“The ancient sword of Muzez Kingdom!”
One of the soldiers exclaimed, staring at the sword with eyes that shone with interest and reverence. The other soldiers had similar expressions on their faces, making the hero question just what lore lay behind the sword in the wizard’s grasp. King Julian took the sword from the wizard. The king stared at the sword with a gentle smile, as though reminiscing sweet old times. “This sword was forged by a great blacksmith during the reign of my great-grandfather and in the time of the First Great War. With this sword, he slaughtered hundreds of mighty men and brought glory back to our kingdom. It has been passed down from generation to generation, and it never fails to fulfill the purpose it was made.” As he narrated the lore of the magnificent weapon, the smile on his face widened. The soldiers’ expressions also brightened with reverence. They felt honored to stand in the presence of a royal treasure—one that only a few were fortunate to set eyes on in their lifetimes. This was the first time all of them, except the wizard, had seen the ancient heirloom. King Julian turned to William with a bright smile, handing the weapon over to him. William was touched, he could not believe that the king would entrust him with such a treasure. “This is very important to your kingdom. You should keep it.” Even though he admired the weapon, he politely rejected it. “The weapon has always been wielded by those who are worthy. During my father’s time, a legendary knight wielded it in battle—and even he is inferior to you. You are more than worthy to have this weapon.” King Julian persuaded the hero with a calm smile. William stared at the sword for a few seconds before stretching out his hands to grab it. [ New weapon obtained — Ancient Sword Of Muzez Kingdom ] As he held the guard of the weapon, William felt warmth in his heart. His eyes shone with brilliance as he gazed at the sharp blade of the ancient weapon. In that instant, an abrupt connection formed between the hero and the relic. The soldiers observed the scene, emotions radiating in their eyes. Some even began shedding tears of pure awe. The captain was all smiles, he was immensely glad that his master now wielded the sword he had long dreamed of possessing. “No swordsman as great as you has ever graced our world. Only you are worthy of this weapon.” The captain spoke with heartfelt emotion. William thanked everyone for their trust and promised not to fail them in the coming battle. The crew did not doubt his promise. King Julian, concerned for the hero’s well-being, also handed him a new set of clothing to replace his torn uniform. The mood over the gathering was gentle and pure—peaceful enough to let their minds wander from the trials before them. In the glow of the moment, a brief meal was prepared and served, replenishing the energy they had spent thus far. Three hours passed swiftly, and the crew, now rested, journeyed cautiously through the tunnel. William strode at the front, dressed in striking new attire: a flowing emerald-green over-robe layered atop a tailored black robe and matching pants. A sturdy black sheath was securely strapped around his waist, its compartment holding the ancient sword. William no longer appeared like a young highschooler. His presence had transformed into that of an esteemed adventurer. The sword at his side made him look like a powerful wanderer on a world-changing quest. He looked even more mysterious than Osborne, cloaked in his wizard’s robe. William felt warmth in his heart. Back on Earth, it is a popular fantasy to one day wield a sword, don ancient medieval clothing, and embark on a mysterious journey to save the world. William was thrilled to live such a fantasy. Unlike protagonists in those novels, he could return home stronger and richer. In other words, he would fulfill his desires in both the fantasy world and the real world. A warm smile appeared on his face as he vigilantly scanned his surroundings. He spotted yet another spot with magical scripts, and the wizard copied them into his scroll before the crew resumed their journey. They ventured for hours, delving deeper into the tunnel—so far, no abnormality had attacked. They had found more magical scripts, the putrid smell had gotten fainter and more inhalable, and the ominous sounds had grown way louder. At the moment, the crew had already spotted the end of the tunnel. The tunnel caved into a tough, rocky end—not an exit—which caused the crew to worry when they first saw it. But they continued on their path with hope in their hearts that a way would appear to make it to the other side, either through William’s strength or the magical scripts gathered by the wizard. Currently, they were just about thirty minutes away from reaching the dead end. The expression on their faces, though bright, carried a hint of worry—what if it truly was a dead end? The hours they had spent in the tunnel would be for naught, and they would have to climb the dangerous mountain where countless dangers lurked. While William would love to engage more monsters to obtain experience points, he was not foolish enough to wish for a dead end. He wanted to cross to the other side as soon as he could and complete the entire mission. Thirty minutes passed like a walk in the park, and they arrived before the dead end. Up close, they realized that the noise that had tormented them earlier was coming from this dead end, almost as though something moved within it. It was deeply mysterious. The surface was rough and rocky, nothing about it seemed magical. Questioning murmurs rippled among the soldiers.

Early morning had already arrived over the dark island. The sun shone brightly over the evil island, radiating a strong golden glow and heat. The sun easily permeated the small confinement of the room which only comprised of a few wooden chairs, a bed and a tall wooden cupboard where the previous owner of the room kept their wands and attires.Inside a spacious, dimly-lit room at the dark island, the core members of the two groups could be seen standing around a small desk.Melissa and Peterson brought out a more detailed ancient map of the place and described it to William and Theobald who represented their group. Only two members were allowed to attend the meeting thus both of them were sent."The first three floors are very easy to clear, they comprise mostly of mid-level apprentice wizards with barely enough mana in their mana reserve to cast powerful spells. While they are a little bit stronger than the wizards guarding the fences, they are not that much trouble for a well-traine

The crew ended up spending more than half an hour discussing about the plans to infiltrate the dark tower, how to act within it, how to avoid suspicions, path to follow, and where to find certain important people inside the tower. Most of the explanation was done by Peterson, the trustworthy assassin of Melissa's squad. His information and description were clear and vivid—better than reading it from a map.Melissa and a few members of her squad also added to the information available. As they had been around the tower for several days, their understanding of the place was an important lesson to William and the others.During their discussions, they had to halt several times—either when the surveillance light flashed in their direction or when actual members of the cult walked by.They were able to finish their discussion without drawing that much attention to themselves. After they were done discussing, they began preparing to act on the plans they had just finalized."Here."Melissa

They walked in separate groups, each of them moving in different directions, ensuring that all the perimeter of the fence was covered at all times.A small group of three cultists could be seen strolling together while discussing amongst themselves, unaware of the arrival of an unstoppable opponent."I heard the great leader would be arriving tonight," one of them brought up a new conversation."Frederico told me about that a few hours ago, I thought he was lying. So you guys heard the same thing?" The one in the middle replied."Frederico wasn't lying, I overheard two of our superiors discussing about his arrival.""I suspect something important would go down in a few days. The great leader never visits the tower unless for a very important event, could it be that the preparing of the grand ritual has been completed and he is here to finalize it?"The

William and the crew could be seen strolling towards the vast water body with silent and cautious step. At the moment, each of them had a long black fabric covering their head. The black fabric served as a camouflage each time the beam of the light rotated in their direction. As the land was plain and filled with dark sand and skeletal remains, covering themselves in black clothings made them more difficult to detect from afar.Thankfully, this barren land had no sort of abnormalities, not even corrupted creatures that usually raided the night. If there were unlucky enough to have faced anyone, their location would be revealed to the cult once and their entire plan would be ruined."Walk faster! We need to be at the island before morning arrives!"Theobald announced to the others while strolling beside the hero. After the peculiar sensation of passing through the portal faded, William found himself standing in a strange, unfamiliar location."Wow!"The scene before him prompted the hero to exclaim in genuine astonishment.Spread before his eyes was a vast, barren land plunged into darkness and gloom. Only the faint crescent light of the full moon hanging in the sky battled the intense blackness. Not far from his current position, William’s gaze fell on a truly vast, large water body that stretched over a long distance, seemingly unending from his perspective. The hero needed no geography expert to tell him this was Dark Island, the sacred landmark and hideout of the most terrifying dark wizard cult in this dark world. The sound of water calmly flowing could be heard clearly, and the waters were almost visible as they softly reflected the moon."What is that?"A surprised voice muttered behind the hero as its owner’s eyes suddenly and instantly fell upon a mysterious, silhouetted structure ris
