You Know Metamount?

This morning, Lein woke up earlier than usual; time on earth. After spending a lot of time analyzing the hologram floating before his eyes last night, Lein found it had a lot of drawbacks compared to when he played the game Malivic World on the computer. Hence, worries about the attack from the Barbarian race filled Lein's mind again. He felt the need to raise his level immediately!

"Dad, what are you doing?" Lein asked while knocking on the door of the black room. After asking Anderlecht about the contents of the green door, it turned out to be just an ordinary bathroom.

"I'm trying to make a new potion. If you want to see it, come on in, Son."

Lein entered and was again greeted by a terrible smell. Inside, he could see all the ingredients that looked familiar, but he wasn't sure if they were the same as he thought.

In the game Malivic World, to find out the details of an object, you only need to click on the object from the computer screen using the mouse, select the 'details' option, then you can easily find out the name, age, maker, level, etc., of the object.

However, now he couldn't do that. To know the details of an object, he must ask, study, and analyze; no different from ordinary humans. Even so, Lein must remain grateful because with the system, he still has a significant advantage over most ordinary humans.

"How about your condition, son?"

"I feel much better, Dad." Lein said while showing some of his wounds which were starting to dry up. After that, Lein continued, "This, what is the name of this potion, Dad?" Lein pointed at one of the pitch-black potions inside a transparent glass bottle. Judging from the color and texture, it was something like, "Aziliz. A potion made from crushed Adamar stone and boiled until liquid," replied Anderlecht.

It was as Lein expected. He also started asking about other ingredients and they were all as he expected. "Forget my previous thoughts. I don't need to re-learn everything!"

"Then, what kind of potion do you want to make, Dad?"

Anderlecht, who was still busy with observing and mixing the ingredients, replied, "Father is thinking of making a potion that can increase one's strength. It must sell well considering the significant increase in the number of monsters in Astorm Forest."

Lein knew there were four types of potions that could increase one's strength. Namely, Glucossmint, which increases the amount of mana by 30%. Axlivir, which increases the amount of HP by 30%. Mextrily, which increases the wearer's strength and agility by up to 5%. And the last one is Metamount; a potion created by Lein himself, which not only increased the amount of mana and HP by more than 30%, but also increased the wearer's overall stats by 25%. Lein believes Anderlecht tried to make three of the potions.

"Then, what ingredients have you mixed into the jug, Dad?" Lein pointed at the jug Anderlecht was observing.

"Sulfidar, Xabir, Ansuman, and Zuany. However, the mixture of all these ingredients is still very far from perfect. Looks like I have to boil everything to get the main essence of these ingredients. Then, I'll try adding some other ingredients." Seeing Andes wearing a surprised expression, Anderlecht smiled then added, "What do you think about alchemy, Son? Isn't it a lot of fun?"

The Andes used to really hate alchemy. If Andes were given the opportunity to list the jobs he would not do in the future, then alchemy would be his first option. I don't know, mixing and continuing to observe the same ingredients for a very long time is the most boring job for his son. However, as a result of the accident, losing his memory, Anderlecht is confused whether to feel grateful or depressed.

On the other hand, Lein couldn't hide his shocked expression. Those materials are the main ingredients for the creation of Metamount. Who is Anderlecht really? Is it possible that if Lein didn't discover Metamount, then Anderlecht would be the real discoverer?

One theory about the aftermath of time travel suddenly flashed in Lein's mind, the Butterfly effect! A theory according to which a small incident can lead to big changes in the future. What would happen if Anderlecht became the founder of Metamount? Can the consequences of that change the situation of Astrada Village?

Given the information from the Anderlecht rescue quest, it is known that Astrada Village experienced an invasion because the Asmovius Kingdom was experiencing huge inflation. Drastic reduction of the price of their main food; coffee, being one of the main factors. Then, what if Astrada Village changes or adds their main livelihood?

However, Metamount is a cheat potion! Careless use can disrupt the ecosystem of Malivic World itself. In the game, Lein even only uses Metamount for personal consumption. However, that's not too much of a problem as the dosage from Metamount can be reduced.

"I have to give Anderlecht a bit of enlightenment," thought Lein.

"About alchemy? Honestly, it's really fun, Dad. Mixing these ingredients can create other new materials. Then, this Aziliz..." Lein pointed at the transparent glass bottle filled with an extremely viscous pitch-black potion, then continued. , “Didn't you say that it is useful for enhancing the effect of one ingredient over another? However, because this ingredient has many side effects due to the presence of destructive poison, it is rarely used. But, there's no harm in adding a little of this ingredient for the experiment.

Hearing that, Anderlecht smiled before replying, "You are right on one point, Son. However, mixing all these ingredients isn't like making a sweet bun. Aziliz does have a good strengthening effect if we forget about the side effects. However, there is one thing that matters most which made me completely ignore this ingredient. When Aziliz mixes with Zuany, then the result could be either destroying all the ingredients inside or there might be an explosion! It's very dangerous to experiment with this substance."

Lein knows that. Because he made potions in the game Malivic World, so he received 0 pain or side effects from each ingredient. Even so, still the wrong dosage can damage all the ingredients so that there is no strengthening effect whatsoever in the potion. To that end, after spending nearly two months of experimentation, Lein found the perfect measure to make Metamount. However, how would he explain that to Anderlecht?

Lein paused and thought for a while there before finally realizing one more important herb.

"Doesn't Zuany have a slight effect like neutralizing poison? By adding a little more Asulah powder, it should be possible, Dad," said Lein as his index finger pointed at the small jug that had bright green powder inside.

Hearing that, Anderlecht's eyes immediately widened, as if finding a giant treasure that had actually been in his trouser pocket.

"Come on, Anderlecht, you should wake up!" muttered Lein in his heart.

"Yes, that's perfect, boy! Adding Aziliz and Asula to this potion is a bit, just a bit! This should all be possible..." Before Anderlecht could finish his sentence, the direction of his gaze immediately shifted to his only son; last memory of his wife.

Given how this kid had grown, Anderlecht wasn't sure if he had given his best. However, deep down, he had tried to do everything he could.

Anderlecht does not want anything in return from him in the future. In fact, if he were given the chance to ask for one thing, then he would choose to transfer all of his knowledge of alchemy to Andes. In his opinion, being a man of knowledge was far better than anything else, and this kid deserved it.

However, how could this kid who hated alchemy the most come up with a new discovery in that field? Was it all just from falling off a hill?

"Son, do I have to jump off that hill to get a brilliant idea like yours? You can think things I never could before." Anderlecht said with tears in his eyes.

"Should I say you are the stupidest daddy? Jumping off that hill will only lead to your own death. I'm just lucky!"

"Damn kid! You dare say your dad is stupid?!" Anderlecht said while putting on a murderous expression.

Seeing him, Lein naturally gulped down his own spit before replying, "Ah, I'm sorry, Dad."
