Making a Comeback

Chapter One

System awakening

     "Why!! Why did you do this to me?! I have shown you nothing but love and affection since the day we met!"

At the entrance of a five stars hotel, six people were presently standing in front of a malnourished handsome boy, three boys, and three girls.

Out of the six, two stood out, a boy and a girl.

They were currently hugging each other shamelessly as if scared that one of them would run off.

The malnourished boy's face is already filled with sadness at this moment, as he stared at the girl in the boy's arms.

"What do you mean I did to you?!" The girl, a commonly beautiful girl questioned angrily, disgust written clearly all over her face.

"How dare you still accuse me, hun?! I've been with you for over four years, but have you ever bought anything expensive for me? What you always bought for me are cheap things."

The girl pointed angrily at the thin and malnourished looking.

"I also want to live lavishly, to use expensive things…. I'm tired of your poverty!!"

"You… you…. I worked hard every day just so I could give you everything you want, just so I could satisfy you and make you happy, is this what you would use to pay me back?!!!!"

The eyes of the malnourished guy have become red at this moment.

This malnourished boy who was once a very handsome and dashing young man with clean and white skin is James Flynn, a student at Dee university.

He is an orphan who came to study from a small village.

He and Sarah, the girl that just dumped him for another man have been seatmates since their freshman year in the school.

Sarah who was just a girl of ordinary beauty was so nice and innocent then, to the extent that both men and women alike love and envy her personality.

She was a girl of little words, and would always go her way then.

She has no friends until she began to talk with James

They would study together, go to the restaurant together, and be together most of the time every day.

In their second year, Sarah confessed her love to James, to which James happily accepted, then the two became a couple.

Things were still going great then until one and half years ago when Sarah began to change little by little.

She began by following high-class girls, girls that only go after rich men to asking James to always buy things for her which James would happily comply with.

And like so, she began to ask for high-sky price things every time.

It started getting to situations where James could no longer provide the money to buy these things anymore.

With no other option, he could only opt to begin a part-time job, just so he could satisfy his girlfriend's needs.

Still with this, the money James earns from his work could not buy what Sarah always demands.

James began to do more work and would often run errands for people, just so he could earn extra money.

At least, the two would still act like a couple and hold hands, act lovey-dovey and so until recently when Sarah changed completely and would always ignore and avoid James.

James had innocently thought that Sarah's changes were because of her upcoming birthday, so he began to save even more than before, to give her a surprise. 

He proceeds to forsake his meals and himself so that he could save enough money to throw a birthday party for his girlfriend and buy her an expensive bag, the one she has been asking him to buy for her.

Just today, her birthday when James had decided to give his girlfriend the surprise he has been planning for, he received an errand to send a package to a hotel.

On getting there, James became stunned when he saw his girlfriend acting intimate with another man.

"What are you bastard crying for, do you think you deserve a beauty like this?"

A fat and ugly boy, the one Sarah has been acting intimate with stared at James arrogantly and questioned, his head raised.

This person is Gab.

Although he is very ugly, many girls love him because he was from a wealthy family.

His family is into the textile industry, so he has money and connection.

He is one of the playboys at Dee university, and would often be seen with different women every week.

"hahahaha….."

The few people behind him burst out into loads of laughter as they all stared at James as if they were looking at something dirty and not worth their attention.

"Honey, let's ignore this broke thing, okay!"

Sarah, the girl that had just broken James' heart kissed her ugly boyfriend on his face and spat heavily at James.

This got another laughter from her friends.

"That's true, this thing is not worth our attention!!!"

The ugly guy added before he turned and swaggered away with Sarah still in his embrace.

Just as the duo took two steps forward, James finally couldn't take it in anymore.

He felt that his girlfriend must have been deceived.

"Please, don't follow this person, he only wants to use and dump you."

James cried out mournfully, his eyes becoming blurry, tears filling them.

The duo paused when they heard this, and an aggressive expression instantly appeared on Gab's face.

Just as he was about to snap angrily, and order his men to beat James up, Sarah tighten her arms around him.

She gave James a condescending gaze without a hint of pity on her face.

She even began to blame herself for dating James in the past.

"Look at you busy talking nonsense, as expected of a poor and foolish person like you."

She spat angrily at James, a cold smile on her face.

"Don't worry, he would not dumb me, he already promised to marry me!!"

Finished saying this, she began walking forward while dragging Gab with her.

Their friends also walked in tow after giving James unpleasant and nasty gazes each.

"Dumbo… he thinks he could change our in-law's heart and mind with such a disgusting lie."

James stood alone, stupefied at the place while staring at the back of the girl he had loved all his life.

He had never thought nor dreamed he would one day be betrayed by this girl he has sacrificed so much of his life for.

The tears falling from his eyes began to gush out.

It was at this moment a robotic voice suddenly sounded in his head shocking the hell out of him.

[Congratulations to cuckolded host, you have successfully awakened the Myriad Returning System!!]

'Wait, what did I just hear, cuckolded host, was that me?'

The only thing James who has become completely stupefied was able to pick out from what the robotic voice said was how he had been addressed.

As if the owner of the voice heard James thought, it added; [Host heard the system correctly. Because the host has just been cheated on by his girlfriend, the host has successfully received the tag.]

The voice sounded so robotic and expressionless as if it was saying something very natural.

James' eyes widen again, angrily.

He clenched his fists forcefully like he would kill somebody at this moment.

"Wait, what???"

James suddenly realized something.

He glanced around doubtfully as if wanting to see something out of the norm, unfortunately, he saw nothing.

[Host could not see me because I'm in the host's head.]

The voice answered James' unasked question.

'I must be going crazy right now,' James thought dismissively.

He has completely forgotten about his girlfriend cheating on him at this moment, thanks to the voice in his head.

[Host is not going crazy!]

"Just what are you?! Why are you in my head? Why are you messing with me?! Is this a park or something?"

James unexpectedly screamed angrily, garnering different attention to himself.

"Is that person going crazy?"

"Someone has gone craze, where are the securities?!"

"How could someone that has gone crazy be allowed into the compound of a five stars hotel?!"

He heard some people saying, but his mind was too occupied at this moment to care.

Like a dead person, his mind still thrown off by the voice in his head, James left the hotel while waiting patiently for the voice to sound again.

He walked several steps but nothing happened.

Just as he thought he has finally returned to his sane self, the voice sounded again.

[Host, do you realize how huge of an opportunity you just come by?]

James stopped on his track, his face alternating between different shades of colors.

After a while, he decided to listen to the voice.

Wouldn't he know if truly he had gone crazy later?

Just as James decided to speak up after making up his mind, the voice began.

[According to host's questions, I am Myriad Returning System, I've been sent to assist host to become the greatest entity in the entire universe and beyond.]

"Just as I've thought, I must have gone crazy!! This is not a novel for goodness sake!!!"

James muttered to himself sobbingly.

He felt like pulling off the hair on his head at this very moment due to frustration.

[Host should allow me to finish first!]

The voice that has been sounding emotionless all along suddenly snapped a little angrily, making James flinch unconsciously and instantly become quiet.

His heart began to palpitate with different thoughts and emotions when he unconsciously thought of the possibility of this system being real.
