Pulling out a wonder

Rank hundred was sure he had won and nothing could change that fact. Even the judges who were unwilling to announce the results, or those amongst the crowd whom he had bullied or others who hated him. He really felt glorious.

"I thought rank three hundred and eleven would be a dark horse it is really unfortunate." The principal lamented.

"It really looked like he was gonna become a hero and save so many from the tyranny of rank hundred." A female chipped in.

"Don't give up bro stand up once more." Tilas encouraged with his whole body jerking in excitement.

"If you were rank three hundred and eleven I doubt that you would have listen to that." The female chuckled lightly

"But that was just a basic fist art it was nothing spectacular or formidable."

"Now to you it is not but I can swear you howled in excitement when you were taught about it." She snickered expecting a reply from Tilas instead she heard him clench his fist and scream "yes!"

On turning back to the screen, she saw rank three hundred and eleven standing weakly.

"He will surely be kicked back onto the ground." She said without concern and immediately that was said it happened. The excitement from Tilas died down once more.

"What is keeping the judge from pronouncing rank hundred the winner?" The principal asked from his desk which he had already gone back to.

"I don't know." Tilas replied weakly.

"Wait is the judge Gregor Stiff?" The principal asked as though he just woke up from a daze.

"Yeah he is." Tilas replied not seeing anything different about the matter while the principal scampered back to his initial position and in a moment he screamed "I knew it!" Making those who had lost interest rush back to their positions earlier.

Levi was now on his feet once more but instead of weakness, a smile curled up his lips. Rank one hundred rushed towards him to send him back to the ground. He had a confused look on his face.

On getting closer to Levi he began to hear a ticking sound like a time bomb and in a flash Levi's appearance changed.

From him a mechanical wave burst forth and displaced everything within his vicinity and also sent rank hundred flying; Now standing in Levi's place was a war suit.

He began to walk towards rank hundred who was now passed out and oblivious of whatever was around him.

"Stop him now!" The principal yelled into Gregor's ear from his own end of the communication device which they both put on and in a split second he stood between Levi who had his hand stretched forth as though he wanted to shoot and rank hundred.

"Rank three hundred and eleven I order you to stop." He said without panic.

"Is that still my ranking?" Levi asked turning his gaze back to his unmoving opponent.

"Ok rank hundred I order you to stop." He corrected himself.

Immediately he heard that, he got convinced he won the contest, his suit which was slightly bigger than him retracted into itself and within few seconds it vanished from everyone's sight leaving the weak but happy Levi standing.

Immediately this happened, the silent crowd roared back to life. This was really the coolest stuff most of them had ever seen in their life. It seemed like a movie was just acted before them and the star and main character was now on stage. Everyone celebrated with him except those in the principal's office who in fear of the principal's bothered look decided to hide their excitement.

"I only told you to stop that fellow not to announce him the winner the principal bellowed into Gregor's ears. His voice was clearly tainted with dissatisfaction.

"I only gave him what he deserved." Gregor retorted calmly.

"He only won by turning into that beast we saw few moments ago." The principal insisted.

"The duelling platform was established that in the quest for survival and victory, the students may pull out a wonder which could become a key to the survival of humans against the invaders. That beast you are referring to is one of those wonder and I believe even the most powerful celestials can not rival that fact.

The principal tried to speak once more but found no point to rival Gregor's ruling. Instead he hit himself for not understanding that all along. With a tap in a button in his office, the glowing light on the two students digital badges dimmed and new figures appeared.

Now Levi became rank hundred!" This fact stood as a shocker to many. Right now there were not many people who can mock him about what they saw on his glasses.

Congratulations on your new rank you may occupy your initial position and listen to my lectures if you wish." Gregor commended.

Levi smiled broadly and turned to go. On taking a step, he realized that his internal organs had been greatly distorted and he could not take another step forward.

He still had the smile on his face when he fell to the ground and saw nothing more.

"Levi!" Jerry screamed bursting into tears instantly. Today was obviously his worst day. Now he had two loads to bear who would he choose over the other.

Levi needed urgent medical attention but if he left Rafael who had refused to wake up to sleep on without staying beside him he would surely be preyed on by other students. He was at loss at what he should do next and he was too scared to call anyone's attention to his plight.

He stood up carrying the motionless and unresponsive Rafael along as he ran towards Levi. Based on his absorption of soul energy, it was somewhat easier for him to do than an average boy of his age.

"What's wrong with Rafael?" Gregor asked on recognizing the unmoving body whom the skinny boy carried around."

"He fell asleep suddenly and had refused to wake up." He hurriedly narrated the situation to whom it concerned.

"Take him to the clinic and tell the nurses that he is my patient and that no one should interrupt his sleep." Gregor instructed him knowing what his sleep could mean.

"What of rank hundred? He also is my friend." Jerry inquired.

"Let's hope he will be okay." Gregor replied and returned his gaze to Levi's unmoving body.

After contemplating for a while Jerry took Rafael to the clinic and told the nurses exactly what Gregor had told him. He was about to leave when a stretcher brought Levi in.

Being a loyal buddy to the two patients he could no longer leave and even when other students enjoyed Gregor's lectures he stayed by the side of his friends praying for their recovery.
