of.
…
Across Town. Two Hours Later. Leon stood in a modest apartment complex, far from the glittering skyline.
He unlocked the door to a bare living room, just a couch, a lamp, and a desk in the corner. On that desk was a locked case. He opened it.
Inside lay a sleek tablet, a secure satellite phone, and a black credit card embossed with a company logo: Vanguard Capital.
Leon dialed. The voice on the other end answered instantly. “You finally calling the shots again, sir?”
Leon’s jaw tightened. “Pull everything. All assets, all ties, every shadow connection to Hart Industries. Effective immediately.”
“Copy that. Anything else?”
“Yes,” Leon said coldly. “Make sure none of them know why they’re bleeding. Let her think it’s the market. Let her think it’s karma.”
The voice hesitated. “And when she starts falling?”
Leon stared out the window, eyes unreadable. “Then she’ll know what it feels like to build an empire on a ghost’s shoulders.”
…
At the Hart Penthouse, Selena was pouring herself a drink when her assistant, Mia, called.
“Ma’am, we just got word, our ad campaign with NovaTech is on hold.”
Selena frowned. “What? Why?”
“They didn’t say. Just… pulled out. And, um, your meeting with the Hong Kong investors tomorrow? Cancelled. They’re claiming they need to ‘reassess risks.’”
Selena scoffed. “It’s fine. I’ll fix it.”
But as she sat in silence, her reflection stared back at her from the black screen of the TV. Her confidence didn’t feel quite so solid anymore.
She picked up the ring Leon had left, and for the first time, her smirk faltered.
Back in the apartment, Leon opens an old file, photos of Selena, deal documents, old wire transfers, shadow companies all leading back to her success.
At the bottom is a signature, Leon Grant, Founder, Vanguard Capital.
He burns the file. Then dials again. “Jason,” he says.
“Yes, boss?”
“Let’s remind the world who built her.”

Divorcing The Female CEO: Leon's Revenge Chapter 20. The Trap at the Mansion
The grand hall smelled of blood and smoke. The bodies of Gregory Hart’s guards lay across the polished marble floor, their lifeless eyes staring into nothing. Some had fallen against the stairwell, others sprawled across broken furniture. The silence was heavy, broken only by the faint creak of the old chandelier swaying above.Kael Voss sat in the high-backed chair at the end of the hall, as if the mansion belonged to him now. His silver hair glistened in the dim light. His hands rested calmly on the armrests, his posture steady, confident, like a king on his throne.Leon stepped forward, his boots crunching against shattered glass. His gun stayed steady in his hand. “Where’s Gregory?”Kael smiled faintly. “Ah, straight to business. No greetings, no pleasantries. You wound me, Leon.”Jason scanned the shadows, his rifle sweeping left and right. “Boss, this feels wrong. Too quiet.”Eira’s green eyes never left Kael. “It is wrong. He wanted us here.”Kael chuckled softly. “Correct, a

The papers lay scattered across Selena’s bed like broken glass. Numbers, signatures, accounts, all pointing to one truth she wished she could unsee. Her father. Gregory Hart. The man who had raised her, the man who had built her world of privilege and protection, was helping Kael Voss.Selena pressed a trembling hand to her lips, fighting the sob that threatened to escape. Her chest hurt. It felt as if her heart itself had been split in two.The villa was quiet around her. Too quiet. She thought she could hear the faint hum of the night insects outside, the steady crash of waves against distant rocks, but inside the walls, silence pressed like a weight. If Leon knew, what would he do? He would go after Gregory. He would destroy him, no matter the cost. And if she confessed, Leon would see her as tainted too. She was Gregory’s daughter, after all. Kael’s words came back to her, sharp as knives: “Blood always finds blood.”Selena wiped her eyes and forced herself to gather the papers ba

Divorcing The Female CEO: Leon's Revenge Chapter 18. The Devil’s Bargain
The harbor was quiet except for the sound of water slapping against the wooden piers. The night mist curled low, carrying the faint scent of salt and rust.Selena Hart walked carefully across the damp boards. Each step echoed softly, swallowed quickly by the heavy fog.Her coat did little against the chill, but it wasn’t the cold that made her shiver. It was the man waiting at the end of the pier.Kael Voss stood there, tall and unmoving. His long black coat rippled slightly in the breeze, silver hair catching the pale moonlight. He looked like a statue cut from ice, still, sharp, impossible to ignore. When he spoke, his voice was smooth, almost gentle, but every word carried danger. “You came alone. Just as I expected.”Selena kept her chin lifted even though her knees wanted to tremble. “I didn’t come for you. I came for answers.”Kael smiled faintly. “And answers you shall have.”Selena stopped several feet away from him, close enough to hear every breath, far enough that she coul

Divorcing The Female CEO: Leon's Revenge Chapter 17. Darkness Within
The villa went dark in an instant. Every light, every lamp, every quiet hum of electricity vanished. The silence that followed was thick, heavier than before. Even the air felt different, like the villa itself had been hollowed out. For a moment, no one moved. Then Jason’s voice cut through the dark. “Power’s down. The emergency grid’s not kicking in. This isn’t an accident.”Leon’s hand went immediately to his weapon. His voice was steady but sharp. “Everyone, stay calm. Check your positions. Jason, backup lights, now.”Jason cursed under his breath. “On it.”But even as he moved, a faint sound echoed from deep below the villa. A steady, rhythmic tick, tick, tick. Selena froze. Her whisper was barely audible. “What is that?”Eira answered, her tone flat. “A bomb.”The words jolted the room into motion. Leon’s voice snapped like a command. “Jason, take the east wing. Find the breaker. Selena, stay close. Eira, with me. We go to the cellar.”Selena grabbed his arm in the dark. “Leon,

The sun was just beginning to rise, painting the misty hills in pale gold. But the light did not make the villa safer. It only revealed the danger more clearly. From the balcony, Leon, Selena, Eira, and Jason looked down the long road. Black SUVs lined up in perfect formation. Their engines growled low, steady, like beasts waiting for the command to strike. And walking calmly at the front was Kael Voss. His silver hair caught the morning light, shining like steel. His dark coat moved slightly with the breeze. He walked as if the entire road belonged to him.Jason swore under his breath. “He brought the whole damn army.”Selena’s voice was sharp. “Why come here openly? He could’ve sent them in the night.”Eira’s green eyes stayed fixed on Kael. Her voice was calm, but there was weight in it. “Because he wants Leon to see him. He wants to prove he’s not afraid.”Leon didn’t move. His eyes narrowed, studying the man who had haunted so many shadows. Finally, he said, “Prepare the defenses

The study fell silent after Eira’s words. Outside, the wind pressed against the shutters, making them creak softly, like the villa itself was holding its breath.Leon stared at her. His jaw was tight, but his eyes, his eyes were colder than she had ever seen. “Say it again,” he said.Eira didn’t flinch. “The man you caught tonight. The one tied up in your side room. He killed your father.”For a long moment, Leon didn’t speak. His fingers curled into fists at his sides. Selena appeared in the doorway, sensing the tension. “What’s going on?”Leon didn’t look at her. His gaze stayed locked on Eira. “You’re certain?”“Yes,” she said simply. “I was there.”Jason stepped into the study, his usual casual tone gone. “Leon, you should hear her out.”Selena crossed her arms. “Start from the beginning.”Eira moved closer, the soft tread of her boots on the floorboards the only sound in the room. “Your father wasn’t killed in some random attack. Kael sent someone to do it. That someone is the ma
