This time, stepping into the depths beneath Solis felt different for Exodus Thorne.

He moved through the underground aqueducts with a newfound grace, a predatory ease that resonated with his transformed body. Before his confrontation with Kael Darkwater, navigating the physical world felt like wearing an ill-fitting suit. But now, it felt perfect. The first harvest had intertwined his lingering human memories with the rigid structure of the Revenant.

He arrived at the solid wall of iron-veined granite that concealed the entrance to the Sunken Arsenal. Unlike before, he no longer needed his blade to trigger the mechanism.

Exodus placed his pale hand on the stone. The ancient granite groaned, responding to the expanded power coursing through him, and swiftly slid open. The heavy doors closed behind him, sealing him in the profound silence of his subterranean refuge.

He approached the center of the chamber, his gaze fixed on the oak planning table where his dark broadsword rested.

From across the room, the weapon had changed beyond recognition.

The blade, once etched with dim, glowing symbols, now pulsed with a fierce energy. The runes no longer glowed pale green; they burned with a dark emerald fire, casting shadows over the rows of ancient iron armor lining the walls. As Exodus drew closer, the sword emitted a low metallic hum, like a distant choir of mourning voices.

He grasped the hilt with his gauntleted hand.

As he did, a surge of spiritual energy shot through his arm. Exodus didn’t flinch, but his abyssal eyes widened as a vision pulled him into the Graveyard.

Instead of the familiar gray expanse, he stood before his own tombstone. Beside it, a new grave appeared, freshly disturbed, bearing the name *KAEL DARKWATER*. From its center, a glowing emerald ribbon wound around Exodus’s wrist, merging into his flesh.

The Graveyard’s voice echoed in his mind, clearer and weightier than before.

*A soul claimed. A debt acknowledged. Expand the ledger, Revenant. Seize the traitor's legacy.*

Images raced through Exodus’s mind—Kael's childhood, training, burning ambition, and the moment he betrayed. Alongside these memories, he absorbed Kael’s combat essence—his speed, his agility, his skirmisher’s instinct.

The vision faded, and Exodus found himself once more in the Sunken Arsenal.

He examined his right hand. The leather glove remained pristine, but his arm moved with speed defying mortal limits. He raised his broadsword and executed a vanguard strike. The blade sliced the air with a thunderous clap, leaving a shimmering trail of emerald light.

The Graveyard had not only taken Kael’s soul but also his formidable agility, gifting it to Exodus. He was no longer just a powerhouse of strength; he now possessed the swift agility of the Empire’s best skirmisher.

But the change was more than physical.

Exodus focused on the death-magic within him. He sensed a new power, a spell unlocked by the harvest. Opening his palm, he summoned not chaotic black mist, but a dense shadow forming a spectral hound of ash and green flame.

This Graveyard Thrall, born from Kael’s final panic, could track the remaining eight traitors, slipping through walls and matter to find them.

"A hunter needs a hound," Exodus whispered, his voice resonating in the empty chamber.

With a flick of his wrist, the ash-hound sank into the stone floor, beginning its silent patrol of the city.

He placed his sword back on the table, assessing his status. The transformation process was clear. Each traitor he brought down would enhance him, stripping them of their skills and adding to his own.

Marius’s tactics. Viktor’s martial mastery. Sera’s precision.

By the time he reached the last grave, he would not merely be seeking vengeance. He would be an unstoppable force, a god of death, wielding the stolen strengths of the vanguard.

He studied the ancient maps spread across the oak table. The first step had gone smoothly, but Kael's absence wouldn’t stay hidden. Even with Lyra Moonwhisper altering intelligence reports, his failure to report for duty would eventually raise suspicions among the commanders.

Paranoia would spread slowly, but surely, forcing the remaining eight to unite, turning the city into a fortress.

Exodus traced the map of the military ring, his eyes locking onto the Nightshade Twins’ barracks. Cassia and Marcus shared a bond so tight, they communicated across battlefields.

Striking one would alert the other.

To defeat them, he needed to sever their bond, turning their strength into their downfall.

Exodus pulled his cloak around his shoulders, the emerald runes on his blade dimming to a quiet glow. The safehouse had revealed its secrets. The transformation had granted its prize. The hunt had evolved from desperate skirmishes into a calculated campaign of annihilation.

He turned to leave, his mind in sync with the relentless rhythm of the cemetery below.

The second chapter of his vengeance awaited.
