Amber responded coldly, “Whether he causes me trouble or not, that’s none of your business! Get out of my sight right now—you’re incredibly annoying!”

Hearing that, Ethan couldn’t hide the irritation on his face. He hadn’t expected his provocation to have absolutely no effect on Amber.

Still, he wasn’t ready to give up. There was no way he would allow a woman as stunning and perfect as Amber to be anywhere near Caleb. Caleb was better suited for some ugly, overweight woman!

He tried again, attempting to convince her, “Miss, didn’t you hear me? He’s a criminal. He once almost killed someone. There’s nothing good that’ll come from having him around—he’s just going to drag you into trouble!”

“God, you’re seriously annoying! Who I’m with is none of your damn business!” Amber snapped, clearly losing her patience.

Ethan felt a wave of frustration hit him. No matter what he said, Amber was stubborn and completely unmoved.

Wasn’t this bastard just some ex-con who used to run a restaurant? What’s so special about him?

And yet… how was he able to attract a woman like this? What was it about Caleb that drew such beauty to his side?

As Ethan puzzled over this in silence, Ava suddenly jumped in and snapped, “Caleb, just do what Mr. Thompson says! Get out of here right now and wait for me at home! Your presence here is an eyesore! You don’t belong in a place like this!”

Hearing that, Caleb’s expression turned icy. Not only did Ava look down on him, she had no shame in humiliating him in front of so many people.

Did this mean Caleb had truly lost the woman he once loved most? Should he treat her as if she no longer existed?

Honestly, Caleb wasn’t sure what to do anymore. Was divorce the only way forward?

While he was lost in his thoughts, Amber, unable to stand Ava’s attitude, finally spoke up. “Can’t you show even the tiniest bit of respect to your own husband? Insulting him like that in public—you’re a terrible wife!”

Ava shot back with a dismissive tone, “Why should I respect a useless husband like him?! He should be grateful I still even acknowledge him as my husband. Honestly, who else would ever want him besides me?”

Amber didn’t know Caleb all that well, but hearing Ava insult him like that made her genuinely angry. She immediately retorted, “I do! I’m willing to be with him, and I’ll treat him well! He deserves a woman who actually values and respects him as a husband!”

Hearing those words, Ava suddenly felt a strange pang of pain in her chest. She couldn’t accept the idea of another woman trying to take Caleb away from her.

Was she… jealous?

But how could that be? She didn’t love Caleb anymore. To her, he was nothing but worthless trash that needed to be thrown away.

So why did it bother her so much when another woman wanted him?

No matter how hard she tried to deny it, she couldn’t bear the thought of losing Caleb. That’s why Ava snapped, “You want to be with him?! I won’t allow it! He’s still my husband, and I won’t let you take him from me! He’ll stay my dog forever!”

Amber smiled mockingly. “Oh? Is that a challenge? Let me tell you—there’s nothing I can’t do. I could easily make sure you and Caleb get divorced!”

Ava laughed. “Go ahead and try, Bitch! All you’ll get is disappointment!”

She had no idea who Amber really was—this was their first time ever meeting.

But with the wealth and backing of the Thompson Family behind her, she was confident she could crush this woman!

Meanwhile, Ethan’s face darkened. He hadn’t expected this gorgeous woman to be interested in Caleb.

Of course, he had to admit—he was incredibly jealous of Caleb! That bastard was way too lucky!

If he could have Amber by his side, he wouldn’t hesitate to throw Ava away like trash. He was already sick of her and had been hoping to find someone more beautiful—and clearly, Amber was the new target.

But Amber chose to be with this useless nobody? Seriously, he was starting to question her taste.

At that moment, an old man at the podium announced that the auction was about to begin, forcing both parties to part ways for now.

As they walked in opposite directions, Ava threw a cold glare at Caleb and hissed, “Wait for me at home, Caleb! You’ll pay for this!”

Caleb simply turned his face away, ignoring her completely—only infuriating Ava further. If they weren’t at a formal event, she would’ve slapped him right then and there.

How dare that worthless bastard ignore me?!

Ava swore to herself she would teach Caleb a lesson. Even with that woman’s support, he wouldn’t escape punishment!

Meanwhile, walking behind Amber, Caleb spoke softly, “Thank you for defending me, Miss Amber. You even went as far as to lie just to protect my dignity. I truly appreciate your kindness.”

To his surprise, Amber replied, “Why would you think I was lying?”

Caleb frowned. “What do you mean, Miss Amber?”

With a flirty smile, Amber said, “I’m genuinely interested in you. I really do want to make you mine.”

As soon as Caleb stepped outside the villa, his phone rang. It was Old Master Julius, asking him to come to the Knight Family residence to discuss their next move.Caleb didn’t bother hiding his intention to destroy the Thompson Family—not from someone like Julius Knight, the business genius of Fluxville. There was nothing worth hiding from a man like that. So, he agreed and made his way to the Knight residence. Now, inside Julius Knight’s private study—hidden in the eastern wing of the estate—the room was warm, filled with the scent of aged wood and ginseng tea. A massive map of Fluxville was spread out across a long black marble table, littered with pins, red strings, and tiny notes.Old Man Julius stood in front of the map, pointing toward the western district of the city. “This is the Thompson Family’s headquarters. Clean on the outside, but their pharmaceutical distribution... has cracks. They’re smuggling experimental drugs from overseas through a chain of illegal clinics.”Cale

Every head turned. The room fell into an instant hush. Ethan and Arnold were both stunned—they hadn’t invited him.Arnold stood up, voice filled with disbelief. “O-old Master Julius… what an honor. We didn’t expect you to be here.”Old Master Julius replied flatly, “I heard there was a party. Sounded interesting. But… I’m not fond of parties that exist just to humiliate others.”All eyes turned to Ethan. Julius slowly walked toward Caleb and stopped behind him.He looked at Ethan with a cold gaze. “Careful, Kid. You have no idea how deep the roots go… of someone you think is beneath you.”Ethan frowned, trying to stay composed. “I don’t understand, Old Master Julius…”Julius gave a faint smile. “Sometimes, a lion sleeps among sheep. Only a fool thinks it’s smart to kick it for fun.”He gave Caleb a pat on the shoulder, then turned and walked out, saying over his shoulder, “This party is boring. Not worth my time. Goodbye.”Logan followed behind Old Master Julius, glaring at Ethan cold

Hearing the conversation between the two men, Ava and Ethan could only sit there in stunned silence. They could barely keep up. The way these two powerful figures played with words was simply too deep.Meanwhile, Arnold leaned in, his voice dropping to a more personal tone. “Old Master Julius… let’s cut the pleasantries. You and I both know the pharmaceutical business isn’t just about healing. Sometimes… preventing too early kills the market.”Old Master Julius wasn’t surprised—he simply raised one eyebrow. “You’re starting to sound like a pharmacist… who prefers the disease to stay.”Arnold chuckled. “We don’t create the illness, Old Master Julius. We just… prolong the symptoms.”Julius’s expression turned serious. “And you think the Knight family is desperate enough to profit off pain?”Arnold stayed calm, placing a data tablet on the table and sliding it over. “Not desperate—smart. We’ve got distribution channels in lawless regions. Unlicensed generics, experimental compounds too ‘

At this point, Caleb pulled out his phone and called Amber. It didn’t take long for the call to connect. With a cheerful voice, Amber asked, “What’s up, Caleb? Do you need something?”“The Thompson family and my wife, Ava, want to meet with the Knight family to discuss a business partnership. I’d like you to accept their offer, Miss Amber. Of course, I want the biggest benefits to go to the Knight family—and make them completely dependent on you. One last thing: don’t let them know this was my idea,” Caleb said right away. After a brief silence on the other end of the line, Amber finally replied, “Alright, if that’s what you want, Caleb. My grandfather and I will handle it just the way you asked.”Hearing that, Caleb smiled with satisfaction and replied, “Thank you, Miss Amber.”Of course, Caleb wasn’t doing this to help Ava and Ethan. He wanted to trap them—make them unknowingly step into his game so that when the time came, he could crush them completely. This was the perfect first

Because Caleb had always seen Joshua like his own brother, of course he paid for all of Joshua’s education until he graduated. He even helped Joshua land a great job at a company. And yet this is how he was repaid?Caleb was so disappointed he felt like crying.Hearing what Caleb said, Joshua pulled his hand away with a disgusted look and snapped, “Screw that, Bastard! Sure, you helped me back then, but now that the Morales Family is on top, all of that means nothing to me! So tell me—how much did you spend on me? I’ll pay every cent back right now!”Ashley immediately cut in. There was no way she was going to let Caleb get all that money back! He didn’t deserve it.“No! Don’t give him a single cent, Joshua! He’s Ava’s husband—that means it was his duty to support us. You should’ve asked for more from him. For the last three years, all he’s given us is a bit of his savings and that old restaurant!”Watching Caleb get humiliated by the Morales Family, Ethan couldn’t hide his satisfied

Don’t hesitate to contact me or Amber if you ever need help. Amber and I will be more than happy to assist you.”Amber then added, her face full of hope, “Even if you don’t want to marry me, you’ll still be my bodyguard, right, Caleb?”Caleb replied, “Of course. I still need this job, Miss Amber.”Hearing that, Amber was overjoyed. Even if she couldn’t win Caleb’s heart today, she knew she had a good shot in the future. If she worked hard enough, it wasn’t impossible to make Caleb fall for her. She just needed patience and persistence. At that moment, Caleb’s phone suddenly rang. It was a call from Ava
