Chapter 20

“What?” Rachel and Erika were momentarily taken aback. “You want to have Rachel and me in a room before you can help us?” Erika growled, a bitter, amused chuckle escaped her lips. “Are you sick in the head? After taking a proper look at yourself, you think you're worthy of having my friend and me just because of $5k?”

Charlie didn't flinch. “If it's just then go ahead and provide it and don't call me!”

Charlie was about to cut off the call when Rachel's voice quickly came out, “Charlie, please, wait.”

He halted. “What? Do you accept the condition? Yes or no?” He asked.

Rachel bit her lips, frustrated. Her face turned crimson as she held the phone. She never expected that Charlie was going to make such a demand. Trade by barter.

She clutched her phone, agitated, but was masked by a faint smile and a soft voice. “Charlie, please, don't you think you're going too extreme? What will the students say if this gets to their ears? That we slept with someone like….I mean this won't sound nice.”

“And when did I say I'm going to tell it to anyone, huh? Then remain there and let the Chairman of Prime Restaurant torment you guys instead. Maybe after that, your skin will love the pain.”

Hearing that, Erika, agitated, bit her lips nervously, as if imagining the pain she would go through at the hand of the chairman. She wasn't the type who liked seeing her skin get tortured. She wanted to continue looking sexy so that other rich boys on the campus would beg to be her boyfriend while spending lavishly on her.

She blinked, a thought flashing through her mind. Since Charlie had promised not to spill the beans, no one would. Not her nor Rachel.

Hesitatingly, she spoke with gritted teeth. “Since you won't spill the beans then fine, we agree.”

Upon hearing this, Charlie chuckled softly. “You agreed? Oh, good. I'm right on my way.” He ended the call, his smirk growing wide.

But short enough, his smirk disappeared. He felt a bit melancholic, pondering over the whole thing. The two friends, who always looked down on him, were now willing to go to the hotel to have a room with him.

What a life twist.

Sometimes in life, one needs to have money.

With that, he turned back, facing the compound. Without delay, he started walking toward the door.

Meanwhile, as the call ended, Rachel snatched back her phone from Erika's hand, glared before yelling at her, disgust in her voice. “What did you just say? We're going to let that trash picker have both of us in a room? Have you gone crazy?”

“No, Rachel. You may think I am, but I'm not. I did what was just necessary. It's just a night. Besides, this is going to remain within the abode of the three of us. No one will know. Instead of staying here, let's go with him and get it done then leave. It's getting dark outside there.”

Rachel stood there, staring at her, as if considering her words.

Just then.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Sounds of footsteps began to echo through the silence, attracting attention.

Charlie.

He walked inside, his footsteps deliberately fast as he walked straight to the waitress who stood there, clearly seeming to be waiting for Rachel and Erika, her arms crossed and her face contorted with rage.

Before Erika and Rachel could blink from the corner they were standing in, inCharlie reached out to his pocket, pulled out his black card, and casually handed it to the waitress.

“Charge it. For the duo,” he said softly, pointing at Erika and Rachel. The two rushed over immediately, watching the process.

The waitress didn't delay. She processed it, and Charlie input his PIN

The device beeped, the notification echoing through the silence, indicating a successful payment.

Handing the card over to Charlie, the waitress said, “It's done, sir.”

Charlie collected it without a word. Turning, he looked at Erika and Rachel and said coolly. “Follow me.”
