Danny began to get homesick as he sat alone in the darkness with the noises from the zombies as a background sound.

In the midst of the unforgiving thrill in the atmosphere, he wondered why he needed to be here at all.

How he had to seek refuge inside a makeshift room within a desolate clubhouse. Why he should be in a dark room where the only sound that permeated the silence was the occasional groaning of the undead lurking beyond the barricaded doors?

He was supposed to be home. With his family in his perfect world where he was just an invisible high school boy.

As he sat alone in the darkness, Danny's heart contained to ache with homesickness, his thoughts drifting back to a time when he wasn't in a world was overrun by hordes of the undead.

In the corners of his mind, vivid memories of his past life came rushing back like a torrential wave.

He closed his eyes and could almost feel the tender embrace of his mother, her soothing touch comforting him like a warm blanket.
