[ You’ve slain X1 Cranosith, EXP +238 (+60) ]
[ Weapon: Basic Sword has been badly damaged ] These two windows popped up the moment William landed on the ground after slaying the abnormality referred to as Cranosith by the system. The cheers of the others in the background could be heard but William paid no attention to them. His attention was instead fixed on the two holographic windows floating in front of him. The hero was pretty confused about how the extra sixty experience points came about. Fortunately, the system didn't ignore his worry this time and provided an explanation for the extra experience points. "A title that increases my overall strength and grants extra experience points only in the presence of witnesses. Not bad." William’s gaze then noticed the words on the other holographic window, bringing his attention to the sword in his grasp. The sword had been damaged so much, a pitiful contrast to its lustrous appearance before the concluded battle. The blade had gone blunt and several cracks were visible; if he should swing his sword against another opponent, it would definitely shatter. William stared at the sword for a few seconds with a saddened expression on his face. The sword had been his only companion since he arrived in this world, with it, he had been able to achieve a lot of growth. He felt some sort of connection with it and was hurt that it was no longer useful. While William inwardly lamented the poor state of his weapon, the cheering crew closed the distance, chanting his name with enthusiasm evident in their loud voices. William heaved a short sigh and aimed his gaze up at the approaching people, he flashed a smile. "What was that move you pulled off? Can you teach me?" "Hero, just what kind of man are you?" "You fight like a war god." Praises were hauled at him by everyone. Most of them did voice their curiosity about his power and tactics, especially the move he pulled at that critical moment. While the praises went on, Osborne brought out a small vial containing a strange liquid and handed it to William. William stared at the strange liquid with a confused expression and then at the old wizard. Osborne smiled and quickly cleared the doubt of the hero about the strange liquid in the vial. "This is a low-grade healing potion brewed by yours truly. It would calm your pain and hasten your recovery by manifold. Go on, take it." "Thank you." William thanked the old wizard sincerely. He was worried earlier about how to cure his injury as fast as he could. Fortunately, this was a magic world with plenty of wonderful possibilities. Under the enthusiastic gaze of the cheering crew, William opened the vial and downed the liquid in a single gulp. [ You've consumed healing potion ] The liquid tasted somewhat bland on his tongue, but hot on his throat. Once it reached his stomach, a warm rejuvenating feeling overwhelmed him. The pain from the injuries on his body vanished after just a few seconds as though he was never injured. Curious, William gazed at the injured spots on his body and he was wowed by the phenomenon unfolding — the light cuts on his hands were closing up rapidly. The biggest wound on his abdomen was recovering really fast as well. Although slower than the smaller wounds, it was still visibly fast, a wonderful scene to behold. William had a thrilled expression on his face revealing his amazement and excitement. Osborne felt really proud watching the hero’s reaction to his creation. A proud smile adorned his wrinkled face. Seeing the hero’s positive mood also brightened the mood of the entire crew. King Julian suggested for the crew to relax for sometime for William to catch his breath after such an exhausting battle. While William already felt rejuvenated from the healing potion he had just consumed, he did not reject the notion to rest. They moved away from the corpse of the Cranosith and found a clear spot to relax. Osborne brought out mats from his spatial pouch for the crew to relax on. While relaxing, the putrid smell and the ominous sound escaping from the deepest part of the tunnel continuously reminded them of the danger lurking around them. To wash away that feeling, the crew brought up interesting discussion to spend the time effectively. William was partially engaged in the discussion while checking out his new stats window that now had a temporary title. William also took the opportunity to make it known to everyone that his sword had been damaged in the previous battle. The hero only waited for such an opportunity because he wasn't used to asking help from others. A character he had developed due to his living condition and the people around him. King Julian felt pretty bad that the hero didn't communicate about such an issue to them and politely reprimanded him. "Hero, you are our only hope of ever surviving this dark time. If there is anything you want, feel free to ask and we would make sure to provide it as soon as could." "Yeah, we would do anything for you, hero!" "I have a daughter..." The others chimed in to support the king's point. In the process, William learned that the crew had been storing the weapons of their comrades who lost their lives in the battle for time like these. Theobald suggested they find the best amongst those ones and hand it to the hero. "Those swords are too inferior for someone of our beloved hero's power," King Julian spoke, then he turned to the wizard, "Please bring it out." Everyone including William turned to Osborne curiously. The wizard opened spatial pouch and brought out a sword that caused the eyes of the soldiers to widen in amazement. Osborne lifted the sword high. The blade was long and gleamed like polished steel. Its edge was razor-sharp, thin and straight, with no nicks or cracks, reflecting the glow from the crystal lantern. It had a magnificent dark guard that looked extremely comfortable in the grasp of the wizard. The appearance of the sword was beautiful, but the soldiers knew that the beauty of the sword was just a beginning of how precious it was. "The ancient sword of Muzez kingdom!"

Early morning had already arrived over the dark island. The sun shone brightly over the evil island, radiating a strong golden glow and heat. The sun easily permeated the small confinement of the room which only comprised of a few wooden chairs, a bed and a tall wooden cupboard where the previous owner of the room kept their wands and attires.Inside a spacious, dimly-lit room at the dark island, the core members of the two groups could be seen standing around a small desk.Melissa and Peterson brought out a more detailed ancient map of the place and described it to William and Theobald who represented their group. Only two members were allowed to attend the meeting thus both of them were sent."The first three floors are very easy to clear, they comprise mostly of mid-level apprentice wizards with barely enough mana in their mana reserve to cast powerful spells. While they are a little bit stronger than the wizards guarding the fences, they are not that much trouble for a well-traine

The crew ended up spending more than half an hour discussing about the plans to infiltrate the dark tower, how to act within it, how to avoid suspicions, path to follow, and where to find certain important people inside the tower. Most of the explanation was done by Peterson, the trustworthy assassin of Melissa's squad. His information and description were clear and vivid—better than reading it from a map.Melissa and a few members of her squad also added to the information available. As they had been around the tower for several days, their understanding of the place was an important lesson to William and the others.During their discussions, they had to halt several times—either when the surveillance light flashed in their direction or when actual members of the cult walked by.They were able to finish their discussion without drawing that much attention to themselves. After they were done discussing, they began preparing to act on the plans they had just finalized."Here."Melissa

So you guys heard the same thing?" The one in the middle replied."Frederico wasn't lying, I overheard two of our superiors discussing about his arrival.""I suspect something important would go down in a few days. The great leader never visits the tower unless for a very important event, could it be that the preparing of the grand ritual has been completed and he is here to finalize it?"The

William and the crew could be seen strolling towards the vast water body with silent and cautious step. At the moment, each of them had a long black fabric covering their head. The black fabric served as a camouflage each time the beam of the light rotated in their direction. As the land was plain and filled with dark sand and skeletal remains, covering themselves in black clothings made them more difficult to detect from afar.Thankfully, this barren land had no sort of abnormalities, not even corrupted creatures that usually raided the night. If there were unlucky enough to have faced anyone, their location would be revealed to the cult once and their entire plan would be ruined."Walk faster! We need to be at the island before morning arrives!"Theobald announced to the others while strolling beside the hero. After the peculiar sensation of passing through the portal faded, William found himself standing in a strange, unfamiliar location."Wow!"The scene before him prompted the hero to exclaim in genuine astonishment.Spread before his eyes was a vast, barren land plunged into darkness and gloom. Only the faint crescent light of the full moon hanging in the sky battled the intense blackness. Not far from his current position, William’s gaze fell on a truly vast, large water body that stretched over a long distance, seemingly unending from his perspective. The hero needed no geography expert to tell him this was Dark Island, the sacred landmark and hideout of the most terrifying dark wizard cult in this dark world. The sound of water calmly flowing could be heard clearly, and the waters were almost visible as they softly reflected the moon."What is that?"A surprised voice muttered behind the hero as its owner’s eyes suddenly and instantly fell upon a mysterious, silhouetted structure ris
