FAREWELL!

"Dad, about our competition, we will be needing a very massive canvas, since all four of us will take portions in one piece." Sindra informed his father.

"I think I know what you need" Father said and went into his art gallery storage followed by his sons. He searched and searched for about 3 minutes when 'aha' he finally found it. His own personal board that has been with him for over 20 years! This one is very very old indeed .

"Woah. . . .! This is jumbo man. . . ." The young men exclaimed exitedly.

Father brought it down from an old shelve with support from his boys and then blew some concentrated dust out from it.

He paused for a bit, smiled as if remembering an old memory, faced his boys again and said..

"This..."He said "is the biggest gift I received from the Songbird Art Contest in North America around about 1960. I was the second runner up, and was gifted this." He said proudly.

"I kept it safe till today because I had always wanted to show my kids that they can be like me. They could be winners too, just like me . . Or maybe more than me ." Dad said in eyes full of blissful youthful memories and then hit Sindra with his fist softly..

"This indeed is big dad! Thanks!. . . We may not be as successful as you are but, we will create a history no one will ever forget! " Orcus said with confidence.

"That's the spirit. You boys go get get ready. I'll arrange for the board to get to Nathan. . . . . . ."

Orcus stood up and stood on one end of the light plank that was already framed while Sindra stood on the other end and the two lifted the light item all the way to the sitting room and outside the house where they would transport the board to Nathan's cottage for a very serious planning project to commence. They were so ready.

The boys would be spending the rest of the week taking all the time they could to prepare for their presentation. For the upcoming competition in which other artist all over the state would be blowing brains with mind-blowing artworks which included sculptures, paintings, body art, expressionism, carvings of many sorts, e. t. c . . ..

Truth be told, the first three winners would have to think far from what normal humans would think. They would be exceptional. Top notch and everything they can be to fit into the first three.

"Dad, will we win? What will happen?" Sindra asked as he and his brother hung their bags filled with all the materials they needed.

"I don't know what's gonna happen, the only thing I'm certain of is this "I would sit that day looking at the both of you on stage like the winners you are!" Go out there and make your mother proud boys?" Said Uncle Ford as he hugged his two grown up men and watch them move safely in the taxi they had arranged.

"I'm proud of you boys! I hope you cope in your new world!" Uncle Ford said as he went inside .

"Frida. ." Mr. Dawson called out to his daughter who was now sitting close to him alongside Jane.

"Dad.... Dad..." Frida called out as she carefully hugged her dad avoiding the pipes that ran through his nose and chest. .

"Frida.. where's Amanda? Where's my daughter?" The old man asked amidst tears. The memory of Amanda kept striking the hearts of the Dawson's family.

"She's in heaven dad. And she gave me a message for you, Frida said in attempt to comfort her father". Really, what does it say? The sick old man asked with tears rolling down his eyes.

"It says 'Dad, don't blame yourself for whatever happened, I'll be fine. I love you all!'" Amanda managed to make her father smile faintly finally and pet him on his head until he went back to sleep.

"Amanda ran away two years ago. And it was all our fault. We've been trying to get over it even if it has been very difficult. Dad is mostly affected by the trauma." Frida now facing Jane said.

"I hope you guys are able to get over it...really" Jane said making the hospital room now more friendly and hopeful.

"So, how about your guy?" Frida now having a little sense of happiness asked.

"Oh, about that...." Jane smiled. "He's not my guy. Maybe not yet. But I'm so into that cutie pie... I hope he notices me too!" Jane said shyly as she looked away from Frida.

"So, what happens to Sindra? That dude has not given up and I'm sure he never will... Like he keeps finding a way to approach you, but the handsome hasn't found a way yet. Funny love story. Jane and the two lovebirds Frida said and laughed calmly.

"Come on babe, you know it will never work out between me and that guy. He's so not my type. He's cool though, he could be yours..." Jane looking back at Frida facetiously answered her friend and rocked her tiny voice into laughter.

"You crazy Jane... Why would I?. . . !" Retorted Frida who was now laughing a little loudly. "Nothing will make me fall in love ever again" she reminded Jane.

"Oooh... Somebody has not gotten over a heartbreak from what I see here. Are you really going to keep doing this? Okay, fine, that monster broke your heart, but there are other guys out there. Real ones who will you like the queen you are. . . C'mon Frida... I could link you up with two or more if you want. Just say the word." Jane said.

"Love Doctor. What drugs do I need? My heart is broken Miss. . . ." Frida mocked Jane in an official tone of voice. .

"Ladies, please you can now wait in the lobby while we administer final treatment on him. . ." A young looking doctor said as he entered the patient's room.

Frida kissed her father on his forehead and left.
